He thought stonehenge wasn't real at the beginning of that sentence amd by the end he remembered it. It's why he gave the extra details about the ufo, so he would come across less dumb
FartingFighter lol nah, it was just me adding on to my original comment with a laughing face (smiley face is :) because i was actually laughing about having said "nuff said". I'm still adjusting to there being an edit post button for me to add on to my original comment without replying to it. lol
***** sure, although youre definitely a little overweight, if you have to use violence or your physical atributes to prove your point, instead of your intellect, since its an argument, not a fight, then youre not exactly intelligent, are you?
Few people know that Russell Brand is a legitimate wordsmith. He's got an honorary degree from a prestigious college because of his phenomenal way with the English language. Playing word sneak with Russell Brand is like playing hide the penny with David Blaine- chances are you're just not qualified. Either Jimmy didn't know who he was dealing with, or he's a smart enough host to know that Russell would spank this game and show people his amazing talent. Russell is one of the best writers of the day and far more intelligent that most people know or give him credit for. I love you Russ!
I think you miss the proposal of the game. It's not for who is the best at it, but to have fun and to be funny. It's funny when you don't try so hard to fit the word, but to make a little messy.
***** I guess. Personally, I get why Russell played it the way he did. If anything, that's the _only_ way I can see this "game" being fun. The way you described it....just sounds lackluster and droll. Jimmy _could_ have stepped up and matched him...which would have made it more fun. Not really sure why he didn't do that...
Ganjatom420 I wouldn't say ''better'' necessarily, I just believe they speak the correct English. If that makes any sense?,Lol. I understand your comment though.
mnqromero13 Those ones are very funny but they didn't sneak the words in as clever as Russell did. When Russell did it Jimmy had no idea what words he was sneaking in mostly.
***** I guess so. But what I found funny is Jimmy could never guess his sneak words and he could always guess Jimmy's words. But asv you say that's not the point of the game but it still was funny when I watched it.
***** if the point is to NOT sneak words into a converstion...if the point is to make it obvious what the word on your card is so that Jimmy can have a good fake laugh about it, then those should be the stated rules. Russell just followed the rules as explained to him, assuming it was an actual game/competition. And, Russell's version where it is a game is much better imo
***** I thought his frustrated look meant he had no idea what words Russell was sneaking in. If he wanted to know the words so it would be more funny he should somehow make it more clear. If it had been me playing I would have done it just like Russell because that's how Jimmy explained it.
"This game makes me feel like I'm trapped in a prison of language. I'm in a vortex of words." are you kidding me? It's like his mouth produces linguistic gold!
russell was really good at that. if we didnt see the words i cant imagine being able to pick which one was the sneak. jimmy however, smh, was painfully obvious.
Unfortunately, I believe it is one of those things that you are born with. That is just how he is. However, drugs might have helped a bit but he has been drugs-free for many many years now.
Im going to guess its part something your born with, but also confidence goes a long way, as well as intelligence, being extraverted (where you think as you speak, as opposed to introverted where you think THEN speak), and just sheer talent. I read everyday, I meditate everyday, I used to do drugs everyday (just going by the examples people posted in reply to the question) but Im super shy, not confident with my speaking (in front of strangers). when I am with close friends (which are very few) and family, and on a topic I feel knowledgeable in and confident in what I know, I am able to speak like him. when it's a topic i'm interested in I can go on and on, never missing a beat or fumbling a word, and wear people out. but to be in front of a large crowd and still be like that, that's talent.
He's so smart and intelligent that his brain has literally switched him into sort of an insane, loud man that comes across as an idiot but really is just so clever that his brain literally stopped him from behaving like a normal man. Basically he's wonderful and it's outstanding.
agree! I hate how people think hes an idiot just because hes loud and a little whacky. people dont take him seriously because of it. but when you actually pay attention and listen to what hes saying, as opposed to just watching his antics and movements, you will realize that he is very very smart.
yes, definitely. some people mistake his persona and the way he speaks and might go on-and-on as him sounding dumb or stupid, but if you really listen, he sounds quite intelligent!
Primaball3rina people love to hate, that's nothing new. specially the internet, it's infested with haters. I mean look at how much hate I get for supporting Hitler and loving Mel Gibson :(
***** Not to you and me perhaps. Many people do it though; They're acting stupid and expressing they know nothing about certain subjects, and at the same time subtly making fun of the fact that someone knows what they're talking about. The "right" audience will find that cute and funny. Would be easier to explain with an example, but I think many agree and recognize this situation.
Because he is a conspiracy theorist, a left wing hypocrite (I've got nothing against leftism, but I do have against radicalisation and hypocrisy) and very-very unreasonable when it comes to god. He isn't educated on science, history nor politics but he speaks on these topics with great enthusiasm, spewing his more than often ill-informed ideas onto the world.
His first interview he did with Jonathan Ross was awesome, you could see Jonathon's admiration for him growing and growing as it went along! American interviewers tend to find him a little bit more difficult than UK, the clip of him on one of the US news shows where he basically takes over the entire broadcast because they can't act professionally around him is gold
Why would you not guess the word? That rule ruins the fun.. That's only fun when you deal with normal people. Normal people are not as clever with language as Russell. He sneaks the words in there so good, even the audience fails to clap or cheer at the right time.
@@jodiegordon5559 You're right, he didn't go out of order. And Jimmy lied bc with other guests they WERE supposed to guess the word... that's the whole point of the game, sneak it in and see if the other guy can guess it. I'm glad you posted that Jodie 👍😉 Jimmy got schooled by an expert. Then Jimmy got offended because he was out done so what did he do, he insulted his guest. But like a pro, Russell got the last laugh and he did it using Jimmy's own game against him. Haha.
YsoSerious I thought Ricky Gervais was brilliant as well! I loved Russell's version but the thought of Gervais using Shaquille O'Neal's name to tell Jimmy he had recently gone to an Irish pub still has me in stitches. What I think Gervais did really cleverly was that he knew that we all knew what the word was and he was trying to make us laugh rather than playing the game.
Russell Brand is super intelligent and very good at this game -- I think Jimmy was a bit intimidated - for good reason. I like them both -- but I thought the opponent should have to guess the word -- did I miss something?
Yes, you missed the explanation b/c Russell couldn't shut up for 1sec so Jimmy could explain the game...you are supposed to have a conversation and sneak those words in as smooth as possible. The 2 players need to make up a story w/ those words. Nobody need to guess anything.
Guys, Jimmy isn't playing this game to win, he's playing it for fun.... his laughter isn't fake. Go back as far as you can in his history. He laughs at EVERYTHING. Russell is fantastic though wow.
It isn't a competitive game, so it isn't possible for someone to 'win' it. It's just an improve game they're playing _together_. There's no goal other than to say their word.
This was fucking embarrassing for Jimmy. The gulf between Brand's vocabulary and eloquence and Fallon's was so blisteringly great I almost walked into the living room and killed my dog.
There isn't any way of winning or losing this game - it's not a competitive game, it's a collaborative one. The goal is just to make each other and the audience laugh.
He wasn't supposed to try to guess, though. That's not the game, which Jimmy kept trying to explain to him but Russell didn't seem to understand no matter how many times he was reminded.
+junbh2 But the game is pointless without the guessing. It's just really stilted improv. Anybody can just talk a load of bullshit and insert in random words. The point should be that you have to do it in a way that seems casual. The motivation to keep it casual is that you have to be sneaky and make the word seem naturally a part of your story or else your opponent will guess your word.
This has been one my favorite games of Word Sneak. I like that Russell Brand was actually using a lot of words (some very silly) to disguise his actual word. I think the point of the game can get lost with the audience reaction. It makes it more fun (to me at least) if you can actually sneak the dang word in the conversation. This by far has been one of the better, if not best, examples!
Fuuuck this guy is sharp and verbose... I mean, I know him doing stand-up and talking about his causes. But just pulling that sort of random stuff out of thin air is literary ingenuity.
They should have played it Russell's way. Jimmy never would have guessed which word he'd been trying to sneak in - it was so similar to Russell's normal style of conversing.
I guess a lot of people are just finding out how good Russell is with words now. I tried to listen for filler words like "um", but I couldn't find any. It's crazy.
Russell's last word was delivered in the most amazingly sarcastic manner -- as if to say, "There, I've played by your terribly boring rules. Are you happy?"
Its kind of surprising Brand hasn't become more popular(in the states). His TV show and movies don't seem to draw large audiences, but the man is as talented as anyone in comedy today. Hes engaging, intelligent, and as quick witted as they come.
Word Sneak is like the perfect game for Russell Brand. He is so impulsive, has no filter, no inhibition, just says whatever is on his mind, speaks without overthinking, is very quick, is very good with language, is articulate and well-spoken. He is a genius in speaking, this game is perfect for such a guy.
Wow, I was so impressed by Russell Brand's impro conversation, he used so many foreign words and made fantastic embeddings of his sneaky words! Amazing! A dream for someone like me who loves languages! BRAVO!
