Can you put a puzzle date in the video title or at least wait a day before posting these? I didn't realize you were solving today's puzzle and ended up spoiling it for myself. No big deal, just a suggestion.
Glad I played this last night. I assumed you were posting from a previous day's wordle. Never spoil today's wordle. People are going to be mad. I solved this one in 6 guesses. Abandoned hard mode after guess 4. Took me a while to spot vivd.
@@highpath4776 You can only guess words that are possible based on previous guesses. No letters that are already eliminated. You have to use letters you've gotten in places they can possibly be.
For spoiler sake, please include the wordle number in the title of these shorts so we know which solve you are doing and don’t spoil our own play of the day, thank you
I was lucky to get it in 3: 1 - Audio (a minute of cautious thought) 2 - Livid 3 - Vivid I chose not to test for "e" because I couldn't easily think of any words with a useful combination of i, e, and d.
@@Stratelier There's actually a fair few! But I think "devil" would have been the only one that would have given you any more letters - seems appropriate, given how fiendish this one was, haha
Well I disagree, because I just did this one, also in 6, and was most excited to see someone of Mark's caliber try it! If it came out tomorrow then the feeling of "doing it together" would be somewhat diminished.
It’s sort of an agreed upon rule in the wordle community to not share the current day’s wordle. So I was let down when I came across this video, clicked on the comments and was bombarded with todays answer. Hopefully he changes how he puts out these videos.
@@harleybuttons1319 Nonsense. The Wordle solution is all over RU-vid and the news sites soon after the new game is published. Just make a point of not clicking on anything that may reveal it until you've done it.
SATIN - hmm, only one letter CHOIR - still only one letter EQUIP - HUH? STILL only one letter. [Stares at computer for half an hour. In desperation finally enters a guess that can't be right, just for the sake of finding some consonants.] LIMIT - ALL I GET IS ANOTHER @#$%#$ "I"? VIVID
i got lucky when I did this one, started with pious later and the only other word I could think of with only i there was divvy which revealed the double "v" and the "d" which leaves no other options
I get 18 unique letters from: Siren / Octal / Dumpy / Brugh. 3rd & 4th guesses get switched if the initial R is in the answer but out of place, or discarded for actual guesses a lot if I have 3+ letters. However, this got me only 1 correct & 1 out-of place. Took me a while of staring at what words were possible with the remaining letters, but I got it with guess 5/6.
Octal, forge... nothing! juicy... one letter! wtf??? must be lots of repeating... tried for something esoteric - minim - now got the double I... vivid and done!
i feel so much better taking six guesses as I did knowing it took mark just as many!! ahahaha although i definitely took more than a minute. double consonants AND vowels!
I didn't get any consonants for my first four guesses, but I managed to place the double I's. I was not expecting to find double V's, of all things, as well. I was absolutely lucky to get it at all.
Ironically, Hard Mode might actually make it easier to test for double letters. (Haven't actually tried it myself so I don't know precisely how it works, but I have an idea to test sometime)
siren, octal. gourd, fixed, livid, vivid for me. And definitely more than a minute. More like 5. But I got it, and that's my goal. And a really tough one, with doubling up on both the vowel and a less-used consonant.
I stumbled across this after finishing the Wordle for today and I was lucky enough to try Humid on the second try so I was able to get Vivid on the 4th
Imagine if today's word was "livid" instead... I managed to guess it in 3, after opening with "audio" and noting the peculiar placement of the letter I.
I could not get this one, cannot remember what I put in the 6th line, basically gave up as I didnt get the ID at the end, which would have helped and had 1 I in the 2nd place early on had trouble working around it.
@@Sam_on_RU-vid I use hard, mode, *and* I'm not allowed to use a right-but-in-the-wrong-place letter in the same place twice. That's a rule that should be part of hard mode but isn't.
I thought vivid in three, but I opted to rule out two letters on my third guess. So I entered livid on the third guess and vivid on the fourth. CtC, great content and thank you.
This was a spoiler post. Should have been labeled as such. I'm pretty disgusted that you would post the solution to today's Wordle before dawn for many of us. Did you know you had done that?
So how much did you cut out at 42 seconds? Needed to take a break to read a dictionary? Or was that you looking at the Wordle solver you have open on your second monitor? Truly shameful.
Literally the last sentence of the video was 'just over a minute this time'. The point of shorts is to be under a minute and he's fully transparent he didn't get it done in a minute.
@@z-beeblebrox the fun of the game imo is to think of a word that satisfies all the known information. Otherwise you could just rotely run through the majority of the alphabet with the same initial guesses every time. Hard mode can make it challenging to think of the next word. Also if there is no ambiguity at the end than the game is trivially easy.
@@chinchilla_blubber The fun of the game is to try to find the most interesting way to minimize your options. What do you do in hard mode if you get "-ight" all green, besides random guesses? That's not interesting to me at all. Just play roulette at that point.
