It will work, for the fans who just want to say “Hi I’m a big fan! I can’t believe I’m calling you yay!” And the customers will be happy, just in case you accidentally skip them.
Caller ID the numbers that are prank numbers. If the same number is calling multiple times you can either block the number or try to reach out the minor’s guardians. But that is a lot of work 😥. I had prank calls on my classroom phone all last school year!!! Apparently they forgot to turn off outside calls during class instruction.
I started working at a small museum that has a lot of interactive and educational areas which is basically just a play area so watching these videos (since before I got the job) has helped prep me to be around so many kids, how to clean up after them without disturbing them, and how to interact with them. So thank you :)
I wonder if you have your Google number for the initial people finding you, then get a second phone number for established customers so that you know when the other line rings that it is for sure a customer. Otherwise maybe you could get one of those automated directories that are like press 1 if you would like to make a reservation for today. 2 for a future date or whatever else. I think the automated voice should deter the prank calls. Hopefully you can find something to reduce the number of calls.
Suggestion for the calls: set up a 2nd phone line if that's possible, and give out the number whenever people come to the playroom , for rebookings etc. Doesn't help for newbies but at least regulars can reserve etc.
@@SierraZagarrialso I think limiting the amount of prank calls you include in the videos will keep kids from trying to make a video? I get why you post them to show the annoyance but maybe cut them all out.
I annoyed all the scam callers so I've been taken off of most of the lists now. I'd pretend to be different businesses doing the automated phone options. From sperm banks to roadkill cafés, rodent pizza, he11s customer service team, etc. I rarely get any spam or scam calls anymore.
My only idea would be to somehow have a “customer exclusive” phone number once you can confirm irl that they are legitimate so genuine customers have first priority but that doesn’t help in terms of prospective customers trying to call to get info from google etc… so sorry you have to deal with that.
For the toys behind the wall Amazon had these Spices shelves that stick anywhere and are good for filling shelves n spaces and some toys can even sit of them
I work for an answering service, and I feel like if you can afford one, that could be a good route for you. They wouldn't take the message of prank callers and you would only get calls with serious inquiries...
You could change your phone service provider to an app based technology that would allow people to also send in a text message to request a reservation. These apps also allow for calling and voicemail. This would help keep your customers from just not coming at all that and would provide an alternative way to reach someone at your playroom for a reservation.
What's your phone setup like? Is it just a land line with an answering machine, or a phone system, or something else? Depending on your setup, you may have some options.
I love prank calling lol! I prank called you guys just now saying I had a reservation for 10,000 kids but the lady threatened to call the cops. It’s not illegal lol!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So you should probably just get so if you have fans, just say back to them.Thank you so much for being a fan.But I need this spot open for people that actually want them to my playroom
3 questions. One, even if your child is a teenager, and they love places like this, can they bring them to this place to play? Two, where is grandma’s playground? Three, how much does it cost?
I’ll be more than happy to answer your questions. All great questions. 1. It’s designed for 6 or 7 and younger but it doesn’t matter what age. 2. Grandma’s Playroom is in St. Louis, Missouri. 3. $12 for the first child, and $10 extra for each sibling unless if they aren’t playing.
maybe a second line with a phone number you only share in the playroom/locally? basically like giving parents your “personal number” but it’s just a second line in the playroom
SUGGESTION....I know your play room is directed towards 8 and understand BUT I think you could put together something for older kids to expand your clientele and business model of you are interested. There are a LOT of toys "trending" online. Maybe you could set up parties for older kids to do things like miniverse crafts or something like that! My kids love them....
Is there a way thay people can make a reservation online? I do thay with doggy daycare lol They would have to add name, phone number, # of kids, etc. Maybe more work but because of that maybe it would eliminate or lesson the amount of spammers.
That’s absolutely cringe those prank calls. Probably tiktok fans or something and they do this as a trend or something like that. My neighbor attempted to do that by saying, “This is the St. Louis Water Line and you need to flush all of the toilets at exactly 9:45 AM.” He planned it but I got him in trouble. I overheard him from my yard.
Youre not going to stop the prank calling but what you can do is tell people they need to make resverations online and put a none refundable deposit, so that way people dont make it with a prank in mind or they have to do it directly on the phone with a person. Then say that due to current issues you wont be able to take reservations that are left on the message box seriously.
What if you actually go to her website and once you paid you get texted a code word and then you call and say “Hello I would like to make a ‘fruity’ appointment for today!’ That would work effectively! ❤
What is your phone company? You can make an online account and see what the number is who they are calling from and block that number. You could also block all unknown or blocked numbers as well!
so disrespectful of these people for calling a business and messing with you guys like that even if they are fans of you, they should respect you enough to know it's a business not a joke and that it interferes with actual business
I would actively discourage and reprimanded the prank calls and explain to the literally obviously children voices as they called on video to discourage
