It is a shame it wasn’t a series because they could’ve gone in depth with Quinn and jakes relationship, how the team formed, Quinn’s dad and her application to duke, her and her moms relationship, her friendship with jasmine and more but the movie was still great

This performance was so hyped up, and I was excited to see what was gonna be the outcome! But once it happened I have to say I was underwhelmed especially as a former hip-hop dancer myself. Some of the performance felt like they just gathered some of the most popular dances at the time and stacked them on top of each other. And their transitions weren’t clean at all. You aren’t supposed to be able to clearly notice when dancers have to run to their spots for a formation change, and it was apparent every time it happened here. If this was a real competition they would not have won, or even placed. (What’s disappointing is that they had dancers who were good! All they needed was to match it with good choreo, and that’s where it went wrong. I’m not saying any of these actors were bad at dancing, I’m saying it is the choreographer who they chose to do this movie’s fault.)

Exactly! Yes this movie is a YA romcom but i had so many expectations when I heard about it last year. This was so rushed and super cliché. There was no realistic development and I would have loved to learn more about the other crewmembers, but whatever i still kinda enjoyed it because of the actors ngl

Yes coming from a person who has the same ligament tear he has but lower in the leg near the ankle I can attest you NEVER can perform or move the same way ever again and the pain yes it subsides but god forbid you exert it for one day you’ll be moving all fucky for about a week or two after 😅🤣

I love the fact that the film was real to the point of not doing anything spectacular in this final act, the characters did their best and went to their limit, they were not professional dancers to give a spectacular show, they were just people who knew how to dance or just liked it, so that was definitely a perfect insight into the direction of the film

Amy Keohane It wasn’t rushed because of COVID unless they wouldn’t release this or even have finished filming. It was just the execution of it, editing, and plot made it rushed. It would’ve been better if this movie was a tv series but this was purely enjoyable as well.

The ending was disappointing. too rushed even the choreo looks rushed too. I liked feel the beat than this, like how the heck did bunch of newbies defeat people who danced in their whole life, like those thunderbirds prolly danced ever since kids. Then the dude from thunderbirds just changed, like you were still rude like 5min ago then announce you change. it was nice then it became mushy towards the end.

Don't get me wrong, they have potetntials as a dancer but after the thunderbirds, TBD dance is anti-climactic and mediocre at best. I know the theme with the thunderbirds with arrogance of julliard want to be the center of everything contrast with TBD where everyone can shine. But they can executed it better you know. There is no wow factor to be the winner. Even i'm the last person to know about dance as an audience their dance give me "oh. Thats it?" Vibe.

Thunderbirds are just focused on one dancer, and all are dancing in unison. TBD has freestyle and a lot more character. Tbd also has better dancers

God what I love about this movie is that she’s so willing to learn how to be better, and he’s willing to teach her how. And even as this group, they never had any doubts even from the beginning. They knew dancing made them happy and it was fun and they just!!! Got to live it out at the competition!!!

I agree that the end, and the whole movie tbh, was rushed. Honestly a series would have been so great ! But I think the finale dance was great. I loved it and I know we are used to seeing way more spectacular dances and competitions but let's not forget that they are not supposed to be dancers. I think it is really realistic and I love it the way it is.

Everyone else just had the rhythm for it so obviously they're not gonna come back after 5 months and be absolutely like epic pros at dancing! Its more realistic this way. Also the uncoordinated of the beginning is the best part because its supposed to show how different everyone on the team actually is and showcase their styles. It makes even more cool that all of them (while being so completely separate) can still totally work together and do this. My only wish is that they had more stuff surrounding that aspect of TBD cuz it would've been so much cooler

I love this routine it’s not always about having style just have fun and that is exactly what they. Did that the other teams didn’t do they were always focus on matching and all having the same moves they forgot to add there own moves and just let go that’s why they won

when some of them are just pretending that they don’t know how to dance, y’all can’t fool me and meanwhile, all of them are really legit dancers.. i just can’t with this movie 🤩 btw, this movie needs a sequel, i wanna see their teamwork and how they develop as a dance group
