Great couple, smart, and nice . My Grandma worked at Yellowstone in the 1930’s two summers when she was 15-16. Sadly I never have seen it. I still have a beautiful leather photo/ autograph book with Yellowstone on it, to look back on her great memories. Hope this couple are doing great! Thanks!

People like this are irreplaceable. Their experience and role modeling is so rich for the young people to see that work alongside them. People like this are becoming rarer and rarer.

I loved watching and listening to Jim and Alida's experiences. After over 40 years I am alone and decided to become a nomad to accomplish my America travelling and social desires. I got my 5th wheel late last summer (2017) and after winterizing November 2nd I pick it up end of March. Once I sell my house, I expect mainly local Alberta travels for couple months then escape south next winter. This video has given me a new perspective, especially social aspects and teaching. Thanks for doing this. Yes I am in Canada but driven to Las Vegas and beyond twice yearly using the I5.

I'm envious of European RV'ers. I'd love to tour Europe. NZ is beautiful. Yes, I am looking forward to touring America, Canada, and Alaska - plus Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica! Yikes. I've seen very little of my own country, America. Connect up with some of us through the channels. We would help you rig out, and you can travel with us. :) I'll be on the road within the year. I just found out about this lifestyle. I'm downsizing now, researching, and planning to buy a vehicle, build-out, and finally hit the road. Feel free to contact if you want some help and to come. I"m a single. I plan to have a Step Van, so lots of room. As long as you are a proper White (no funny business) you could even come along with me if you want. I wouldn't mind. We can choose places you want to go. gotraci@gmail.com

@@tracischeelk29 What state are you from?
@tracischeelk29
@tracischeelk29 5 лет назад
@@jamierupert7563 Hi, Jamie. I'm from Wisconsin, but have been living down South for about 15 years. I live in the Greater Atlanta, Georgia area. I planned this all out here very intensely. I decieded I didn't want to move around so often, so looked at all the Long Term Visitors Areas. Then, i found RV rental places on people's property, inclluding water, for cheap. On that track, I too looked at little houses and living off the grid. I've deceided to buy a big piece of land to live frugally AND to help other Whites. Some may need help and not have anything, like South Africans or our people if the banking crashes. I prayed and got the contract to restore fast. I'll be looking for land in about 8 months. I've considered many states. I'm goint to settle in the Ozarks Plateau. It is a strategic location if we are hit by war from both shores and North and South borders. Highly strategic, peaceful, beautiful and the safest location. I may still get a few locations to RV it and have extra "RV" spots available to Whites living on the road (in different states and too for own travels). It depends on the deal, but many big land purchases have two houses, a barn and even several buildings. It could be anywhere from 40 to several hundred or even more acres. I plan to have Solar heating for most if not all. If many other Whites gather for community and mutual protection, some will likely pitch in to build other economical homes. The barn can be converted. I dont' have it all planned yet, and likely wont' plan further except it comes to me or with others pitching their ideas...and getting nearer to the fact. Likely, will install RV hookup and water locations to help those traveling on the road. I'll still be traveling some of the year, but decided as I really worked and planned for living on the road that for me it would be too stressful constantly moving, and likely too dangerous for a single woman. When I figured the costs, the raod has it's limitations and is NOT as unexpensive as it first appears, especially if one is constantly traveling. I was in Real Estate a long time ago. I plan to purchase smaller land areas for RV'ing, traveling around to assess the bank owned or foreclosures ahead. :) So, I'll still be RV'ing some and by choice- Alaska, etc, just not bound to the road. And, I'll be able to help out some other frugal road warriors that want to rest longer than a few weeks. If they are outfitted for RV'ers with modest rent, it pays for the taxes. I plan to have the land pay for itself, solar heating (whch does pay for itself in the savings and cost of material). Spring Water on property or collecting rain water. Totlaly self-sufficient. FYI for all those planning. Walmart has now changed their rules at almost all Walmarts for no overnight parking. gotraci@gmail.com Sorry, for the long update. Things have changed, so I thought you might want to know. Feel free to contact or have me add to list for when I purchase the property and closer to getting out on the road. For the next eight months, it is continuing to downsize and working hard to earn for the first purchase. How about you, Jamie? Are you going to be living on the road or figuring new life change?

What a great couple. I just got the link to the workamping site. Going to look into it and see if an old retired gal could make this thing work. Tired of being retired and the grown kids have their own lives so I need to do something active. I love Yellowstone. Actually love all the parks and I've seen many but would be great to get a little work at one or another. Thanks so much for making this great video. Very encouraging. One year with a car full of kids and food and tent pitched, camping equipment, we woke up one day to snow, I built a fire and made breakfast and soon we were chased out of the park as the blizzard came through. It was June/July. I wasn't really expecting that but, knew it might be cold so bought an old 40s fir coat from the Salvation Army before we left home. "Only Mom would be cooking breakfast over an open fire in Yellowstone in a fir coat." We headed over to Henry's Lake and went fishing.

NURSE Kathy my husband and I started talking about my 50th birthday permanent road trip when the kids were 3,5 &7. they are now 32,30,&28. my husband died when I was 45 and he told me to I had to live enough life for both of us from now on. I bought my bus 6 months ago and I turn 50 in November, I am learning how to repair and remodel myself. don't let the losses you have suffered continue each and every day by cutting your life and dreams short. it's not fair to the dead person to carry the burden of your lost life. I am honoring his memory by keeping our dreams alive and within reach. I talk to him about this all the time....no he doesn't talk back 🦄🌈🌯😋💭

My husband and I are almost 30 and he has 10 more years left with the military before retirement. We currently live in our rv full time near our base in WA. When we moved here from Charleston SC we spent 3 weeks road tripping across America and had a blast. We’ve been full timers for 8 months and I never want a big house again! This gave me such insight into the workamping world (I first learned this term last week) and I am so excited to explore the option for the future! Thanks so much

I am at 37 right now. I have worked as an industrial mechanic for years. My job is kinda shaky at the moment the plant I work at might be closing it’s doors soon and I am sure I can find more work. But the thought of starting over at a new job and giving my time to another company that doesn’t care about me is not appealing. My wife and I are in a situation where we can sell our home and still make a handsome profit. She has been wanting to sell it all and go on the road and by way of the wind and go where it carries us. I though at first no we cannot do that I have to work till 65 because that is what I am supposed to do. But it is sounding more and more appealing. Even if it was for a couple of years.

The nomadic lifestyle is not cheap. You're buying a depreciating asset. NEVER take a volunteer job. The presumption of volunteerism is weaker the more hours that you work, and if you break down the value of what you get in terms of a place to park or a hookup, you're being paid WELL under minimum wage. Don't be blinded by the scenery! Get paid for your work.

+Harold-Sweat-Head Definitely not a reflection..I agree with you..kinda strange now that I think about it more..is it two people back there or just one? Are the looking in the window or sitting on the bed in the room back there?

+Harold-Sweat-Head Nevermind..after watching it some more I think it is a reflection of the camera man that is filming the video.

I'm more concerned with what looks like a window shade with a mind of its own wiggling up and down. The machine rebellion is upon us!

That's how you can tell they've been together a long time; finishing each others sentences. All part of lifetime commitments. Love it. Good luck to them.
