There is a really annoying problem with RetroArch, where it will crash on some phones when switching apps! My phone is a Pixel 4 XL, and I've seen other Pixel users reporting this issue. I've also seen non-Pixel reports too. Here, I showcase how this can be remedied.
In a nutshell: Disable 'Threaded Video' in the Video options, and if you're playing N64 games, use the ParaLLEl core instead of Mupen64Plus-Next.
If you use RetroArch from the website rather than Google Play, then the former will be disabled by default and you'll also have the built-in option to download the ParaLLEl core, making this process easier (and also much less likely for you to even run into said issue). But if you use the Google Play version, you must download ParaLLEl from the link below.

For the curious - the controller I bought is the PowerA MOGA XP7-X Plus, which I got for $60! I'm willing to answer any questions about the controller, if anyone needs some insight on it.
