I saw Loverboy opening for 38 Special A few years before this in a small Arena, and they were definitely much harder. But this song became a huge hit and it really did capture that transition into the 80s. It appealed to people from a lot of different groups even though is a bit more pop than I liked. But listening to it now, I can tell I have a lot of nostalgia for it and the production on it is great. That gigantic snare sound with a gated reverb on it, oh yeah.

Now listen to "When it's over" and "Loving every minute of it". So happy I got to see them at the San Francisco Cow Palace in the 80's, when they were huge, such an excellent show! Really good music

Plus, THE KID IS HOT TONIGHT, was also on the same album, and was released first in my area. It was a banger.

These boys are still playing together, saw them a few years ago. Not bad 40 years on. "Turn Me Loose" and "Lovin' Every Minute of" It is where you have to go next.

First album I ever bought! From Columbia House mail order service at age 13, lol. Forgot about this song, What a blast from the past! The 80's cheese factor is equal to "Danger Zone" imo.

Whenever the Loverboy tour came into town it was always a reliable and fun show. Good band.

Love the early 80 and still own this album. If you're dipping into the Canadian sauce, check out "Action" by Streetheart. Insane vocals by Kenny Shields for sure. It's interesting that this particular song came out in 1978 and Loverboy's "Turn Me Loose" in 1980. You'll definitely know where Loverboy got the inspiration for it, but it's a great song in it's own right. Mike Reno can really belt a tune. Guitarist Paul Dean played with Streetheart before forming Loverboy with Mike Reno, so there is that connection.

A friend once described Lover Boy as Junior High; both when they were popular as well as who they appealed to.

This album went multi platinum and had 5 or 6 hits. They kind of faded away but you should hear more of it for some bangers

You have to know that our cars were like our cell phones. That is where we listened to alot of music! Most of my memories of songs are in a car or at the pool we went too.

There was a DJ in Dallas that would often play this during Friday drive time. He had a large listening audience. You could see many cars switch their headlights off and on in time with the song as it played. Great review

I have a crazy-ass story about me and 3 girlfriends going to a Loverboy concert back early 80s. We almost got arrested. Had to pick up my BFF in the drunk tank room in DU Arena. She almost got on stage... LOL. Much more to the tale. Someday I'll share. "Turn Me Loose" was our song. We didn't need anyone to tell us that however....
