My first week of my first semester has been crazy! Luckily, I’m in NR 103 and it’s so too bad so far. I didn’t expect it to be so much work tho. Man pray for me. Lol

GOOD LUCK! You got this! I will say that the first week (or two) of each class is usually difficult and overwhelming. It gets better after you get a feel for the course and the professor :)

@@theluckienurse I prayed for this, so now that it’s finally here, gotta keep pushing. And thank you! You are a doll! If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t even have thought about Chamberlain or taking it seriously! Thank you so much, when I get this degree, please let me send you a gift or something.

Yay! New video 🎉 Can you make a video on your thoughts of chamberlain taking away ATI and now using Elsevier as well as the new CJE Assignments?
@theluckienurse
@theluckienurse Год назад
Yes, I can :) I have strong thoughts on it, but I don't want to make a video until after I've completed 1 (maybe even 2) full sessions using the new software systems and can give a fair assessment on them. So far though - I like the idea of the Elsevier and CJE tools in theory. They seem a lot more practical, and like they will prepare us for the new NCLEX better than ATI. However, I have a big problem with Chamberlain's implementation and roll out of the new systems.

Do you have any tips for passing Fundamentals?
@theluckienurse
@theluckienurse Год назад
My biggest tips are to stay on top of your work and to use outside resources. There are a lot of helpful RU-vid videos on Fundamentals - my favorite are the Simple Nursing videos!

I had to hold off. The school by me has 12gr clinical and different times n days every semester. I had no way to work around it. Considering moving to another area closer to another school. Every one is totally different though

Are you doing nursing school full-time? How many classes per semester or quarter?
@theluckienurse
@theluckienurse Год назад
Yes, I am in nursing school full time in an accelerated program. My classes are 8 weeks, while a traditional semester is 16 weeks. In a 16 week timeframe, I take only 2 classes (one at a time), but that is because I transferred into my program with over 30 credits, most of which were higher level classes that I would be taking now. Most of my classmates are taking 4-5 classes in a 16 week timeframe and many of my classmates also work either full time or part time. It's not easy and I wouldn't recommend it... But it is possible!

For the evening/weekend option throughout the program your clinicals always fell on a Saturday and you have Sundays off? And you never had clinicals on a weekday? Also, you said you could have clinicals 4 or six times for the term, would that be for the whole 16 week term or each 8 week session
@theluckienurse
@theluckienurse 5 месяцев назад
Hey! So for the evening and weekend option, my clinicals could either be on a Saturday or a Sunday. I usually make my clinical days on Saturdays but there have been one or two sessions where I had to do Sunday clinicals. You won’t go to the hospital two days in a row. As an evening / weekend student, you will be going either Saturday or Sunday each session. I have never had a weekday clinical, but there have been students in the past who were not able to secure a weekend clinical and they were forced to do a Friday clinical. This should not happen though! Also, I have had class (lectures and labs on campus) up to four times a week in the past. As an evening and weekend student, my clinicals have never been more than once a week, on a Saturday or a Sunday. I hope that this helps!!

I have heard about ECPI from other Virginia students, but I am not too familar with it. You are incredible for going to school while having a child, AND eventually getting a part time job! Good luck!
