Today we are checking out the new update for Horizon Workrooms for working in VR on the Quest 3! Check out the Mudrunner VR video on the gaming channel here - • Mudrunner VR on Meta Q...
Way better? Tthis is a DOWNGRADE! ... without Whiteboard, no standing in front of the people, no more breakout rooms, no more tracked keyboards, no more different table layout option, no multiple environments etc. .. and you think is better? this is a huge downgrade I hope they will build back the missing functionalities...
I came here to write this and you put everything i was going to write. How do you update an app by removing half of the features. Meta have no idea what they are doing
Totally agree! I had my office set up with personal pictures, my business logo, and I actually used the stick notes and whiteboard. I knew this was coming since Meta sent out an email, but they really messed it up. I think Immersed is a lot better anyway, they just need to find time there whiteboard and fix some bugs
So what actually got ‘WAY’ better? I don’t know workrooms but I do know there used to be more features. Best if you explain what the title of your video means.
It seems to me that they removed features in favor of making it simple and easy to use. I really enjoyed a lot of those features, but I totally understand the decision. And for adoption simplicity is massive in the Mixed Reality/VR space
Way better?...(Lets be honest, thats the Meta ambassador talking not Matt himself) well.. I guess this app is very much streamlined and stripped down for your average user. I welcome the fact that its quick and easy to use. I bet it supports 3 monitors streamed from the poopiest PC's out there. That said: The reduced bitrate, and low refresh rate on the monitors themselves makes this app unusable for creatives. I really hope they add some form of performance mode for "power users" The benchmark would be to play a game on the monitor without any latency, without any noticable low bitrate artifact. However.. theres always Virtual Desktop, now with the new beta supports 3 2k screens with up to 120hz if your PC can handle it. I have both worked with videoediting, 3d modeling and after effects inside virtual desktop. VD surpasses the quality and fidelity of Workrooms by ALOT. But its so sad, because i like the Workrooms enviroment, love the desk lines up with my actual desk. Love the passthrough cutout in the table. Just wished the monitors where MUCH better.
as you need to be in the same wifi connection as our PC you can connect wireless keyboard and mouse to the pc and work but just the Bluetooth distance. if you pair the keyboard and mouse to the Quest 3 then you can navigate the Ui use web app though the meta browser (e.g. excel, word web apps, etc.) but you cannot control the connected PC remotely connected in Workrooms.
I hate the fact that the shared screen is curved. Especially for design reviews that’s so bad imo. Also miss the whiteboard. Well…. Immersed will have some more customers from now on I guess.
@@normkarns unfortunately Immersed also "improved" their product recently by forcing users to physically disconnect any additional displays on their PCs before they can run the app. Enshi**ification in action.
which do you think is better for playing non-steam games on your puter (sharing desktop screen)? this or virtual desktop? (something like Retrobat or Emulation station launching games) (non-VR, playing on a screeen in VR (non 3d))
Would love to see a comparison video with The Spatial App on App Lab which mimics the Vision Pro experience. I feel Workrooms looks very rigid and boxed in.
Hey brother.. Let me know know if you want to try multi person in a Work environment. After Im finished with Security+ exam, will try installing the latest Ubuntu again and have a standalone OF running while having a Virtual PC desktop at same time. Hopefully in future they will figure how to have the cut / Pate buffer shared between the 2..
what a load of rubbish , just makes me feel sick looking at what you're trying to do , if you need to use the quest 3 for work on a big screen , then the screen should remain still and not move . they have made such a big mistake it's unbelievable
