Man, getting this stolen and destroyed really really sucks. I though that small islands use to be peaceful places, but I guess there are bastards everywhere.
@@fantared5263 It was hard to clearly see the plate numbers, but they were clearly different colors. At @2:46 he mentions he has an additional, identical brown c90.
@@JimmyRaptis It is the same bike, he changed the plate from UK standard (yellow) to a vintage black metal pressed plate. the J registration is the same.
This video is bloody heart breaking when you find out what happened to the bike. I really hope he is able to get another to somehow fix the one that got smashed up by pricks
Man, watching this after hearing that you had this bike stolen from you, makes me wonder if one of the neighbors happened to catch you prettying it up and decided they'd make off with your hard work when you weren't looking.
I'm so sorry man. I'm sure you're thinking about this as well, but I would look into getting some really good security setup since your success on RU-vid is probably making you a target. Please be careful man.
This video is so bittersweet now. I’m glad you were able to document the condition of the bike when you bought it. Hopefully the bad actors get caught and brought to justice.
I'm really sorry about what happened to this jewel... I really hope you can restore it to it's beauty and the people who did it will be sent to jail. It feels to me that it was a deliberate personal thing against you, so I'd really make sure that you're safe in your house and have the police really look into this. So sorry man.. Hope everything goes for the best.
May I suggest using some iron removing spray? This product works magic removing those spots of (oxidised or not) iron contamination. It's specially noticeable in the lower parts of the bike and helps a lot for conservation in regions close to sea.
You might want to get a new exhaust smash gasket to go on the tailpipe where it fits into the manifold. It might reduce some of that high pitched rattle or at least keep you from having exhaust fumes around the tailpipe fitting
Hey! Just so you know, when you're checking oil level, don't screw in the dipstick, the level gauge is designed just to press down to where you would start to screw it in, then remove and check the level. :) Sorry to hear about it getting stolen, but glad to see it's now on the mend!
I hope you get your bike back. Watching how much effort you put into i just want to see the robbers get hanged by their balls. Keep strong mate! That bike would be difficult to sell without get it notice!
So cool! Hondas my favorite car make before Toyota. Really interested in what happened to the reliant? Knew it needed lots of work but nothing you couldn’t figure out
So sorry that someone felt it was ok to steal and trash your new bike. I hope they find out who did it and they are probably punished. I know you'll be able to restore it better than before.
You could have cleaned the engine using flushing oil before putting in the real oil. You used the dip stick wrong, you are supposed to test the oil level WITHOUT screwing the dip stick in, so your oil level to too low.
My Grandad had a Honda C90 about 1976 . He lived in Cheltenham and travelled every Monday to London and returned Friday for work on his Honda . He used to come down to Tidworth on it , upto Sunderland and Retford . It clocked up about 90,000 miles and still started as normal , never burned oil .
God damnit... Man, you guys have some awful people in your area. I feel so bad for you. Please stay strong. Get the police involved in this, I can't be the only one thinking this seems to be done on purpose. Right after you posted this, they steal it, joyride it(?), set it on fire(!) and dump it in the water (!). I mean... wtf.
Oh man you're killing me lol. You have to give it a thorough wash first before trying to buff anything out. You might be causing scratches or taking off more paint than necessary. Please wash, polish, and coat/wax it. You won't chase your tail that way. Rust is cool and stuff but its a great place for dirt to live, think of it like the grime from some sweaty kids hands in a used gameboy. Same thing. leaving the paint unpolished and then unprotected opens it up to having more debris sit in it and cause more rust pits. Its very significant that you take these steps especially if you want to restore it. And if you polish one part, polish the whole thing or you'll regret it. The rust on chrome can sometimes be polished out with chrome polish as well. So if you are considering changing parts, I would make sure you polish the areas that are hard to get to before reassembling
I find it funny that most cars look exactly the same now, also this looks exactly the same as one I have but it is newer and frankly the one i have doesn't look as good since the one i have literally just sits there doing absolutely nothing
Wow I'm watching this and it's a 1977, this is the year Elvis Presley died, not only that but he died on this day in 1977, August 16th. Crazy ! I always thought it would be forever before I reached the age of 42 when he died but here I am now at 43 lol. Anyway, had the chance to see a C90 in the flesh at a vintage rally here in Ireland at the weekend at a place called Duckett's Grove, Carlow. Absolutely gorgeous bike. One of the big attractions to the bike was it's simplicity and more and more bikes today are adding more and more tech and worst of all those hideous looking plastic TFT screens.
My first bike was a 1976 p reg c90 painted by someone to ford tractor blue. It jad originally been brown same vontage as yours. My c90 returned over 200mpg
Its not finished yet...I wish those non bikers would stop making uninformed comments...parts are available to repair the burnt parts...most of it is undamaged.. unlike mine stolen and set fire to back in 2007...was reduced to black ash..nothing left to repairs..only the engine remained..and that probably had damaged seals inside from the fire..this recovered condition I would have rebuilt in a week or so...As soon as the parts arrived...
I would have thought a bsa or Norton would be more appealing to a British person if I don't get a Harley I'd want a triumph or whatever the 2 fat ladies bike was I think its a bsa or Norton
LOVE the video - such a sweet ride. I'm drooling over auctions with old Monkey bikes, or perhaps a Yamaha Chappy. Those were some of the coolest means of transportation that 15-year old me could think about in the mid 90s.
I want a Cub so bad. There's a 1962 50 in rough shape on Craigslist that I'm really tempted by, but I've gotta get my CB125 running and sell my Tomos before I can rationally commit to it.
I am so sorry for what happened to this bike! Absolutely heartbreaking. Hope the bastards that burnt it are brought to justice. Take care Elliot, stay strong. A lot of us support you. Lots of Love.
Do you think he has any enemies? I can only imagine someone who's really mad at him or hates him could do such a thing to such a beautiful bike. It's just horrendous.
I have just bought a Yamaha YBR 125 2007 off a friend and been doing that up bit by bit. Great video sounds lovely . Keep up the great work from the UK 🇬🇧
Hello, Elliot, There is a 2 component cleaning solution to clean air fiters that are hard to obtain, like my 1989 Opel Kadett concept car. That cleaning fluid is most likely even cheaper than the filter itself.
