Hi Karen and Phil, I live in NE Wyoming and we are having an unbelievable start to winter with sunshined filled skies and temperatures in the 50’s for the past few weeks and we are enjoying it while we got it. Traditionally here January is when the snow starts flying and the temperatures get into the teens and get below zero and it lasts through April and sometimes into May. I hope Mother Nature makes up her mind on which way she wants the weather to go for you up in Maine so you can get work done outside. Hang in there and take care.
The weather has certainly been a challenge lately. This is usually the time here too when the snow is flying and we're getting those kind of temps. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it! Take care!
Phil seems like 👍 a never a dull moment in the wood yard and need to be careful about how if your stacking machine breaks down then you will have to be splitting and stacking by yourself 😮😊❤
Good job Cutting And split in that wood I know how it is the cut in a log and hit something I hit a closed line pulley Didn't even know what was in it So stay safe stay healthy and we'll catch you another one
Team work gets the job done. The rain in Maine is becoming a pain. Loggers, truckers, saw mills are all challenged with the warmer and wetter weather this year. May 2024 be a better year for us all. Happy New Year!!
Sure has ben a wet yr just didnt figure it would be like this usually things are froze up tight by now with snow on the ground . Probably be a drought next summer because things always seem to average out .
My compliments to the chef! Don’t know how often it is mentioned, you two produce what is arguably the finest firewood out there, that trailer load was grade A premium stuff! The look on Karen’s face was priceless when emptying the debris from the backseat- mixture of disappointment, disgust or sadness- hey, good on Phil, at least he’s using the containers- might have to empty them everyday, instead of every other day😂Take care Friends 🇺🇸
lol Mike. All of the above on my facial expressions 😂 On a good note, that was a months worth since he got the truck. Seems that’s gonna be my job since I’m in the truck a lot 🤷♀️ I just can’t stand his filth lol
Thanks Mike we try an put out a good product so people return every yr .Ya when she saw the mess after setting up the trash cans for me she wasnt to happy . Neatness aint my strong point lol.
The rain and not freezing is definitely throwing a wrench into getting wood done! We need frozen ground and no snow!! Rachel has a good how to wear chaps short out that may help?
50 degrees an rain again today so the woodyard is off limits till it frezes up or drys out sure is crazy weather . Ya for some reason i dont think the viewers wana see me follow Rachels lead on that one lol.
Have a pair of chaps almost like them Phil. My are ok. At my former work before I retired we had to wear the pants. Good for you in the winter but hot as the hubs of hell in warm weather. Another option for ya 🪵🔥👍
i was just saying that Bob these chaps will be great in the summer but the pants would work better just too hot in the summer i'll probably end up with 5 pair after only having 1 pair all these years lol
G’day Phil and Karen. Well, that is one big order! You both are such good workers 👍🏼, stay safe and I would like to wish you both a very happy New Year for 2024.
Nice delivery. I have a Police Officer that orders 4 green cords from me every year. What's nice is he is the kind of guy to think 2 yes ahead. So this year, 2024, he will be burning the stuff that came off the Wolfe Ridge..
that guy still has that 40 ft conveyer for sale,,, shrink wrap the chaps, lol. i just got a pair for christmas hoping they dont do the same. hiden things in wood takes the fun out of it. stay safe!
Boss says i gota hold off on buying anything else till next summer so im just gona have to deal with that conveyer for now . Ya them chaps aint much good but i guess there better than my old ones just because there so light .
It is nice when someone orders green wood. Makes it much easier on you all. Phil, I think you may have a Mtn Dew problem, lol! My passenger floorboard gets that way sometimes as well with Diet Mtn Dew. 🤣 Keep having fun! 👍
Hope you had a great Christmas. You aren't doing your 1 cord a day. It is tough this time of year. You guys work hard. That is a nice order of green wood. You don't have to stack it or store it. That saves a lot of pallets. It is nice when you can split it into a trailer and go dump it. Just when you think you have a system down, someone throws a wrench in it. Thank goodness for the log lift. You guys have a great day and new year. That much Mountain Dew can't be healthy
Thanks James we had a good Christmas and we're right back at it. 1 cord a day is the goal, but every day doesn't allow it so hoping on average we will hit that goal this winter has been so warm that we don't want to tear up the yard after all the investment we just put into it. Nothing ever goes as planned that's for sure Is that a lot of Mountain Dew? lol Thanks for watching and Happy New Year to you!
See you're sporting you're new chaps, got thinking you could set up a hay conveyor of rounds to feed your splitter. 12 volt motor with a foot switch to move forward. Have the plans in my head. Our operation involves a pool of Lion's volunteers. Another great video, glad to you guys on the same page with a long-term goal.
I like how light the chaps are but it sure is a pain having the sawdust build up on the inside . I might look into them chainsaw pants for the winter . We are working on something a lil different to feed the rounds to the splitter but its gona be a lil bit .
That’s the way firewood should be. That way you don’t have to store it. I think most that burn wood for heat should be year a head. Heck I think I am 3. Maybe even little more. I got start doing something becouse I love to cut wood, really shouldn’t cut this next year. Thinking maybe a stand with some loose stacks and bundles maybe. Keep up the good work.
that's the way most would do it Dan but there's always those people who wait until the last minute and want to pay more for their wood lol Thanks for watching, good luck if you decide to have a stand
@@AllenFamilyFirewood definitely time save for you to not have to stack it. What figure lose 20 percent stacked compared to lose. Might make good video you deal with lot measured piles and then see how much is loose.
I was going to ask if you sold green firewood. This video answered my question. Will get in touch with you soon to place an order for 4-6 cords for spring. Always enjoy your videos.
Phil and Karen great video. My chaps do the same thing. It’s like they designed them,so that you’re just standing there modeling them. What about when you hike your leg up to foot a log. Just itching to see the big build. If my little project gets any slower it’s going to rot away. I sent a letter to Santa to see if he would send some elf’s to help me. No response on elf’s But I was glad I didn’t get any lumps of coal.
Well the wood yard is soft an wet an no cold weather in site just more rain so we are probably going inside to start that build in the next video . No point in trashing all that gravel we put down in the woodyard just to make a few cord .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood I don’t blame you. I hauled gravel every week on Saturday for many weeks until noon. She was on me saying when is it going to end. Now I have a thick gravel base that’s very solid. It takes time and coin. I went thick for another reason. Using my grapple root rake maintaining clean gravel. Be careful if your gravels not thick you will mix sub base with your gravel. You have an unbelievable rake, back saver and yard groomer. Have a safe week. You and Karen.
Conveyer giving trouble. Sabotage. Maybe. 🤭 Chaps need another strap to hold them around. Bad enough with the saw dust going in, but it’s that unprotected leg area that I’d be worried about. Great splitting. Good delivery. Maybe a small one axle trailer would help when the orther is in use. Any way, I’ll stop rambling. I’m bad for that. Crazy weather here too. No snow, not froze, wet snow coming. I’m guessing this will be the warmest December here on record. Have a good one. 🪵🪓🔥🚜👍🏻👋
That conveyor has ben a problem since day 1 . We dont always show the problems that thing gives us because its a every day thing . We was planing on buying a 24 ft one this fall but after the new tractor an new truck we will have to wait till next fall . Thinken i might be on the hunt for a pair of them chain saw pants that i can just wear every day cause them chaps aint gona cut the mustard . Thanks Noel . I m still looking for a steal grate to cook on
Well. When you cook on wood coals. You’ll be hooked. That’s for sure. Would the belt be hitting the bottom of one or both pulleys. If the belt and or pulley are worn the belt runs on the bottom and not up in the V, of the pulley. No belt traction at the bottom only in the V. Have a great day Phil. 👍🏻
Hi Phil and Karen!!😀😀 Should have gotten a pair of Stihl wrap chaps. They stay in the front of your legs when you are bucking logs like you do. Take care my friends!!😀😀💚💚 Logger Al
@@DanielAtkinsFirewood I wouldn't know. I have never had to test a pair of chaps in over 40 years and I used them all the time just so my pants wouldn't wear out. A good pair of chaps will outlast 20 pairs of Levi's. LOL!!
I just got some clogger chain saw pants for Christmas I have not tried them yet but I can’t stand those chaps I know they are pricey but if things are irritating I won’t use them??? Have a great new year
Hey Phil did you 2100XP husqvarna for Christmas 🎅. Speed up 🔝 blocking firewood 🪵 in the wood yard . Phil iiiii iiiii been thinking 🤔 need a fast chainsaw keep up 🔝 with OLD BUSTER . SORRY you didn’t get a muffler for OLD BUSTER for Christmas 🎅. 😊
I think im going to look into a pair of them . I just never know what im gona be doing when i leave the house in the morning . Could be cutting all day or splitting or have to sit in the truck all day hauling wood .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood I like chaps for the off/on convenience if I am only doing an hour or so and pants if I know I am going to be wearing them all day. just like everything else quality comes at a price.
We tryed that once but the tailgate is 18 in tall and its darn near imposable to get one of them huge rounds to roll up over a 18 in tailgate plus the trailer is only 5 wide by 8 ft long an the rock bucket is 7 ft wide an 3 ft deep . We rarely ever do green wood so doing it old school every now an then is ok .

Hello Phil and Karen. Phil your getting a little wooly looking, you have to keep well groomed now that your a RU-vid celebrity. You have a reputation to maintain. You are over working Karen. You should teach her to drive the tractor than she would be able to bring the rounds over and take them out of the bucket instead of lifting them off the ground. Thanks for another good video.
lol DonO you sound like Karen she's always telling me to clean up my act i don't care what i look like in case you didn't notice haha maybe we can work on her getting the rounds with the bucket she just doesn't want to pick up the logs the tractor is just an extension of my arms she doesn't have that same experience she tells me
I second that with the " a little wooly looking." lol He doesn't stop moving long enough! I am a Beautician, and even offered to make a "Wood Yard" call! No go!! But Karen and I will keep trying to keep him presentable, as best we can! It's a tough job though! Karen does a great job of keeping his locks shortened when he sits long enough for her to do it!
