It's best to aerate, overseed, fertilizer and water like crazy maybe after labor.. And keep watering .. Trying to grow in this heat is an uphill battle
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I have to be honest, I can’t wait for September! I’m gonna do so much to this yard to make it look great! Stay tuned!
I'm a newbie too It's all about your mindset set Your positive vibes helps me to keep working on my lawn...I used a garden weasel and it's working great. I started about 3 weeks ago I'm here for the challenge!!! Thank you for keeping it real😊
Thanks so much for watching and the comment! I really appreciate it! The grind is real! Keep at it! It gets easier and more enjoyable as you start to see results! Let’s Go! We are in this together!
Good job breaking the soil before throwing down seed. Make sure you break the soil around 3 or 4 inches deep. The seeds should be planted about 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch into the soil. You really don't need top soil as long as the ground is broken up and the seeds are in the soil. Water the area 3 times a day for 10 minutes each time. Once a week give the seeds some fertilizer. If the seeds are planted too deep they won't make it. If the seeds are thrown above the soil they won't make it.
Thank you so much for this awesome comment! I’ve wasted a lot of seed just throwing it on top of the ground without digging up fresh soil! I’ll give your tips a try! Thanks so much again!
@successfulmindset77 yes sir. Remember to water, water, water. It's hot outside and the seeds could dry and not make it. That's why the best time to throw down seed is recommended for the fall, but it can be done in the summer as well, it just takes extra care.
Sod is a better choice as seed is almost impossible to germinate in the summer. Beautiful home. I believe your determination will net you the most beautiful lawn in the neighborhood.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I appreciate the encouragement as well! I thought about doing sod at first, but wanted to really challenge myself and give this a try. Thanks again!
Where you located? I’m in Indiana and plan to overseed Fireball/Hatrick Rye Grass around August 24th. I too want to have the best lawn in the neighborhood.
I’m in Missouri! This is my first attempt, I’m really new at all of this, but do plan on doing a lot to the front and back yard! I will over-seed using some other seed in the fall. You will have the best looking yard in your neighborhood! I believe it for ya!
You surprise me with every video. What type of grass do you have in your front yard? You want it low, but you are planting Turf Type Tall Fescue in the patch area, which likes to grow 3 inches or higher. Follow your dreams and do your Successful Mindset videos and maybe grass stuff on another channel. 😁
This is the most helpful honest feedback! I appreciate this very much! Thanks for the comment! A new video is coming soon based off of this feedback! Let’s Go!
Thanks so much for the comment man! Appreciate that! You are so right. But I must admit I’m having fun doing it! I’m a straight up newbie man! lol! Thanks again!
