In this video, you will learn about:
- The science behind lightning strikes
- The necessity of an ESE Lightning Arrester
- The operational mechanism of ESE Lightning Arresters
Lightning strikes can be direct or indirect, both posing serious risks. Direct strikes hit a living body or object directly, while indirect strikes hit a nearby conducting medium, transferring energy to the victim. Lightning arresters are essential for diverting this energy safely to the ground, protecting your personnel and structures.
There are two main types of lightning arresters: Conventional and ESE Lightning Arresters. ESE Lightning Arresters, or Early Streamer Emission Lightning Arresters, offer advanced protection from direct lightning strikes by creating an early path for the lightning to follow.
To ensure comprehensive protection, understanding the coverage area of ESE Lightning Arresters is crucial. Our video also touches on the importance of lightning strike counters for maintenance purposes.

Please explain how ESE arrester create electric field ,is it active device?
@AxisElectrical
@AxisElectrical Месяц назад
The ESE lightning arrester creates an electric field by using a high-voltage pulse generator within the device. This generator increases the local electric field strength, enabling the arrester to emit an early upward streamer. This streamer propagates towards the incoming lightning strike, effectively intercepting it and directing the energy safely to the ground, thus protecting the structure. This is a ESE Lightning Rod maybe but this device cannot be called Lightning Arresters. It sounds to us like a misuse of official terms to distinguish your lightning rods from the competition.
