My brother-in-law used to build these conservatories for a local UPVC firm. You definitely can't walk on them like that. Even the so called re-enforced ones. They had a specialist ladder for any repair work, used to push your weight down the ladder and not onto the roof. So unprofessional 🙈
Not knocking the lads,,but I was absolutely amazed they did that...I'm not saying you can or can't but I definitely wouldn't and first time iv ever seen it.... They must of cleaned loads like that and surely never had a problem... Good job tho lads,,looks like new,,good detailing,,wonder how much it cost the customer... Few lads on the job all day....mmmm
On the podcast he said something like £350 inside + £350 out plus extras like the facias so probably £800ish. As a guess. Nice work if you can get it but they did an amazing job
Great job looks amazing. Surprised they didn't have a set off conny ladders. Don't think I would want to walk on the back of it. Probably would of put a scaffolding board across it plus it was a fair size Conny so I would of set up a small MI Tower to work faster inside and out. Like the paint brush detaling brush..
They did use the conservatory ladder on the near side, I got some good shots of it but I don’t know what happened to the footage? Seem to have lost those bit’s somehow.🤦🏻♂️
When you cleaned the Facias what cleaning solution do you use what brand I use the magnum force clover tfr just wondering I like to try new ones out thanks butty.
Ian talks more about costing in the podcast: aemackintoshpodcast.buzzsprout.com/1825422/11382171-3-6-making-the-most-of-business-opportunities-with-ian-parker
What is the A frame ladder model used for the outside clean? Looks perfect for what I need, If you add the Link for it I’d be extra grateful!! Great video. Nice to see the extra work that goes into the deep clean.
Thank you for the videos. I’m wondering how the uPVC cleaner can be allowed to go down the rain water drains when I’d imagine it’s dangerous to aquatic life amongst other things. Wouldn’t it need to be collected and disposed of. Also in the video there’s two shots of buckets being poured down rain water drains. Not having a go, genuinely wondering if this is good practice.
Hi Ashley, I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to remove lichen from conservatory roofs? They are very hard/impossible to get off with just the brush and pure water. Thanks again for a very informative video.
Hi fella. I've done a few conservatory and UVPC cleans but found it leaves spots on the glass even after I rinse and gone over the windows with pure water. Is this a problem I find for myself or a general problem everyone faces?
Make sure you rinse the frame thoroughly so no dirty water runs off there and onto the glass. Also watch out for dirty water coming from places like the vents.
Back in the day I/we used to walk on loads of types of conservatory roofs doing cavity wall insulation. They seem to be pretty solid to me and never had any problems.
I listened to the podcast, and enjoyed this video. I have not worked on conservatories, and was surprised to see they can hold the weight of a man on the roof. Seems there's a lot of comments about that here too. I guess they must know what they're doing though.
You need to be cautious, but it should be fine if you only stand on the glazing bars. But it’s even better if you can use a board or ladder across them.👍🏼
I wish I’d known this! I’m just starting window cleaning and the in laws conservatory needed a quick spruce. I had to leave some bits I couldn’t get to… or so I thought. I just assumed it wouldn’t take the weight.
