Awesome as always bro! I love that build. I'm renovating a motorhome right now and I'll probably be doing cargo trailer conversions in the future. The order that they build some of these motorhomes in you can't just take them apart (without like removing the roof and other ridiculous stuff), which is why I think it would be much better to sorta start from scratch with a cargo trailer. Your build turned out frieken rad! It's genius.

Thank you joe! Nice to know that no matter what, there's always a way to have a home to do what you love to do. Overall space, while definitely nice in larger situations, definitely doesn't hinder us from making it happen in the end. I really love this trailer and it makes me feel like I got a slice of something that belongs just to me

Considering moving my brick and mortar boat repair shop into a trailer rather then selling and relocating. Can’t find employees that have even 1/4 brain. I do fiberglass and gelcoat repairs as well as marine paint. I’m definitely using some of your ideas. Thinking of using gas compressor I have and selling my electric one, but do need my refrigerated air dryer it’s essential. Any input on why you went electric compressor over gas, also, I’m thinking about doing a small “booth” on sides. How about ideas on dust collection for when sanding boats outside the trailer? Won’t be sanding anything inside. I’m going from a 4k sq ft shop to a trailer but I am excited. I am HEAVILY invested in Milwaukee Packout already so that should help. Chemical cabinet and storage of chem/resin/paint will be my main concern. I have both gas and electric compressor already that have plenty of SCFM and either can run my shop now with no problem. Great video!

Just upgraded to a huge shop 1 year now I can’t run it due to not finding employees. And now I’m considering moving and doing fishing charters and boat repair and detailing on the side. Scary transition

@mxrevival
@mxrevival 2 года назад
Thanks dude. I am really enjoying it. It's just enough. Compressor is an extremely quite one for it's size. The belt cage rattles more than anything so I'll secure that. Impressively quiet otherwise. Start up is startling sometimes even when you're waiting on it but I got used to that.
@robh3267
@robh3267 2 года назад
Hey Charles, do you plug the trailer into a 220v outlet to power the trailer and split your power in the service panel, not sure about the other equipment but the compressor I'm sure requires 220 service, (208v is probably the minimum start voltage)and have you had any issues with voltage drop when a piece of equipment starts, I used to run a large 80 gal compressor but had to install a booster transformer to get the compressor to start because the power company was allowed a 30% drop in power during peak business hours.
@mxrevival
@mxrevival 2 года назад
Great question. I'm directly wired into a two pole 50A (single phase) breaker on our residence. Two legs of 120V in other words. I am really close to the panel so there's no real voltage drop. My service cord is 50' long, #6 AWG. Sounds like your application was commercial or three phase VS the single phase residential power we use (therefore a single phase motor as well). This compressor is also an 80 gallon and only tugs 23 amps roughly, which allows me to get away with just a #10 AWG pair of wires & two pole 30A breaker. Long story but no issues & all code compliant per NEC. 30A x 80% = 24A max draw allowed on the 30A breaker 👌

How has the flooring held up? Looking to build out a retail shop in a 20x8.5 and debating on flooring. My concern is the rear dovetail where it changes from flat to angled towards the rear ramp.
@mxrevival
@mxrevival Год назад
Go with a linoleum style floor and you will be dialed in! I got two Fancy with it, and though it has been extremely durable and looks amazing, it has had some expansion and contraction with extreme heat and extreme cold. It still looks great, but I probably could have saved some cash and really didn't have a clue what I was doing when I bought this floor. I just knew I wanted it. No regrets, there are just more affordable options that probably look just as nice and will expand and contract less.
@blackswampboots8523
@blackswampboots8523 Год назад
@@mxrevival I actually ended up with an LVP that's pretty flexible. So far it's going down over the dove tail pretty well. I'm a little worried about some failure points but only time will tell. It should look pretty badass when it's done though! Appreciate your video and your input!

Nice. Where do you park it while in use? Do you have your own home or have you found a way while living in an apartment?
@mxrevival
@mxrevival Год назад
We had it plugged right into the house. If you’re in an apartment, might have to rent a spot at a friends house to do the same OR rent a storage unit space with power. Perhaps a generator… We’ve since moved again and back in a non trailer space (seen in recent videos) but the trailer days were magic! I’ll remember them forever. (Sold the trailer)

Hey man, love your videos, I just have a question, what are your compressor specs? I currently have a vaporblaster buy I'm going to buy a dry blaster, so I want to know if my compressor would hold up. Thanks man, my best wishes
@mxrevival
@mxrevival Год назад
Thank you Miguel 💪 you're going to want to find out what the requirements of the tool will be. In this case, your dry blasting cabinet will have specific needs. It will be a certain number of CFM that the tool will need to have sustained in order for your compressor to keep up and not be running over and over and over... Dry blasting is typically going to use way more air than the wet, since all the shiny stuff is made at lower pressures in the vapor blasting cabinet. For me, my compressor ended up being a Champion brand, dual stage, five horsepower, 80 gallon compressor. I want to say it was around $2,000. Spend every bit of the money you need on this tool because it's going to last you forever. There are many, many compressors with the same specs but less $$ that DO NOT put out enough CFM for your tools. This is a really big purchase, so make sure everything is spot on for your needs. The last spec I didn't mention yet is that the compressor is single phase. There are three phase and single phase units. Three phase is the style of power that commercial buildings have, and single phase is a style of power that most homes or residential dwellings have. That's also very important. I know you'll get it dialed in and thanks for watching 🙏

Hey I like the setup just wondering how much did it cost to build?
@mxrevival
@mxrevival 2 года назад
Thank you! It really saved my life and my sanity for the last year or so. I literally just emptied it all back out... The trailer was about $11,500 out the door brand new. Compressors are probably about $2,000, Vapor blasting cabinet I have is close to $8,000 a few years ago. I pretty much already owned everything else but you could loosely estimate another $5,000 maybe? Regardless, something like this in any trailer which is turn key, owned by nobody but yourself, and doesn't have a monthly overhead is worth its weight in gold in a lot of situations. Trailers up for grabs if you are interested, flooring, FRP walls, and all electrical still stay. Trailer finally took its first trip when we moved a couple months ago so it only has 800 miles on it. It went from the dealership to the house to be built, then from the house in California to Idaho. Thanks again for watching
