If you have a workshop vacuum that takes dust filter bags which are generally a one-time use then throw away job, I will show you a quick and inexpensive hack that will allow you to re-use your vac bags time and time again. This hack is a cheap fix and will save you dollars!

I have done this myself, with my Festool vac. It works very well, except i need to make the cut in the conduit a little wider, as it takes too much effort to put back on the bag.

This is a great hack, but am hoping that you're wearing some sort of protection from the micro particles when you empty out those bags.

I think the current price is around Au$77 for 10 bags, for the 15 l size but jumps dramatically if you look at a 36 l vac to around Au$13 per bag.

Great idea! The Festool and Makita bags are pretty expensive for a 5 pack. How many times would you say you can empty and reuse the bag before it's too dirty? Would drywall dust make the bag not reusable? I'm still researching for the best auto clean shop vac right now.

Hi Henri Yes your right the Festool bags are very expensive, in fact anything Festool is expensive! I am not sure how many times you can get away with reusing the bags it should be in the vicinity of 100’s though it will always depend on what you are vacuuming! I myself have also invested in the cyclone sustainer addition which sits on top. I love it as most of the dust lands in this container which I have a plastic bag lined inside and when it gets full I just tie a knot and throw it out. Also with this upgrade the bottom bag hardly gets filled up so mine will last for years… Hope you enjoyed the video and good luck with your vac 👍
