Nice and simple, having just been given a basic lathe I was wondering how to cut some blanks.........now I know 👍👍

Brilliant, I amazed myself that I followed the instruction on the video made it and it worked first time. I’m new to wood turning and have never used a bandsaw either , the only problem getting to fit the screw in the hole made in the centre of the wood to be cut but I’m sure I’ll sort that. Have to get quarter in blade to try some bowl blanks. Thanks Craig for an excellent video.

32:30 That blank is everything but flat - I see minor imperfections coming which could have been prevented with a dead flat board.

Superb tutorial Craig - nice one mate. I made a log cutting jig the other day - that was fun. Nick Lag*** (private account) ;)

24:45 *No* - now we need to route a miter slot, fitting in a t-rail track in order to have an adjustable, stepless way of cutting circles a diameter *we* want.

Great video. Will this jig work for the small Axminster AC1400B bandsaw? I’m looking to make wheels for wooden toys. Many thanks.

Made one today for my small 4" bandsaw, I'm new to woodworking. Nice little project and worked perfectly on larger diameters. Bandsaw stalled on small diameters (100-150mm), maybe asking too much of it. Hopefully a smaller blade will help or maybe I just had the tension too high. Some experimentation to follow. Thanks for the easy to follow video and very clear instructions. Look forward to your next 'project' video 😊

Hi Paul, the following reply is from Craig - "Yes, a 1/4 x 6tpi blade would be needed. Make sure that the compass point line is dead in line with the cut line!"

14:00 So I guess *overspill* is the British way for saying *squeeze out* ..? very British.. [hm.. just wondering: is there a difference between 'overspill' & 'spillover' ?]

I have built a similar circle cutting jig. Have you done a video on gear cutting for wooden gears or would you consider doing one?

Hi Paul, we currently don't have any plans for this but I will pass your request on :)

01:45 All those woodworkers who casually are in need of a star knob, a cylinder lagged with sanding paper to attach on a power drill to sand & shape little curved pieces of wood, and so on..

Hi Craig I have a 1953 10" Delta HomeCraft bandsaw that does not have a mortise slot do you have any information on making a jig like your one to fit my saw ???

Hi Douglas, the following reply is from Craig - "Wow, would love to see a picture of it, got a thing for the older solid machinery! So you could make a jig almost the same but instead of using a mitre slot to slide forward squarely into the blade, you could use each side of the table. This would mean still having a stop strip to make contact with the front of the table but also 2x side strips which internally are equal to the overall width of you bandsaw table - with a tiny bit of wiggle space!" I hope this helps :)
