"It's not for production yet" My man I liked and subscribed, please keep working on this, keep us up to date, and know you have our love and admiration for this simple yet brilliant concept. The fact it's open sauce is just righteous.
Very well done, its amazing ! so cool to finally see a system capable of copying stuff without paying thousands for professional scanners/software... keep it up mate, cant wait to see where this goes and id love to test it one day !
I think that this might be of great interest to users of sls machines, due to the way that they can stack unorientated models in the build space without supports and with far less need for model/part specific slicer configurations.
This is the future we were promised! 3D printers really should have this built in. Makes a great case for a printer with a rotating platform so as to save on parts. Well done poc! I hope this inspires many makers and vendors! Thanks for sharing :D
Hi! I just got my mini working and i am very impressed by the fruits of your efforts. I am now waiting for my token to finally try the cloud service. As a total noob to everything raspberry related, i have to say that it was not that much of a challenge to get things working. The printable files are very well done and thought through. The delivery of the remaining hardware was fast and everything works fine. I only needed a little help with the wifi connection, because i refused to go the easy way with Ethernet. 😁 There is just one little thing i want to suggest, because i got a little confused. In the assembly manual, when it comes to the mounting of the camera and the ringlight. At first it shows step by step mounting without the backcover of the ringlight, but then it continues to show the assembly with the cover which is kinda confusing, because there is no stl file for that cover included with the rest of the parts. (I don't think it is really needed, so i just went on without it.) Just wanted you to know, because it caused a little confusion. Thank you for your effort. :) *Edit: I just realized you are a german fella, in dem Fall schicke ich schöne Grüße aus Österreich! 👋😊
What camera was used with the Mini? ArduCam? I am in the pusuit of getting better results with my scanner (OpenScan Mini) and wondering if the camera is a big deal? Currently I'm using a Pi Camera v2.1. Great video with a very interesting workflow!
Yes, the arducam imx519 is definitely improving the results a lot. Especially the software controllable focus was a game changer. Best results can be achieved with focus stacking (not used in the video)
This was done with a modded version of the Patreon Beta (added auto-upload to the OpenScanCloud). The automated scaling worked almost perfectly (within 98% of target dimensions ;)
Hi T., I would like to ask you about the printer, could be used with a bambu lab a1 mini?, I don't still have it so, I am sitll could still consider Prusa Mk3s+
