In this video we try to do a train review for the london to edinburgh train route with LNER
the tickets were bought or purchased in advance on train line and the 1st class railway ticket from london kings cross to edinburgh waverley costs just £75 for one way.
we thought this price was a cheap train ticket price especially for 1st class.
the food was unlimited and the snack trolley and 1st class train service was really good.
it might have been the best train ride in the uk, with amazing views out of the train window.
Each of the 4 uk countries has their own capital city
Whilst we are in each uk city we try to consume the national dish and the national drink.
We then get on a train from London to Edinburgh in SCOTLAND We have the national dish and national drink of Scotland which i IRN BRU AND A BATTERED MARS BAR
This video is not about the best things to do in each of the UK’s capital cities, it is just about being able to travel to each of them within 24 hours.

Bargains can be had if you book a couple months in advance. I got Aberdeen to London 1st Class for £60 with railcard.

I've been to Edinburgh 6 times. The royal mile is the main road in the city. There is usually about 10 bagpipes on that one road at a time. I've played the bagpipe street performers in San Diego and got alot of people staring at me😳 I even saw a 11 year old playing sky boat song last time I was there.

If you thought that was comfortable you should try the LNER IC225 before they are retired. The first class seats on the Mk. 4 coaches are as comfortable as beds.

I go First on LNER all the time now. Much nicer experience and these days Standard often isn't even that much cheaper. First is worth the extra cost for all the included food and drink - to emulate that in Standard (or even buying food beforehand) could in some cases just jack the total expenditure to the cost of the First Class ticket anyway. A friend of mine did the sums and reckoned the cost of his First Class food and drink would cost roughly £25 if paid out of pocket. That means that any price difference less than £25 isn't worth it and you might as well just upgrade.

In my opinion, the pipers crisps are the best, before you all ask, yes i have travelled first class with LNER, on an Azuma twice, and even a class 91, mk4’s and dvt

Or they don’t realise that THEY (or their personal info) are in fact the commodity being traded. And most people don’t actually realise this. I live in a country (Scotland) whose political class has actually genuinely convinced vast swathes of the populace that it can provide things for “free”.

We had something like this when we went for a school trip in p7 so when I was 11 years old it was amazing and I got to sit in a four with all my friends BUT THEN GRACIE AND ANIKA ASKED TO SWITCH SO THEY COULD SIT NEXT TO HARRY AND THEY MOVED ME AND MY FRIEND RIGHT NEXT TO THE TEACHERS AND ALL THEY GAVE US WAS A PLAIN DIGESTIVE BUT THEY HAD NONE LEFT SO THYE JUST LEFT US IN THIS CRAMPED TWO SEATER WITH NOTHING sorry for the rant had to get that off my chest

I tried first class on the same type of train at a different company (GWR) and honestly, it was alright but didn't feel proper first class beside free snacks and drinks. But guess what - it was only £9.20 for a 100 km journey (Oxford to Hereford via the Cotswold Line) I'm hoping to review first class on the Intercity 225 at LNER (you two filmed this on a Azuma 800/801 btw) before they go.

Not always true... i travel LNER often and the first class was horrific!!! No hot drinks or snacks and all the staff just sat and were gossiping not a positive experience

The free food and drink in fist class you enjoy cost the rail company per person who uses it all 5 pound 60 pence. Less than half will use that so your paying 3 pound extra in first class ...for nothing. And unless your 7 foot ..and can not remember to charge your phone before you travell ...this is romance deliusion
