In this issue, we are evaluating the Samsung OLED G9, which is a 49-inch 5120×1440 resolution 240Hz QD-OLED panel gaming display. The evaluation content mainly focuses on appearance design, menu function, display effect (color temperature, brightness, color gamut, balance, PPI, pixel arrangement, viewing angle, HDR, watching movies, game experience), wide interface, inclusiveness, and disassembly work. Materials, and screen measured data for a comprehensive test.

Even if the reviews on this channel are not in english it still boggles my mind as to why the viewership is so low.. the CC auto translation works perfectly well, and even if it doesn't.. common sense does. yeah - little snowman brother rocks! I enjoy seeing inside every monitor he reviews a lot uniq and special feeling - analizing pcb - for QD_OLEDs it is important to know if there is a turbo cooling fan (s) inside. This is The best review channel easily.👍

They didn't advertise a 30% brightness improvement for this monitor. Samsung Display advertised a 30% brightness improvement for the gen 2 QD Oled tv panels in peak highlights. It seems Samsung Electronics chose to keep brightness the same as the Oled G8 and use the efficiency benefits of QD Oled gen 2 to prolong lifespan even more. They probably thought upping refresh rate to 240hz was a more important metric to improve since LG's oled monitors only match QD oled in fullscreen brightness. They will probably up brightness across the entire APL range once they switch to phosphorescent blue oled material in 1 or 2 years.

@@FrowningTaco huh interesting idea about keeping brightness the same for extended burn in prot and organic lifespan. S95c does have 2000 nits with 5-7%? full white window - i was hoping for less agressive abl on qd-oled v2 at least. But i have to reconsider what you said - sounds resanoble.

@@FrowningTaco also no hdr true black 500 cert?? i remember msi project 49c1 did have a hdr true black 500 promotion on ces 2023 - why not here? :( the only hope is dellienware 34 with qd-oled v2 panel, their hdr settings should be less agressive and the overall brightness should be higher. but their QC is terrible...

Subscribed and liked. Loved the rapid, but detailed and informative info. I may have missed it but one of QD-OLED 1st gen issues is high glow from ambient light. I’d like to know if that has been reduced. Thanks!

yes they used semi-glass whatever coating and and now it is almost perfect. no purple tint with high light sources shining on the panel and reflections handling is excellent now.

Great review and an actual review unlike most channels that are little more than Samsung sales channels. MonitorUnboxed is also good but they do not dismantle to examine the internals like you do. Very much appreciated. Only via your reviews did I confirm what I suspected - the LG 45" OLED has a fan inside to help cool components while the OLED G9 does not. I would think that is a big deal and can affect the longevity and burn-in risk of the panels. Which also can help explain why G9 OLED users report it running quite hot while there are no such reports for the LG 45".

I think for the size of this monitor the radius of the curve isn't steep enough. Something like 1000R would be better to see the edges when sitting at a regular distance from the monitor.

yeah that is why I prefer the lg model more aggressive curve it actually fits on the 45'' 21:9 is where its at 32:9 this is not working out that much

Yes, if you pause and look closer - the text clarity is much better now. Almost no fringing, i guess with better clear type program it would be perfect. Some fringing still there on high contrast windows borders as far i can see.

Must be your monitor unit is faulty. I have g sync ultimate 240hz monitor and never had this problem and hopefully never will. I would consider rma yours if you need my opinion.

What about burn in preventions. I saw that qd oled are very common in burn in to compare with woled.

You can't use burn in measurements based on gen 1 QD Oled to determine a purchasing decision on a product based on gen 2 QD Oled panel structure. The reason is because they changed the blue oled material in gen 2 to use deuterium. Samsung Display claim double the 'durability' when compared to QD Oled gen 1 whether this refers to burn in is anyone's guess.

If you stress any oled with 8+ hours daily heavy usage with static elements without pixel orbiting and other burn in preventing options it will burn pretty quickly. I saw few burn ins on aw3423dw from people who use them for work. I would count this v2 qd-oled could last 3-4 years, rather 1-2 gen 2, but this is still organic based material panel, so it will fail sooner or later. I would hunt 34 inch v2.qd-oled for 750-900$ and use it ONLY for content consumption and watching movies, waiting for microled untill 2030😢

The pixel density that 1440p provides is borderline acceptable at 27" 16:9, you'd have to have really low standards to be content with this low a pixel density

Yeah the greying in ambient light is only barely improved however pinkish/purpleish tint has been changed to a more neutral tone so it looks darker in ambient light. Compare the shots of the monitor off in this video compared to Oled G8 off. The percieved contrast in ambient light should be significantly increased.

well i have talked with few owners of g8 oled 34 - they did say that this silver/white edges are NOT that bad in a real life, many did say that they actually like like a lot. In the dark room they are unnoticable. anyway there will be many other 49 -qd-oleds from other brands like msi-asus-dell? etc - so you can chose a model with black bezels pretty easily- but only in smasung monitors there are good speakers...so

Samsungs model also has the RBG halo ring at the back which will add even more ambient light into a dark room which might light up that silvery edge even more. Just feels like a perfectly black edge would have kept immersion at a max. Makes no sense to do this instead.

都是大陆up主顺便发RU-vid的，主战场还是大陆的视频网站。话说国内视频UP的水平绝对有的，我生活在欧洲小语种国家，这几年看见大陆自媒体水平进步太快了，虽然不能说可以跟英文内容分庭抗礼，但是绝对比别的语种内容深度广度趣味度都要好
