WORLD BALLET STARS is the seventh part of Geneva Dance Events' project to introduce Swiss audiences to the world's most extraordinary ballet stars.
The show focuses on all that is magical in the world of ballet today, and introduces you to the most sought-after "dance gods" and stars of the planet. You will see eleven astonishing ballets, with internationally renowned artists, principal dancers from theatres such as the Grand Théâtre de Genève, John Neumeier's Hamburg Ballet, the Royal Ballet of Flanders, the Dutch National Ballet of Amsterdam, the National Opera of Budapest and Astana Opera. They are much appreciated across the globe as dancers, but also as choreographers. This programme is an opportunity to discover their great talents in all these areas.
As in previous editions, we are offering our audiences a programme made up of extracts from the most interesting classical ballets, as well as modern works created by the choreographers of our time.
To surprise our audiences, we are presenting two new creations choreographed especially for the gala: "La Jeune Fille et la Mort" by Simone Repele and Sasha Riva, and "Confession de Nijinsky", by Claudio Cangialosi and a solo from "Harbor Me" created by the world-renowned choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

These exceptional artists will perform a never-before-seen selection of choreographies, adorned with the majestic references of classical ballet and contemporary dance: "Swan Lake", "Don Quixote", "Le Corsaire", "Nijinsky", "La Jeune Fille et la Mort" and more.
WORLD BALLET STARS is organised by Geneva Dance Events, a non-profit association founded in 2015 whose mission is to develop and promote a world ballet art for modern audiences. Geneva Dance Events aims to share the passion of classical and contemporary ballet, performed by the finest dancers of our time, with an international audience. The company takes great care to inspire and promote young local dance talent and to encourage the growth of ballet throughout the world.
It is thanks to its founder and artistic director, Vladimir Ippolitov, that this event came about. A professional dancer with the most prestigious international ballet companies- the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, the Opéra national de Bordeaux and the Grand Théâtre de Genève and founder of the Ballet School in Geneva, Vladimir Ippolitov has worked passionately to bring together these prestigious artists for one unforgettable night.
