So many jealous people commenting on this man's ability. No yoga isn't a competition. He is just showing us how far one can go with practice and dedication. I am very impressed and proud of this young man. I have done Bikram yoga for 30 some years and I think this is inspiring.
perfect yoga is the best yoga one can achieve..there is no relative practice... to use words like "champion" dilutes the purpose and beauty of the practice to begin with.
Yoga is a moving meditation and a loving act of kindness to the self, NOT a competition. Asana, or yoga pose, translates into "seat." Asana is about touching the soul and learning to be still in the mind while being in these poses. When we can silence the mind and fill our bodies with more and more of the breath that gives us life, then we bring peace to our minds. This is the true essence of yoga.
Yoga is neither a performance, nor a competition; it is an activity aimed at bringing about personal and collective health and healing. True yoga can have no champions, only participants.
There are a certain kind of people in the world that can take something spiritual and sacred like yoga and turn it into a competition. Yoga means to unite. Not to compete.
Kaspar is one of the most complete practitioners I have seen. Focus, balance, strength, flexibility, stamina and a huge demonstration of inner balance, too. There are only few who combine all these in the same way. Absolutely inspiring!!
...He's toned, but there's no way he isn't underweight. Way too skinny, the definition in "every muscle" comes from the lack of fat to cover it up. Having such low fat only prevents you from building muscle and reaching optimal nutrition, who knows how it's affecting him. This is why the people who do bodybuilding for competition have to go through periods of properly eating to build their muscles up large, and then cut calories so they lose the fat (that was supporting them healthily) for competition... which is all aesthetic :/ Our culture is fucked lol, obesity being so prevalent has skewed our perspective.
@@sacroustilleuh yoga and gymnastics and ballet make toned muscle and loss body fat so this is expected yoga or any sort of stretching is hard for muscular people that's why girls have advantage in it because of less muscle mass
@@sillymesilly im sorry but only because you compete it doesnt mean it has to be gymnastics, as it is not yoga either because its ideology , but it refers to some asanas .
So happy to see that many of the commenters are aware that yoga cannot be competitive, since yoga is union with the divine inside and out, promoting oneness with all being. But, Asanas can be performed with perfect form. Therefore, such perfection of form can indeed be put into a competitive setting to promote perfect form and inspire all yogis to see just what that would look like and how it is achieved. When you see someone so skinny still have to totally suck in his stomach before completing an asana it really lets you know that it is important for us all. You see how he breathes how steadily he moves, the concentration, focus, and smooth followthrough. It is a lesson in and of itself just to watch someone so adept in the practice. Of course, he may or may not have any depth of spiritual awareness, but that is not part of this competition.
Awesome. He is amazing n truly a champion, every bit of it is purest form of yoga. It only comes with dedication, practice, n concentration. Concentration comes with meditation.
You ppl r all so jealous. How can u not see his hard work in yoga. He is an advanced yogi. Dont hate meditate. he is amazing grace he doesnt need to breathe so much he is intune with his body his body and mind r one
people are not jealous they have misperceptions about themselves and others, are in the deep Dark. Reactions are totally predictable. At the mercy of their own negative minds. Christ already plead before the Lord to forgive our ignorance and weakness in this concern.
Really? Then people in circus are yogies too and they must have elevated to the spiritual level where they have gone beyond the mundane life? Postures don't give u any spirituality, you can be so flexible but your mind still be working at the same frequency as a non flexible person.
Perfection is everything and that should be 100% and it's satisfactory for the one who performs and who watch for both. Yoga is one of the supreme art bestowed upon mankind by man's itself.
My very first Bikram class ever my mat was next to Kasper's. I had NO idea who I was sitting next to! Everyone always says, "well I don't think I'll be very good" but you really can share your yoga practice with anyone no matter what your skill or fitness level. World champion and clueless newbie!
I see a Champion in flexibility..... but if it is real yoga.... I can not say. Only he knows. Yoga is a way of living.... if it is his Life.... then it is yoga.
Jonathan Fletcher You can see that behind him .. @06:28.. There are many world champions.. Here we call them Guru's.. And out of which at present there is a Guru.. Coolest of all.. Named "Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev*
The Asanas or the postures is the beginning in the journey of Yoga, the ultimate thing in this path is samadhi state (which we can say is NIRVANA). However, body is very important practicing Yoga make changes to our life physically, mentally and even spiritually. But, please don't carried away by the physical aspect of it, even though it is important it is not an end. Watching this person perform in itself a spiritual thing, he does that so easily, happily, gracefully, he looks so involved, it is amazing. A tribute to Patanjali (and Shiva, the Adi Yogi).
Yoga is not about expressing various dynamic postures. Real success depends on how long you can hold one particular posture without any fluctuations in mind or body.
Well, I am undecided on what to say. On one hand his performance is amazing, but on the other hand I had never heard of "championship" in Yoga, ever. Therefore i think I will just go with admiring his flexibility.
This is not bikrum yoga unless the room is heated, i see no sweat... but this guy is awesome, definitely connected with other worlds. Great respect brother...
I'm listening to set fire to the rain as the substitute background sound for the video. But isn't it what yoga is all about ?? Ying in Yang , Yang in Ying , both creates the harmony :) Thank you for sharing. 10 minutes of poses = 10 years of practice :x
It's crazy how amazing this guy is! BTW, I really don't see why competitions are wrong! When someone first starts yoga I don't think they even CONSIDER getting into a competition. So the number one motive is pure joy and interest shown towards yoga. Only after attaining a certain level comes the thought: "Hey, I'm pretty proud of myself for this immense growth, why not get into a competition ans show others what I've got...because I'm pretty proud of myself". What's wrong with this?!
What was more interesting to me than his physical prowess, and notable flexibility were the moments in between poses. There was seemingly very little flow or soulful elegance to his practice. It was more like a child's - albeit a very impressive one - gymnastics recital.
beautiful and inspiring. But I don't think I could ever make it to this level. I think yoga is part training but also some are more gifted with above-average flexibility. I bet some of those poses feel great.
There is nothing wrong if it where a championship. It would give people a goal or inspiration. More mainstream yoga would mean more people getting invited to the spiritual. There is no judgement, right or wrong.
I see asanas and an incredible flexibility, does he feel devotion on his practice?. yoga is not a show or a competition. Yoga is humble,life,soul,energy...
Meanwhile, I still work on getting my form correct after weeks of practicing yoga with the 8 point pose. It's so hard for me! Would love to have this guys flexibility and be this strong.
Are additional points scored for 'ability to withdraw the senses' and bonuses for the level of Dhyana achieved? Winner gets enlightenment? Though his asana is strong, I question the purpose of yoga competitions in general; whether something like this or photo competitions; even the endless postings of "Here's my latest pose" that many teachers like to use as part of their social networking. Many people are put off yoga as they associate it with the subtle supple posture porn that people in the West have latched onto. Yet some of the most gifted yogis I've met do little more than Xandranamaskar. It's all about being still of mind and present in the moment, and yes, of course vinyasa krama conveys that. To the point of ego inflation and done in a way which puts people off even trying yoga?...
