When your club wins the league in Germany you're called German champions, when you win the eufa champions league (continental competition) you're the European champions because you beat teams from other countries in Europe. Only when you win the club world cup are you called world champions because you beat teams from other parts of the world. How the F are you world champions when Boston wins against Dallas?

When it comes to basketball and baseball, those two sports get the best players from all over the world. So in essence, they are competing against the best the world has to offer, just like in track and field you compete against multiple people from different backgrounds. Even the NFL says world champion when someone wins and they can easily say that because unless you want to include the Canadian league, there is no football played anywhere else in the world, as was the case when baseball and basketball first came about and they ultimately expanded their reach globally.

That still doesn't make them WORLD CHAMPIONS. That makes them NBA CHAMPIONS. The Premier League is literally the biggest sports league in the World. That doesn't make Man City World Champions because they won that league. You have to then win the Champions League (which they didn't this season). Then if you win the Champions League you go into the Club World Cup in order to be known as the World Champions. You can't be WORLD CHAMPIONS or the NATIONAL basketball association it makes no sense!

That’s like saying the EPL is the best, but then UEFA proved by calculations that Serie A & Bundesliga are better hence more spots in next seasons champions league

Okay for all of you confused, they're not saying they are world champions all coming from one nationality, but world champions as in a collective team that would beat any other team in the world, the celtics would beat any team you throw at them from anywhere in world. Now if you were to remove players that are not American from the team then it would be a different story because a lot of the talent as of late has been foreigners outside of America seeing as how the latest #1 pick was Wemby from France. Team USA has been lacking as of recent because our star American players just don't want to go for some damn reason.
That's not what's confusing, it's just incredibly disrespectful when they haven't faced any team outside of the league. IDC if they have a 99% chance of victory, that is just an unnecessarily disrespectful title to give yourself when no other nation can compete for that. There are hundreds if not thousands of NBA caliber players outside of the NBA. Luka was a beast from day one in the NBA. You mean to tell me if the best players currently outside of the NBA create a roster, after years of competing vs NBA teams in a tournament, they would NEVER have a chance of winning? If you understand the implications, you wouldn't say that at all. There are plenty of sports where one nation or league is extremely dominant, and none of them call their local competitions where nobody else can compete a World Championship.
For that to happen, they need to play the best team in Europe. Don't say they wouldn't come close. Remember Manu Ginobili, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Nicola Jokic, Joel Embiid, Pascal Siakam, Luka Doncic, SGA ... you see where I'm heading with this?

I don’t see any professional teams from around the world challenging the NBA champion to a head to head. That silence pretty much tells you that the best in the NBA is the best in the world. It would be a good move to hold a champions league every 2 years just to see how the other leagues are progressing

By teams with players from the NBA right? That’s the point, the NBA is international…if you take those NBA players that play for their home teams, and put them on the USA team, it’s not fair…so when you play in the actual NBA, those are the best players in the world…
