totally don't understand why they have to talk that much, when its the drink that matters. It is OK to talk about the ingredients and the inspiration for it. But anything beyond that is a waste
Being the best bartender is mostly about showmanship not drink making. Theatrics play a big part in the judging. Being cool under pressure with being asked many questions while making the cocktail. Etc etc etc.
He's gonna competition for wcc so need to describe his skills and himself also. I don't think they are paying for cocktails in his bar it's competition
Oops - you just provided a link back to the entire competition video and he doesn't actually share his recipe as he is creating it, so....anybody else?
Bam,you are welcome ) 2cl Slipsmith V.J.O.P. 3cl De Kuyper Butterscotch 1cl Giffard Limoncello 1,5 cl Teisseire jucci citron 2,5cl Lemon juice 1 Bar spoon lemon curd (Found it on official IBA site btw, who would have guessed huh? ))
Please, for the love of god, if you ever try to make this cocktail do NOT put ice in your shaker until everything else is in there and you're ready to shake.
Why is Google/RU-vid ruining the Playback Speed function? It used to work just fine and now they've ruined it which means fewer video views. So Frustrating.
To be real, non of the presentations seems like someone competing to be "World Best Bartender". Local tournaments and presentations are by far more exciting, intersting and fluid than these Bartenders. Respect, and congratulations to the winner though.
the lady should not be invited back to judge again, she has no clue how to ask questions, she didnt even know what she wanted to ask. the bartender in the first vid legit just saved her ass from rambling for five minutes while simultaneously saying nothing.
Sooooo... do the judges and commentators even taste these cocktails? Yeah they look good and the stories are nice.. but do the drinks even taste good? Stop talking so much, make the drinks, serve the judges and let the drinks speak for themselves. Sheesh.
You can get almost all of these ingredients for a reasonable price or make them yourself. You can make these drinks in any shaker, mix in any regular pint glass, use any ice, any strainer. The key is doing it the best way for the drink. They have 10 minutes on the clock to make 5 drinks. I think that's a reasonable amount of time.
This guy translating the contestant is horrible at his job... Could have gotten a better one. He is absolutely unable to express himself and I do not even speak the language to really understand what he means, but loads of it got lost in translation (i.e. the blackcurrant balsamic flavour profile explanation)
all this BS that no one cares about interupting the ingredients in the cocktails. also its clearly not a COCKTAIL championship when so many other categories have nothing to do with the drink
Flipping bottles will be over forever with my new automated bartending machine. A power rotunda liquor bottle filled machine, perhaps out in the open or semi-hidden with clear plexiglass in front of it. An automated solid state keyboard is used to key in your favorite drink from a list of thousands. So don't worry bartenders, your jobs are still safe, the only difference will be to have The Automated Button Pushing Competition instead of The World Cocktail Championship.
If you find it boring go to another video, why waste time commenting. I found it interesting to see their flavour combinations and inspirations for their drinks.
