Just a couple things: First, thanks for correcting my mistakes (which in turn helps anyone else watching) with pronunciation or what appears on the banknotes. I wish I had the time to research the pronunciation aspect, but my time is spent pulling all the info in these videos from the country’s banks of issue, Wikipedia or other collection type websites where sometimes the info is very limited, or in some cases I just got the info wrong when compiling my notes or during filming. Lastly, if anyone is looking to acquire banknotes you can either contact your local bank’s foreign exchange department or an online foreign currency exchange service. Then you have to see if they will be able to obtain the individual banknotes you are looking for. Good luck!
You missed the coolest part about our Canadian bills! If you shine a laser pointer through the maple leaf the dollar amount gets projected on the surface behind it!
@@jamesbarham2033 lmao it’s so ridiculously Canadian. they’re also plastic bills not paper so no rips or water damage. You guys need to step it up. Edit: just ask Australia how they do it bc we don’t know we buy our money from an Australian company
The Australian notes are among the most beautiful I have ever seen, especially because of the see-through parts and the colours. They look more like collector's items rather than bank notes. 😄
The clear strip just came out in the last 5 years and it’s sooo pretty but we had to update all the machines that automatically swallow bills for you (atms, automated train ticket dispensers, etc) because they kept spitting the new notes 😂
@@jadefenner4971 it was so annoying when it was happening too because they were releasing the different amounts at different tines so they'd take the $5 bills fine but a $20? Nonono the machine doesnt like the new $20 yet. Wait a week and try again you unlucky bastard
23:25 that moment when he correctly calls it Elizabeth Tower with Big Ben contained within it. Not many people seem to get that correct, that Big Ben is the name of the striking bell not the tower itself! Nice!
@@brunaophi old and very few was ever printed. When collected by bank they will just take it and never give it back to you, they will give you two 1000 yen bills and never the 2000
They got their priorities straight! All we have here is sometimes a URL for a bill tracking database will be written on a dollar bill, so that you can enter its serial code and view where it has circulated.
This will sound stupid, but I didn't even know we had a new $20 note with the plastic strip dealie. Makes me realise how little I use physical currency these days.
Fun fact: The Australian five dollar note - from 2016 onwards - can be used as a 'stylus' to play a vinyl record. If the note is in good condition, firmly press one of it's corners onto a spinning record and watch in amazement as the note's material resonates and amplifies the sound :)
fun fact about polymer bank notes, they don't lose features if they go throught the washing machine, so it doesn't hurt when you remember that you left money in your pocket
As an Australian I’m glad you show our new bills and not the older ones as we added more features to the new ones Note it’s so weird to see money that I use every day being handled like a relic
@@thechazzler8934 they are technically legal, but there’s nothing stopping companies from turning them away which they do, a lot. Thanks Nan for the birthday money but it’s useless 🤣
The little transparent maple leaf on the top left of the Canadian bills smells like maple syrup when scratched! However the scent fades the more its scratched. the cloudier it is, the more it has been scratched and the less it smells of maple syrup. No im not making this up lmao
As a Canadian i definitely love the plastic type bills. I can't tell you how many times i have accidentally washed a note in the laundry. Only got it to be just a bit rinkled and maybe faded.
Canada has some nice transparent parts on the money it helps that it’s high quality plastic so less ripped notes and no water damage or really bad crinkling
The yellow circles you see all over the banknotes are called "Omron Rings" and are a copy protection. Every digital scanner or copier recognises these rings and won't make valid copies of the banknotes.
Nico they're more robust and don't rip like the older paper ones, they don't stick together and lastly they're not like "toy money" because toy money is typically paper
The pronunciation of Quaide Azam is 'Qaa-id-ae Aa-zum', thankyou for featuring PKR, I've been feeling low about the state of our country recently and somehow our currency being featured in my fav asmrtist video made me feel better! Love your videos!!
As an Australian i am really proud of our new notes and how good they look our old ones looked similar but less interesting the new ones look way better
Winston, a man who loved warfare and butchery, and that dealt a lethal blow to the British empire (his own country) by going to war with the Germans twice, and this man is celebrated as a hero, wow just wow.
@@epiclegowarrior7416 Which had he not done, there would be no Great British Pounds because there would be no Britain, no France, no Italy and no Belgium. He was a hero, not a butcher or a warrior! The British are true to their word and we got involved in the war in order to save our allies, France and Belgium: perhaps if you actually researched his history, you wouldn’t be so quick to dismantle him!
1:03:32 - By the way, 2 new banknotes have appeared relatively recently: 200 and 2000 rubles, but their design is very different from these three bills. Although there are watermarks in the form of weaves, a ribbon and one of the images on the lumen.
This is awesome. I’ve always loved seeing different currencies from around the world, I’ve got some from Egypt, Canada, and Russia I think. Very relaxing as well.
I've always loved this series. The breaking down of the details in each note, the little bits of history you add in, all the while being relaxing, I can't get enough. I was especially interested to hear what you had to say about the Australian dollar, since I am Aussie myself. You pointed out details which didn't even catch my eye while I was handling the notes. Normally, I just shove them into my wallet without a second thought but you've somewhat inspired me to take a closer look at them and find those intricate details myself.
I don’t know why US currency is so boring. These beautiful works of art from other countries only show how fascinating the world can be. My favorite ones were the ones from Australia, England, Mexico, and Russia. Stunning!
I always like when countries put natural icons on their currency, like wildlife. I'm used to USA bills which have a lot of historical figures but not much else. The coins are cooler though.
For anyone who is confused about the naming of Big ben : Big ben is the name of the bell inside the clock tower, the tower itself is call Elizabeth tower. :)
Hey Rift, my girlfriend of a year and 8 months broke up with me tonight. Been watching for a long time. I just wanna say thank you. You've helped me fight off my urge to hurt myself lately and general depression. Never stop being you man.
Dunno if he’s ever gonna see this or not so I wanna let you know that it’s gonna be okay, dude. Shit can suck - believe me - but it’s a common part of life and in the end it’ll make you a better and more well-rounded person. All you can really do now is take your time, process it, learn anything you need to learn, and move on. I’m rooting for you, never stop being you man.
Don't let this crash you down keep going you can always find love and happiness but both in your self, always keep a golden soul a heart of steel and a mind of ice in every moment of your life
Finally, mexican pesos! Gotta say i've learned a couple of things of them from this video 😅 the ones i liked the most were the australian dollars, very interesting and pretty desing, thanks uncle e
I love our Canadian polymer bills, but I really miss the old paper five dollar bill, as it had a picture of kids playing pond hockey on the back, and that’s about the most Canadian activity I know.
Fun fact about polymer notes. If you walk to the shop with one in your jeans front pocket, by the time you arrive at the shop, it will have disappeared.
23:57 is the maze at the back of blenheim Palace. 25:56 is based of a place called Margate in South England, the building in the back is the 'Turner contemporary arts gallery' and the lighthouse is Margate lighthouse which Turner frequently visited. Also another security measure is a set of dots which appear quite frequently, hence why some of these notes have circles all over them
Fun fact: There are microscopic words on the Aussie bills that apparently have stories from the individual on them. I haven’t tried to read it since year 2. I don’t know if that is still the case.
Finally seeing Brazil represented in one of the videos is so cool! I like collecting old coins from here, oldest one I have dates back to 1888, it's kinda rusty but it was a special type from when slavery was prohibited... Also I guess there's lots of people in here who deserve a medical trial at the Arkham Sanitarium
As an Australian, I am happy you finally covered our notes. Also our famous birds are the sparrow, and the the kookaburra. Seems like you had trouble with that aspect
The image on the British 20 pound note is of Nelson's Column if i recall correctly, a beautiful looking monument when it's not covered in pigeon S*it. Also there is a 50 pound note but that's still in paper and has Sir Alan Turing on the reverse.
I know you looked at the ‘british note’ but that’s only for the bank of England. There may be only minor differences but you should try get the Scottish bank note!
On the Canadian bank notes if you shine a laser pointer or look at a light through the maple leaf, the value of the note will be shown in a ring around the light or dot! If it’s a white light it will even be rainbow.
@@renorph9287 deve ser difícil pra ele conseguir mesmo, que é estrangeiro, teria que ir em loja de colecionismo. Mas, na nossa realidade, cédula de cruzeiros, até pra colecionador, é bem comum
Yes I’ve been waiting for the Canadian bills thank you for making my day! Fun fact there are actually secret images on each of the bills in certain locations and our bills are completely waterproof and pretty much impossible to rip and to all the Americans yes it’s monopoly money 5 dollars is blue 10 is purple 20 is Green 50 is red and 100 is Brown.
The building on the Queen’s side of the UK notes is the Bank of England, the Houses of Parliament are on the reverse of the £5 with Churchill. The symbols above it are the English and Scottish lions, Welsh Dragon and Irish harp denoting the 4 constituent nations within the United Kingdom. Blenheim refers to the birthplace of Churchill at Blenheim Palace. The images on the 20 note on the queen’s side are the Margate Lighthouse and Britannia, similar to Columbia as a female personification of a nation.
