How Linda ham wasn’t punished for her role in the Columbia disaster is beyond me she could’ve saved that crew yet she denied people access to getting photos of what damage was caused by the foam strike
@terrystowers312

I can’t prove this, but my theory is that she was the scapegoat for the higher ups. She was compelled to take one for the team and to fall on her sword. I know a person who held an administrative position with NASA at the time and “suggested”, ahem, that there was turmoil at the top concerning a couple of feuding public relations and systems management big wigs, and that a certain degree of ass covering was in play. NASA employed a lot of highly influential and powerful executives who were rather fond of their own ideas, particularly when it came to flying under budget, unless those ideas backfired. In that case a narrative was created that would satisfy the most aggressive blood hounds and divert attention from the upper echelon directors. It’s only an unsubstantiated rumor, of course, allegedly….

How could she have saved them?? There was nothing anyone could do once the foam struck. No one could repair the problem at that point. The rescue scenario is horse crap. It never would've happened because it would cost too much. Money is king. Easy to say they could've been rescued after the fact when you know damn well it never would've happened.

It wasn’t carbon monoxide that blew Chernobyl 4 up. The bottom of the fuel exceeded 33 gigawatts and heated so high that it boiled all the water creating steam that reacted with the zirconium fuel cladding creating hydrogen gas. The pressure blew the cover off, air got in, and the superheated graphite and fuel set off the hydrogen and blew a big portion of the fuel/graphite mass out of the reactor vessel and building. Also, the “elephant’s foot” is breaking down. It’s gotten a lot cooler, and way less radioactive. You couldn’t even enter the room when it was discovered, but now can spend an hour or more next to it before it unalives you. It used to be like obsidian glass, but is now crumbling into sand as the radioisotopes decay, and the radiation breaks down the crystalline structure. Oh, and I wouldn’t trust NASA to fly me to the freakin launch pad. Pigs in suits, and skirts, that get people killed by ignoring warnings should go to jail, but there’s a double standard, two sets of laws in place. People like them never face justice for anything they pull.

Profits over people. If a company doesn't spend the money on safety & environmental equipment, they save money. When someone gets hurt or there's environmental or equipment damage the insurance companies will cover the losses. What is not factored in is the human and environmental factor. The broken bodies, the broken spirits the broken families and the contaminated environment. Most will never heal. There's no amount of money that can cover those losses. Very few CEOs or politicians ever go to jail for their environmental or safety crimes.

Corps calll those "externalities" and they very much are calculated in. But mainly shown as a "simple" (lie) dollar value, Some things one cannot put a price on. Money (as in fiat currency and fractional reserve lending) is for seperating a TREULY TENABLE value, cost analysis from the avg human's ability to calculate it, if they ever start understanding that they have to start understanding the money system quick but they laigh at us because just these few seperations of words, terms and true meanings (not to mention derivitives markets and quadrillion dollar asset markets (which means lies lies lies as thats more then mankind has ever produced in all recorded history) thus has allowed them to relieve ~97% of the actual value of fia currrency and of course also from all private wealth (not just money, only peasants use money. I've been challenged repeatedly by a number of individuals when sharing my views that there WAS a solution to saving Columbia's crew by rushing the next scheduled orbiter into service and transferring the crew via spacewalk- they (the crew) had enough food and water to survive for almost 3 weeks - and the woman who BLOCKED the photos of the damaged left wing is still free to roam the planet like nothing ever happened - business as USUAL in this country- sad

1:23:26 Duluth was actually pretty lucky as far as that fire went. The fire completely surrounded the city on land, but it stopped before going down the hill. As it stands, the Cloquet fire ranks as the third-deadliest wildfire in recorded history. If it had continued into Duluth and burned the whole city, it would have easily ended up being the single-deadliest wildfire in recorded history, by a huge margin. At the time, Duluth had a population of around 100k, thousands of additional people had fled to Duluth from the surrounding area ahead of the fire, and if the fire had burned further into the city the only routes of escape would have been either to get on a boat or cross over to Superior, but the crossing to Superior would have been a helluva choke point-death toll would have probably been ten or twenty times that of the Peshtigo fire if the Cloquet fire had burned all the way through Duluth.

The Rabbit population exploded because both males and females reach sexual maturity at three to four Months, a Buck will mate with four to six Does in seven days, the gestation period is a Month average with the Doe ready to mate again within an hour of giving birth, and she can do that up to eight litters a year. Australia is 7.688 Million square klms with three quarters of that being perfect for sustaining Rabbit populations. Saying that "the Rabbit population exploded because Australia doesn't have large Carnivores" is seriously naive, there are large tracts of land which wouldn't support "large Carnivores" but do support small mammals, like desert regions where even a hardy Carnivore like the Dingo only ventures out of desperate need.

Sad that so many of these Columbia reports get one (I guess) unknown fact wrong. Humans DO NOT handle any part of re-entry. The hero of that day was the Orbiter's Flight Computer. It did everything within its capacity to save the vehicle. It used extreme rudder and even resorted to firing orbital maneuvering thrusters in an attempt to correct Columbia's extreme yaw. It did not give up its attempts until the vehicle broke apart. 07 Husband and McCool were along for the ride.

I don’t understand why we haven’t designed a safety pod for those guys and girls to launch in the front of the shuttle could be blast proof and have parachutes on it just in case if there was an explosion that could you know have little micro explosions to blast they compartment off and parachute down. I don’t understand why we haven’t designed a safety breakaway capsule for those space shuttles I mean my God it’s been 50 years or more 70 years. Why haven’t we designed a safety pod for those guys to launch themselves in the space in it wouldn’t be hard to make the front of the rocket blast proof and make it break away if something happened with a couple parachutes on it they would be nothing wrong with that. Would that be a great safety precaution?

39:22 for Feral cats. I'm socializing some to re-home on my channel if anyone in GA is interested in a very spirited kitten or older for possibly a barn cat etc. Otherwise I trap neuter/spay and release. But right now I have two kittens who love to be loved and petted needing a forever home before I fix and release them.

Crew of Space Shuttle told that there is 'No concern'........The American tax payers can afford to replace the shuttle, and the crew are expendable.......Plenty more people happy to be launched into space! It really is a fairly disgusting way of dealing with the issue. I'm sure that ANYONE who is qualified to get a job as astronaut are VERY aware that it's a job that has significant risks, and there is a high chance of ending up dead (Comparative to the majority of other jobs!), but IF a person is in a situation where they are EXPECTED to die during re-entry, I'm sure that they would prefer to know about it, so that they had a chance to pass on any last messages to family members, or make peace with their chosen 'god' IF they have such a thing. Telling them that the damage isn't likely to cause problems is totally morally repugnant!

@@LB1973 It not about the death toll remember it changed the wildlife life forever. Ruined habitats and made the sky dark for a long while. 60 is still pretty big on those days. Regardless, the heatwave we had was nothing compared to the eruption

I'm convinced that you missed the thyroid cancers in France and Germany. How many were discovered in Germany in the years after Chernobyl? France told its people that the fallout was outside the country and only after ten years had passed when thyroid problems began showing up that the government was forced to admit the truth about the effects of the fallout causing the thyroid problems. I've a friend who suffered from the fallout in Germany in the years after the event and takes a daily thyroid medication because of the fallout. And I didn't hear about the information that the Russian government never released or admitted to, so your report on Chernobyl is rather incomplete sorry to have to tell you.

Done what? PURE OXYGEN environment.. What the fu'dup'..? cooking 4 top near-'nauts. one widow had her own investigator given acess to examine (after LONG red tape delays) the control panel where fire was first seen and he had compelling evidence for an IGNITER behind the console. plus they didn't solder well at all and one spark, POOOOF. Murder? Questions still exist. Obv. some moon landing footage was 're-made' just as they still do by color shifting out of visual spectrum energy, into our visual spectrum. creating more of an artist composition of phonemena at best, but looks incredible. edit: accidently overtyped bunch of original reply, sry missing start of second paragraph..

I thought Columbia crew didn’t actually die until they hit the sea? Another documentary said they were unconscious but alive all the way down.
@AJ1987LV
@AJ1987LV 9 месяцев назад
It was in Challenger. They discovered at least 3 of these things that supply oxygen to their helmets were activated - I don't know how that thing is accurately called. During Challenger explosion, crew cabin separated and it's believed they were alive, but they did not had emergency plan, like parachutes to deploy which could've slow their fall, and they hit the ocean in deadly speed.
