Kharn, the only Chaos Astartes who would literally flex on the Loyalists with his swole arm. Lotara is probably busy getting the Conquorer outfitted for melee combat rn. Chainblades on the bow, more Ursus Claws, fold out giant chainblades on the sides of the ship so she can grapple enemy ships and rip them apart, maybe enslaving some genestealers to bait nids in for her to kill. Probably the reason why the Tyranids needed to specifically create an anti chaos hive fleet; she's out there somewhere hunting living ships of the Tyranids and Nurgle. There might not have been many things of appropriate size for Lotara to melee kill with the Conquorer before but now? Galaxy is lousy with appealing targets.

Honestly the world eaters not being the 8th legion makes sense. Khorn didn’t want them, he wanted the blood angels but sanguinius was saved from falling to chaos to save his sons. The world eaters are a consolation prize.

Fun fact about Kharn! The reason why his left arm is exposed and without a pauldron is because thats the arm he uses his chain axe for. If he were to wear a pauldron on his shoulder, it would severely limit his range of motion to swing his chain axe!

Not sure why they act so worried about doing an Alpha Legion episode; every episode they've ever done has been an Alpha Legion episode.

Something I think people forget about Lotara (when asking how this puny human could win the respect of the maddest marines) is that Angron chose her, and how significant that is. Angron did not choose the War Hounds, or the Emperor, or his brother primarchs, they were forced on him and he hated them, but he chose Lotara as his flagship's captain and he respected her rebellious nature and fearless personality. She was more like one of his gladiators than even his own sons. So to the 12th legion (who also wanted Angron's respect, but could never earn it) Lotara wasn't just some human or a captain, she was pretty much a saint. She was their Blessed Lady. The Word Bearers had Cyrene Valantion, and the World Eaters had Lotara Sarrin.

Bit of a shame there was no mention of when Kharn fought Abbadon himself in the Red path and it took Khorne sending a Bloodthurster and bloodletters to stop both of them killing eachother and how in the book how Kharn mostly saw Abbadon As a False Warmaster and generaly his warbands hate of the black legoin

Gotta love how everytime they talk about a non imprerial faction and DK asks how they are on the tabletop the answer 90% of the time is "They suck" or "They kinda suck right now".

I think the whole bit on Angron's psychic power is proof of Emperor's crippling issue of being this ultra-Lawful entity. His interaction with Angron would work a heck of a lot better if Angron was all about his psychic power, and instead of living a life where he was constantly shut out from any concept of compassion or empathy, had lived one where he could have nurtured that ability and used it to bring peace. Emperor is all about the concept of Law. There is one way, and he sees no other path. He made his decision for Angron, and for all his sons, and he was going to stick to it. Big E deliberated with his Custodes and Malcador, but that was happening less and less as time went on. The sons that he embraced the most were the ones who lived up to the idea he had for them in the first place, and he rejected the ones who had been thrown off course, dismissing the lives they had lived because they had "ruined" his idea for them. The ultimatum he gave Angron, when taken in context with the psychic power, is one where he was halfheartedly trying to get Angron to do "what he is supposed to do," stop the fight with his powers (which he no longer had, but the Butcher's Nails weren't part of Big E's equation) and breed compassion in a world divided by contempt. Angron's inability to solve the issue, in Emperor's eyes, was the equivalent of seeing an experiment fail, and so he gave up, and left Angron to fester as a broken being, because he was already broken without the power, and he failed his test. He made up his mind for his sons, and the forces of Chaos forced the curveball that is, y'know, life and growing up, in places that would, in fact, test their abilities like Emperor would want, just without their dad around to shepherd them appropriately in case they started to go astray. He made his decision, asked for no input, and Angron is arguably one of the biggest cases of that, of his idea that he can just decide how they should all be, even with outside factors, that "One Way" mentality that shafted him time and time again. That's also arguably why Angron was TRULY so angry. Big E probably made him to be psychologically nudged towards that way of thinking and acting, to some degree, and now he is eternally denied it, eternally unable to scratch this psychological itch implanted in him to become something he can never be, which makes his depression even sadder, because perhaps deep down Angron knew exactly what he was supposed to do, and those Butcher's Nails are the eternal reminder of how he lost all his friends well before that battle ever started.

My favourite things about Kharn: 1) He beat the ever living shit out of Erebus and was about to kill him but the other bastard cheated and got away. 2) He has a kill counter installed in his helmet that hasn't ever been reset, so it just keeps going up and up, probably forever because 3) Kharn can be literally too fucking mad to die, best seen at the Siege of Terra 4) Bonus: Just like Ahriman, he has pigtails lmao

Khorne actually doesn't care if you use guns. He doesn't care how you spill blood, he cares that you use your own skill to do so. If you're a great shot, you honor Khorne. The scientist who could use his knowledge to better others lives but makes a better bomb honors Khorne. The only thing Khorne hates is if you use psychic powers, because that's not you doing the killing, you're stealing the power of the Warp to do it. So Latara using her ship to kill people by the thousands, if not millions, brings a smile to Khorne's face.

It is funny that the entire reason for her posting to The Conqueror was some Naval higher-ups way of trying to hand her a death sentence without actually killing her figuring Angron or another World Eater would kill her for her Impudence. Only for her to become the closest thing Angron has ever called a friend since leading the 12th

For the Alpha Legion episode they should have two other people host and act like DK and Bricky the entire time

I moderately surprised that Bricky didn't add a single AMOGUS in a story about Lotara and crewmates that tried to escape the Conqueror.

Angron was a great guy before the Nails. Then Big E arrived at Nuceria and saw what a wreck the bastards down there made of him. So he gave up on him. There’s also the fact that when the Big E negotiated with the chaos gods for the power to make primarchs he had to accept that half of them would be claimed by Chaos. So, yeah, arriving at Nuceria the Emperor probably gave it a look and thought « uh, yeah, this one’s going to Khorne ; either way he’s too far gone already. I’ll just send him to the rebellious systems that needs to be traumatised beyond thoughts of rebellion, and when he flips, the nails will have made such a raving lunatic of him that it won’t be hard to put him down ». Then there’s the meta text from Games Workshop who wanted to make a point that in the GrimDark, all that compassion will bring you is pain and suffering until you go raving mad. Cheers ! ;)
