👍 Otto Widlroither's Concorde, wahrscheinlich sein 'Lebenswerk', ist das schönste und größte RC-Modell, das ich je gesehen habe. Und seit einiger Zeit fliegt er damit Acro! Früher war sie als AirFrance unterwegs, seit einiger Zeit als British Airways und mit metallfarbigen Tragflächen-Vorderkanten.

I lived under the flight path at Heathrow and we went out to watch the beautiful bird every time we heard it. Well done to the engineers who made this faithful RC plane and the amazing pilots. PS I slowed the take-off down to 0.25x and it looks far more like it was at LHR. It also shows the difficulty of controlling a delta wing at low speed on landing. I hope the landing gear fix goes smoothly so we can we can see this bird back where she should be soon.

With the noise it made you could not stay inside. Have been on the tarmac at Heathrow when the Cocord took off. the noise it produces at takeoff was painful.

I had the privilege of going on all 7 BA Concordes when I worked at Heathrow Airport I was fortunate enough to get a trip on the flight deck on a test flight even going Supersonic over the bay of Biscay something that I will cherish forever.

Such a beautiful plane. It did test flights around where my gran lived, my mother took movies of it. My dad designed the passenger seats for it.

Exceptional model and always a pleasure to watch but I have say this was not a well flown display of the Concorde on this occasion. Large bank angle over 60 degrees (2g) and unstable approach resulting in a hard landing. This model deserve better…

Please fly your Concorde and show us how it's done. The Concorde prototypes were rolled. Once in one direction and again in the other direction. Trubshaw is reputed to have asked his French counterpart to unwind it, Trubshaw having rolled in one direction....... so he did.

The landing is not that hard as far as model plane landing goes, they need a stronger strut and better shock absorber

Absolutely amazing 👏. You know some time in the future someone will spend the money and get the real thing back in the air. They're all still there apart from the one that tragically crashed in Paris.

Sadly, that will never happen as neither manufacturer will certify the airframe. RR will not sign off the engines. That's why Branson's bid was never serious, i.e. he did not have any support.

@@johnlacey155 but at what cost to reputational damage if there's another catastrophe ? Money does indeed talk but the combined spending power of BA / AF was not enough, hence type approval was withdrawn.

I'm just making a point that someone determined enough could actually do it, given that there is a difference between getting any one or two of them flying on a limited basis (which is vaguely possible/attractive given enough money) and regaining type certification, which I agree is very unlikely due to the unworkable economics involved.

At Heathrow for years there was a lage model of Concorde at the entrance of the airport, 40% full size...how long before these RC models get that big?

Wow. That plane looks longer in size than the Robin XDR400 I fly in myself. Do these XL RC planes require special insurance? I can imagine they can do quite some damage in the event of mishaps.

Could you alter the nose angles? The real Concorde only used 5 degrees taxiing and taking off, 18 degrees landing. Not sure the real Concorde performed loops and Immelmann turns either 😂

Having flown delta wing models it can be real hard to see which way they are oriented, particularly on cloudy days. This was a nice flying day

definitely one of the better concorde rc model attempts, nice job in general however, the droop nose and windscreen isn't entirely accurately shaped . Ill never really understand why these modellers go to such great lengths overall only to not pay attention to the real world nose and cockpit area and just guess how it should be.

Mannnn.... all he had to do was hold the same approach angle he was on during short final and a short little smidge of power just before touch-down, and it would have been perfect landing. Why did he start mucking around with pitch in the last 10 seconds. His slam-down landing was ten times harder than it would have been if he'd just left it ALONE!!

The real thing couldn’t be built today. Too many regulations and restrictions. Too many meddlers sticking their fingers in. The societal achievements in the 1960’s, including aviation, astronautics and engineering among other contemporary fields, were the direct result of the attitudes of the generation that accomplished them. The people who survived the Depression, fought the war and rebuilt the peace.
