World leaders outline global governance vision at UN Summit

United Nations secretary general Antonio Guterres called on the world to look for 21st century solutions to 21st century problems. He was addressing world leaders at the UN Summit of the Future, taking place ahead of the annual high-level UN General Assembly. At the two-day summit that ended on Monday (Sep 23), nations adopted a “pact of the future” to turn promises into action. Top of mind among member states were the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, and how to deliver on promises around climate change, emerging technology and gender equality. Entire world towards the US and its allies: For the love off all that is holy stop the god dang warmongering already! I, as an European, wholeheartedly support their sentiment. We must avoid WW3 at all cost.

tl;dr Remove veto power. You can't solve anything when a handful of countries can just say "nope" even when everyone else agrees.

The purpose of the United Nations is to... Unite Nations. Which cannot be done without multilateralisme, ie setting and striving towards mutual goals together. Such as tackling climate change, ending world hunger and ending wars. We no longer live in nations, we live on planet earth, together. We all share responsibility for ensuring the well-being of all people, all nations and the planet itself.

@@tonykiang9052 I am an optimist and I believe humanity can do this. But it will require stopping the wars and actually working together. Pretty much all people agree as all people only really want 5 things: Peace, Prosperity, Stability and a healthy and meaningful life. Which can only be achieved through collaboration and multilateralism but we have some old dogs that still believe it's the cold war in high positions of power that would rather build bombs instead of bridges.
