The Queen’s funeral: what we can expect over the next 10 days ► www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/sep/08/the-queens-funeral-what-we-can-expect-over-the-next-10-days
Dear Guardian News. This tribute u put together is very racist. U captioned it as World Leaders. Why haven't you captured the video tribute of at least one African President? Are we not qualified to be seen as World leaders? Is it only Japan and the European countries and Australia that are qualified to be called World leaders? We Africans and people of African descent make a fair number of territories which were once under the Queen in the Commonwealth. If you are doing this to us, it is totally bad and racist.
If she was still alive, she would say: "Alas, we are all mortal. Cry not, for I have lived a meaningful and fruitful life. I am thankful for all the time I had spend with all of you, but my time has come."
A Queen loved by many. She's in a better place now. My condolences to the family, I am saying this now as a fellow human being, sharing this planet with you.
My grandfather got a letter from the queen on his hundredth and it was the first time I had ever seen him break down and cry. It was that day I realised how much the queen meant to people, she wasn’t just a figurehead, she was her nation’s greatest pride and honour. Rest In peace your majesty and thank you for your 70 years of service
The day she made her speech when she was younger, she promised this. “I declare before you all my whole life, wether it be long or short, shall be divided to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.” She promised she would stay queen until the day she died, she was a woman of her word and she kept it. Long live Queen Elizabeth II ❤️
@@Medjayon not even a little bit. She dismantled the British empire, remained apolitical, had no say in her being queen, had to keep a stiff upper lip, live in dutiful dedication to her people, fought in WWII, and the list goes on. The only thing glamorous about being queen is the tiaras and ballgowns.
I mean she is the literal figure of the United Kingdom, the last ruling monarch of the British Empire being one of the last icons of the 20th century, her death will mark the end of an era
I'm French, not a royalist in any ways but I can definitely recognize how important she was as a figure to the United Kingdom and all the Commonwealth of nations and how her death is seen as a tragic news for our neighbours I know our respective countries have always shared a complicated history but I wanted to express all my sincere condolences to our British allies in honour of a woman whose existence will for sure be graved in the history books. Take care in those difficult times British friends🇫🇷🤍🇬🇧
I’ve always been a Republican, but I’ve never had a word of complaint for the Queen herself. I didn’t expect to feel as saddened as I am. The outpouring of genuine grief across the world reveals what a tremendously unifying presence she has been not only in our national life, but on the world stage. At a time when it feels as though new rifts and divisions keep opening to pull us apart, that is something I appreciate now with an acute sense of poignancy. Perhaps she was the most widely loved person in the world. Certainly she was a monumental figure, whose impact has been widely felt. I think we all feel that a great link to the past and a shared, positive, and constant presence in our lives has been lost.
The oath I took to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on joining her Australian Armed Services at age seventeen still rings strong in my heart. My Commander in Chief has now sadly departed. I salute you, for you always held your soldiers in the highest esteem and your support and sympathy was unbounded.
I'm far from being a world leader, just a guy in Argentina, but this affected me deeply. I am 29 and for me the UK means Queen Elizabeth II. My late dad was born in 1959 and died last year, all under her. May Her Majesty rest in peace.
The loss of the greatest head of state ever is felt the world over. She dedicated her whole life to the service of her people and country. She was a amazing lady and role model. Britain was so lucky to have her as their monarch
So heartfelt to hear this from an Argentine, despite the Falklands war with Argentina many years ago. This shows how loved she was. Thank you for your humanity.
I was never a fan of royalty but the queen was someone I always respected more than anyone else. She put her heart into her reign and made sure to let the public know she was there going through the hardest of times with us!
I was in awe of her. She is the longest reigning queen (70 years) and has a very long life. RIP for Queen Elizabeth ll from Commonwealth County, Malaysia
She lived a great life and followed true to her speech when she became queen. Her public service is unparalleled. She did her duties until her death without complaint. A remarkable woman. RIP my dear queen.
@@aconcernedcitizen6056 no one said it's the queen's fault, it's just weird that in the 21st century, people are talking about her death like a loved one died, hyping her up way too much. In reality, she and her family lived a luxurious life, which is only possible through taxpayers money, which includes the money of people who can't afford rent, are sick, have to worry about where they're going to get their next hot meal from It's just ethically questionable at best
@@chickenindabox3169 The monarchy is a net contributor to the treasury, again any issues within this country is down to the government to fix, any issues you guys raise are irrelevant. Also, working until the age of 96 is hardly a life of luxury
@@chickenindabox3169 The queen contributes more to the treasury than she has ever taken so if anything she is helping combat those issues. It’s the governments fault not hers. Do your research before slandering the recently departed.
I've always wondered what made the British monarch such an elevated symbol, even outside the Commonwealth... Even now, when I see more people grieving her than I anticipated, I am truly impressed by the amount of people who pay respects
Our iconic, unique, irreplaceable Queen was the true jewel in the Crown. Her death seems wrong - it felt as if she’d always been here and always would be, like the green hills and sparkling streams of Britain itself. My heart is broken. The Britain she leaves is unrecognisable from the one she was born into in many ways but she embodied its indomitable spirit. Duty, sacrifice, stoicism, grace, manners, humility, wisdom and humour - she epitomised the very heart of Britain and I fear we shall not see her like again. Rest in peace dear Elizabeth you shall be missed.
@@noban2730 your the one that needs help to make fun of someone's death is a low point for anyone who does such a thing I hope for you no one does the same when someone who is close your heart passes away
All Prime ministers and presidents are caretakers for a couple of years but her Majesty the Queen and the Monarchy is the only constant. No matter what happens, she was there with us thick and thin. Our moral compass. Rest in peace your Majesty. You will forever be missed😢.
What a laughable comment She did nothing as a state ruler. She was just there People who have ruled for a third of what she did have done more for their nation. Only a queen can be praised for doing nothing for all those years and put it down to sacrifice
I loved the queen because she reminded us that no matter what we face in life, always remain classy, composed, steady and strong. She never faltered from this message. A class act right up until the end.
Please be respectful when talking about the Queen!!! She was head of state, a monarch, a mother....to multiple p e d o p h i l e s and MOST IMPORTANTLY a devoted cousin to her husband.
Größtes Beileid für eine unglaubliche Frau. Sie wird immer mit Respekt und Hochachtung in Erinnerung bleiben. Sry for writing in german, but I see so many different Languages, and german is missing.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of the Queen of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II. Not only are the people of Great Britain deeply saddened by the death of the Queen, but the world is deeply saddened

@@JudeTheRU-vidPoopersubscribe no one has ever been 100% loved or 100% hated but she has, through her goodness and service and sacrifice won over the hearts of many more than those who hold hatred or indifference in their hearts ( which actually never has anything to do with the perceived object of hatred/indifference and hurts the perceived most )
These comments amaze me how much people have to hate on someone that has died just to make themselves feel better. You don't have to like her, but you should show some respect. R.I.P Queen Elizabeth II.
What should we expect - it's the Guardian after all! They absolutely hate everything about the royal family, British history and culture, wealthy people and white people in general.
She will always be remembered and loved. Thank you to all that have expressed their sympathy for her and the royal family. She was a truly amazing lady and person.
I have been thinking nonstop about this since we all first heard about it and I wasn’t sure what to say and now I finally realised out of the millions of words in every language there isn’t any words to properly describe her. Her majesty had an insanely rare impact on the entire world and not just the realms within the Commonwealth but every country everywhere, there has never been a monarch like her and I’m not sure if there ever will be another quite like her. I knew she wasn’t immortal but I never actually expected her to go, she seem not above death but like death couldn’t touch her, at least she died peacefully in her happy place. Thank you ma’am, everything you have done will never be forgotten, may you Rest In Peace with your beloved rock our Queen 💖
Loved the moment the Canadian Prime Minister made her realise her age at a formal meeting,"Thank you Mr Canadian Prime Minister for making me feel so...OLD" 🤣
Politicians everywhere should emulate Her MAJESTY'S grace, wisdom and decency. She was remarkable and the WORLD will greatly miss her. My condolences to the UK and COMMONWEALTH Nations, from Pennsylvania.
The heaviest loss for the country and the People, for so many people she was part of their life and memories, the greatest Queen of Britain and the world
Imagine that she was part of the victory celebrations at the end of WW2 when she was young! She knew Winston Churchill in Person! She saw the rise and decline of the Beatles. She lived through the entirety of the Cold War. And she was a certified car mechanic. Elizabeth the Great.
I cannot find the words to say how much respect and love I had for my Queen. I think a quote from a former Prime Minister of my country sums up my feelings. "I Did But See Her Passing By…And Yet I’ll Love Her Till I Die"
Definitely the end of an era. When people say queen they usually think of Queen Elizabeth II. She’s literally a monument. She dedicated her life to duty and service. May she R.I.P
Please be respectful when talking about the Queen!!! She was head of state, a monarch, a mother....to multiple p e d o p h i l e s and MOST IMPORTANTLY a devoted cousin to her husband.
It's great that I have lived in time where two of the longest monarchs reigned. I live in Thailand and part Thai, King Bhumibol was also a great monarch. We were also so saddened when he died, as he's one of a kind. And now Queen Elizabeth too, she made an impact to many in the world...so iconic!🙏❤️
She will be always remembered and love all across the world. She was a true epitome of grace, sense of duty towards her people and wit. Anyone who knew about her duty will feel losing her like losing a family member. She visited Nepal twice and had huge respects for Gurkhas. Love and Tribute from NEPAL
"The queen was a great and long serving monarch, What a shame all we've got is a bunch of fools left to talk about her!" RIP Queen Elizabeth II. You will be missed...
Agreed. What poor words of condolence and tribute from a lot of world leaders. Consider the Queens response to JFKs death compared to say, Joe Bidens few cookie cutter words. Even Hillary's words were better presented, and thats saying something.
Gorbachev. Now the queen. Can’t help but feel the symbolism of their passing during a time of big changes. The world is shifting in front of our eyes. We’re watching an era die and a new one take place.
We could all learn something about her death. About morals, about discipline, about respect to everyone we love and most importantly about loyalty. R.I.P
As an Australian Queen Elizbeth has always been important to all of us and when I heard about her passing I felt my whole body freeze and ran down the hall to tell my mum, we were both devasted
Thank you to everyone from countries, particularly outside of our Commonwealth family, for your kind words and sympathy. It is _very_ much appreciated (despite what some trolls might be saying).
Sadly there will always be people who are spiteful, as some of the comments here show. Me, I remember and honour Elisabeth Windsor not as a queen per se, but as a fellow human being, a person whose greatest contribution to life was made quietly, off camera and behind the scenes. Now at last she is free, of a burden none of us will ever have to carry. Free to be herself. Sleep well, lass. See you later.
the spiteful comments are mostly people from America, children or people from country's colonised by the uk but at the end of the day 100% of those people will lever have a legacy as great as her and will never be able to tower her achievements RIP queen Elizabeth II u did a great job
🙏Her greatest contribution to this world is whenever the world is headed toward times of uncertainties her presence and her speech have a miraculous effect on soothing the people hearts and giving hope to many people and she play a great part in uniting her people together for so long. 🌹May her majesty rest in peace and bravo for a life well lived.
I can't belive some people have the nerve to critize the queen as a “tyrant”. Have some respect for the ones who are mourning her death. RIP Elizabeth, you will deeply missed.
Agreed, it's a time of mourning it's a shame some people desperately need attention with negativity during a time that should be respected, she was still a grandmother, mother, a queen to our nation, a woman of great power, respect, talent and class that many looked up to. While it's fine for people to disagree there's a time and place, her majesty touched many's hearts, even me who didn't pay much attention to the royals feels the sadness in her passing. RIP Liz, may she rest knowing she fulfilled her promise she made at 20 of a lifelong reign. No one is perfect but she was certainly unique and kind to many.
man she was a great leader, a lot of controversies but every leader is not perfect. She led one of the strongest empire in human history and will forever be ingrave in the hearts and mind of all people. i am lucky to witness the longest reigning monarch in history. RIP
She didn’t even have any controversy’s that’s part of what’s so great about her. All people’s criticisms are of far gone British actions out of context which she had no part of.
@@anglonrx2754 exactly people need to research a lot more before they draw all sorts of conclusions. It’s black Americans that seem most confused. The monarch don’t make political decisions and majority don’t even realise.
Спасибо Британии 🇬🇧 за *колоссальную поддержку во все времена!!!!!!* Украина🇺🇦 благодарит, и низко кланяться все граждане страны. *Спасибо британцам за всё!!!!*

I'll always be against the idea of a monarchy, but even I have to say that Her Majesty was an incredible lady, and throughout unimaginable change and hardships in the world, she was the one constant. This is a very strange time now, it will take everyone a lot of getting used to.
I’m not a fan of the monarchy as an institution but I still can’t help but feel saddened by the death of HM the Queen. I loved her devotion to the nation and her apolitical nature, it’s everything you could dream for in a head of state. Now is the time to stand behind King Charles III as our new sovereign.
Among monarchs, Queen Elizabeth II will surely be remembered as one of the best. She did her duty and represented her country (and the Commonwealth) to perfection.
She was lost in an isolated world - and people do not like her as much as the media make out - it is grossly exaggerated - millions of people all over the world despise the greed and heartlessness of the Royal Family!
even if you don’t like the royal family, you’ve got to respect her majesty, she built our country and did so from the young age of 25, that is true dedication, she will be deeply missed ❤️
She gave her life truly to service and she never did self promotion or publicity. The global outpouring of love and grief shows what an extraordinary legacy she has. I cannot think of anyone else so loved universally who would be remembered in this way.
If she was still alive, she would say: "Alas, we are all mortal. Cry not, for I have lived a meaningful and fruitful life. I am thankful for all the time I had spend with all of you, but my time has come."
@@reardelt Noo China already expressed Condolences, India especially, and Russia, as far as Russia is an asian nation, also. Narendra Modi also told an interesting story how she showed him the handkerchief of Gandhi himself on an occasion.

Not a single black president in this video with so many commonwealth countries in Africa and Caribbeans with black leaders also giving their condolences too. What was Hillary Clinton even doing in this video?
Not every black person is the same just cause they come from Africa (AN ENTIRE CONTINENT). THEY HAVE SO MANY TRIBES. DO YOU THINK THE PEOPLE OF SUDAN AND NIGERIA ARE THE SAME?
In a small country, at the farthest edge of the commonwealth, as a man who never met or knew anyone who had met her, even I can recognize that a great lady has passed and despite my eternal optimism, I feel that world is poorer for it being so. This is truly a momentous occasion and not one that I will quickly forget. Lest we forget Elizabeth the Great, the Queen of the people.
@@lpsmaduk If Trumpenstein's orange monster turns up for the funeral there will be riots. The only other living ex-president who won't be there is Jimmy Carter but that's because he's too old to travel, the Clintons, Obamas, Bushes and the Bidens will make up the US delegation.
We're all just average people nothing more nothing less. I appreciate the Queen teaching us all this, life is life and at some point we all pass away, I wish her love, so much love.
Oh Yes! Nothing shows me more that we are all just average people than a person dressed in expensive dresses, wearing spectacular jewelry, living in a palace, having several different palaces... Yes. She was just like us.
@@siggilinde5623 wow commenting on respectful comments to an elderly ladys death with disrespect is a lovely thing to do, you must be a lovely person, i think the queen living rent free in your head is enough punishment. Must be jelous that when you die no1 will care.
I’m Irish and I’m obviously not a monarchist but even though Ireland and Britain have no doubt had a love/hate relationship I send my deepest condolences to the royal family. 🇮🇪🇬🇧🙏 Her Majesty’s visit to the Irish Republic in 2011 was probably one of her greatest successes. The improvements in Anglo-Irish relations would not be a success without her, and I’m hoping her son King Charles will help continue those improvements. 🙏
tbf they might not have recieved the news yet or had time to prepare remember when the news broke most of africa and asia would have been asleep and australia would have just been waking up
So surreal, it feels like we fell through a wormhole. We have a king now. I've only ever heard "the king" talked about in historical TV dramas, yet we'll be saying it for the next century or two.
Maybe now, all the critics of this very special Lady The Queen Elizabeth II, will realise the imensity of this loss, London and UK will not be the same with any other monarch. R.I.P. Queen😔
Vladimir Putin as well, though he didn't attend the funeral. He said she "rightfully enjoyed the love and respect of her subjects, as well as authority on the world stage. I wish you courage and resilience in the face of this difficult, irreparable loss. May I ask you to pass on sincere concolences and support to members of the royal family and the entire people of Great Britain." He met her multiple times too, being hosted by her and her husband in a 2003 state visit. His spokesman said the queen was highly respected in Russia.
