Every year, more than 80,000 people are diagnosed with lymphoma, the most common form of blood cancer, that Joey Ramone succumbed to, and more than 700,000 people are currently living with this disease.

This man was a somewhere between a folk figure (like Paul Bunyan) and a Saint outside of the established Catholic or Orthodox churches. I really wish I could have met him. I heard that he was an amazing human, perhaps he was beyond human. I think Joey, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury were a few people like that. May they all rest in infinite glory.

@@luciahernandez255 he ventured out of his home to close his therapist's office door in a manner he thought was the right way and upon walking home he slipped on ice on a sidewalk and broke his hip. The treatment for his broken hip meant that the treatment he was receiving for lymphoma had to be halted temporarily and during that window of time, his cancer returned with a vengeance. He clung to life for two or so months in New York Presbyterian Hospital before he just could not handle it any more. He was listening to the song In A Little While by the Irish rock band U2 when he died. His gravesite is located in New Mount Zion Cemetery in Lyndhurst, Bergen County, New Jersey.

..ma non si poteva aiutare joey..con un trapianto di midollo..dato da un familiare ..??.scusate ..forse non conosco bene di cosa soffrisse/joey..era un leone sul palco..possibile .che se ne vanno sempre i migliori?
