Seems like a cool car at a great price point. Trying to redeem the bad reputation and factual flaws of the Pinto name is very brave for Ford to invest in. Hopefully the new car changes that. Plus there is 40 years of time gone by and a lot of younger people have no idea what a Pinto was or ever seen or heard of one. I was 11 years old and learned how to drive a manual stick shift transmission in my sister's '71 Pinto in 1976

Should they have named it Fiesta or Taurus, Escort, or how about the Mustang III? I would have put Focus on that list but the Focus actually was a really good car for rally racing even though it sucked as a daily driver. I just looked at the production numbers for the Pinto(2 dr, wagon, hatchback, etcc) from 1971 - 1980 they manufactured just shy of 3.2 million Pintos. That's a lot of cars. Hahahaha although in '78 they recalled 1.5 million of them because of the fuel tank issue that included the Bobcat versions.
