Biggest mistake was letting 360 cars run their A main first it was a wreckfest took forever and they laid down a ton of rubber track was eating right rear tires during outlaws A main
@@derrike50 So they can sell more beer. Just like the 30 minute "track work" between features when you see a show is ahead of schedule. There's a certain time that most tracks like to keep you there until, and that was on full display last night. They didn't start hot laps until 7:10 local time and there was a support class. That's all you need to know about when they wanted people to go home.
It really wasn’t a great race. Sheldon took off to a 2 second lead with blue smoke rolling off his tire every corner. That’s why he was the second one to blow his tire. He blew it early enough and everyone in front of him eventually blew theirs.
@@CopperBlue28 there was tight racing all over the track. Sheldon blew his tire early enough that he was able to change it come from the back and win. Thats racing and part luck.
What you don’t see in this highlight video is many cautions for everyone blowing tires . It took forever to get 1 lap in with 6 to go , cars were blowing tires under caution , Larson was last guy on his right rear , everyone else blown theirs and came back through ,
If they would have gotten even a couple more laps in in succession without all the restarts I think Larson steals that race, by the skin left on his tire. Everyone else blowing tires at the end , and all the restarts and laps on Larson's tire proved too much with no laps being taken off the board.
@@ribbs67 no if that stayed green sheldon was gonna blow his doors off, too fresh of a tire. One of the reasons he was able to march back through the field. Kinda smart to shred your tire early if your the fastest guy out there to give you time to march back through the field and also for everyone else to blow theres ends up behind you.
You could see how different he drove taking care of his tires. Even when he loses he was still better than every1 else since he made his tire last the longest amongst the leaders. Larson is on another level
The blowed tires were part of the strategy there. Haudenchild couldn't catch Larson with a worn tire so he spun it till it blew then came out with new rubber...
@@mhm8222 Wtf do ya mean he couldn't catch Larson?!!🙄😒 He had ALREADY CAUGHT & PASSED him & was IN THE LEAD WHEN IT BLEW!! (Are ya too f'n stupid ta not realize that!!🤔🙄).
No it wasn't great racing. It was painful to watch. The driver who drove the best and managed his equipment the best didn't win. I love Sheldon, but if the race would have had a few more restart he would have burnt up his second tire.
@@jeffmorris3789 its just how the night went. Sheldon did amazing getting back to the front. I thought all the drivers did a great job not having a huge wreck. Definitely agree tho a pit stop is not normal for woo, but saving your car really isnt either. Still love watching them run tho
You nailed it. Haud burned your that right rear early and got a fresh one on and was able to march right back through the field while everyone else raced on old tires. Definitely a huge issue at this track. Too much rubber down
Sounds like they ran a lower division sprint car feature before the WoO feature, and they laid down a ton of rubber on the track, which cooked the tires of the higher horsepower Outlaw cars.
No disrespect b/c you’ve got to love a driver who knows one speed, but Sheldon blew his tire at the right time. He only needed to pass Sides and Pittman. The other 12 cars in front of him blew theirs.
Lucky for him I guess, but I'm sure he didnt want to have the right rear go down he had a big lead, but what a show he put on just to get back up front to win
Glen Wolsky commented, "What you don’t see in this highlight video is many cautions for everyone blowing tires . It took forever to get 1 lap in with 6 to go , cars were blowing tires under caution , Larson was last guy on his right rear , everyone else blown theirs and came back through." Thanks for that Glen. I was wondering how he could have possibly won that race from last and you explained it perfectly. Great racing though....anyway you look at it.
I believe he only had to pass 2 cars because what you didn't see was everyone blowing tires except larson with 6 to go. I believe larson may have been one of the last on his RR
this is a perfect example of SELF pitting during the first caution when you see a track take rubber so early. If you have a car capable of winning, you pit during a caution & change the tire, make an adjustment if possible then go out & win. Or maybe there are rules against that? I don't think so
The track was very dry as the night went on and also super windy so all the dirt was practically dust and slicked off very easily. When it slicks off then it’s like asphalt almost so it was like everyone was drifting on asphalt with a sprint car which basically shreds the tires.
@Bruiser McGillicutty he is right. Had they put a harder compound tire on then they could've lasted. They just all ran too soft of a tire. And quit being Mr. Tough guy. Take that crap somewhere else with your uneducated a$$
Dont forget Paul Silva, Larson's wrench, cuz no way wld he be THIS good without him. Of course Larson is good but with Paul, they are unstoppable, LITERALLY
Fresh right rear when everyone else was on old (and in probably bad condition) right rears. Also, I would guess that a lot of these guys were seeing the tires issues and started trying to take care of their tires better. Most likely slowed them down. Haud knee he had a fresh right and could push as hard as he wanted.
No. Huset's ran a 360 feature before the WoO feature. The 360s laid down a lot of rubber and that caused the Outlaw tires to overheat and blow. That's a big time mistake on Huset's part.
Obviously most people on here do not understand what happened in this race. You can physically see it. That dull black streak in the slick....that is RUBBER. When a track rubbers up, it has a ton of grip in that lane, but it also wears down the tires really fast. You all should consider yourselves lucky.....because it didn't lock down. One question....Johnny said something about the drivers smoking their second right rear....did they throw an open red and let all the drivers put on new right rears?
I think everyone eating the outside wall was not helping either. And the first run under green was pretty long so I am guessing a few of those tires glazed over as they cooled :(
They had an open red but I think it was just to refuel the cars cause they had it before Larson blew his tire, so I suppose they didn’t let them change them 🤷🏼♂️
The guys who blew theirs first almost ate through their second. Haud was 2 laps from blowing another thats how much rubber it took. Everyone blew their right rear at one point throughout the race. Guys who blew early were at the advantage but they almost lost another tire
If they are going to run that many laps they should have a planned or mandatory tire change pit not real justice if the guy who took best care of his tires fines he's worse than poorest bc his went at the end. Could even be a caution change and get position in the pit if you can change faster, but something didn't seem right even though I like 17 ok to win probably 57 earned it more
@@darikfox2665track was dry and abrasive, never seen a tacky track smoke the tires! Ya ever had to buy tires for your race car after running a dry abrasive track? I have
None of those guys were planning on blowing their tires early so they could battle back through the field. Especially Sheldon because he was leading at the time and didn't have other tires to look at to gauge what his might be like. Kyle ran smart and if it wasn't for all the blown tires at the end and all the unexpected restarts with no laps counting , he has a good chance of pulling that one out. Think about how many restarts they had with 10 laps to go. Every restart was basically and extra hard lap added to that tire. Coulda shoulda woulda..but I'm betting Kyle's tire hold on if even only half of the restarts don't happen. It will be interesting how the track crews and drivers approach tonight's race. I give Sheldon credit for "Driving the tires off of it for the win tho..It ended up falling into his hands at the end.
This series kept taking back laps ran. They reset 2 completed laps back to back. Donny and Logan should've been a lap down, because the leader definitely completed a lap before the yellow was dropped. Tired of this series screwing the 41, because whenever he blew his tire in the middle of 3/4 before Larson took another lap, they kept it green while Gravel was rolling the top like a dead man. Preach about driver safety, meanwhile the Golden Boy Schuchart nearly bowled through an entire team's crew in the pits, should've black flagged his ass for wreckless driving.
IDC, Larson was still the best this night cuz he wlda won had there not been, how many cautions? 10? 12? Idk? The only way we will ever see domination like this is, some1 cheating with big motor or traction control or if people cant afford sprint cars in the future & the competition weakens a great deal. This is UNBELIEVABLE
I was at Huset’s tonight. Every single car blew its right rear tire. This video doesn’t show all of the blown tires. Pittman and Haudenschild were first to lose their tires, Larson was last. It ended up working for Sheldon. Just a bizarre race.
@@theginganinja-_-7695 He drove around him because Kyle knew it was a rubber race. Sheldon got a 2 second lead while blue smoke rolled off his tires every corner. Did you see the line Kyle was driving? He was hardly turning. It's too bad the strategy didn't work out and 22 other guys blew their tires before Kyle.
