Actually, that's pretty interesting. If used correctly, it could be capable of clearing a minefield. With the siege mode, it can burrow the front armor into the ground and then raise it up after moving forwards about 1 to 3 feet, and then lifting the front to clean out any mines.

The tank is not versatile. Quite the opposite, it is very specialized.

WG has destroyed it now, any gun over 120 mm will penet it no matter what you do. angeling dosn't matter.

One of the few tanks, sure, but I'd say the vast majority of vehicles can be driven and operated by a minimum crew of one person. That's nearly every every bicycle, scooter, sled, motorcycle, car, truck, airplane and helicopter, to name a few.

And nearly all airplanes needs ground personell to function regardless of their pilot requirements Most helicopters follow the same they are mostly operated by 2 induviduals Trucks are also vehicles where you for the most part need another induvidual for it to work properly at stages of use. But is in general a design for 1 induvidual Scooter and motorcycles are generally driven with one induvidual in mind same with cars A sled required alot more then just the driver to function... same goes for all form of animal based labour... And if where to keep it to military use theres nearly no vehicles used with few exceptions thats designed to have a crew of 1 in mind that serves a active combat role. To clarify theres about 10 people needed for any one airplane to do anything from lifting off to getting the clearence to strike a target. And yes one guy can operate this tank reload it and all maintaince of it in the field by design, same cannot be said of 99% of military tech these days. Or tech at all.

Most common helicopter built has a crew of 3 at minimum 1 much like above its by design built to be effective with more then one induvidual.

Interesting concept. Made and built for hidden ambush in a pure defensive role . Very complex hydrolics system . Must be a headache to mentain . Costly too . In gameplay terms it is a tank destroyer, and there is no such thing as the MBT in World of Tanks.

Definition of "Tank Destroyer" from Wikipedia: "A tank destroyer or tank hunter is a type of armoured fighting vehicle, armed with a direct-fire artillery gun or missile launcher, with limited operational capacities and designed specifically to engage enemy armoured vehicles." It might be classified as a Main Battle Tank, but MBT's are generally defined by their versatility. This tank isn't exactly versatile, so surely you can understand why people refer to it as a tank destroyer?

Exactly as SongOfLogar said plus the fact that we can probably get another 3 lines of swedish tanks. Light tank/Medium tank line, artillery and another tank destroyer line.

They wouldn't be much good for offensive operations in their original forms. If they had to be modified extensively to improve their usefulness, the same amount of money could be spent more effectively on tanks with turrets.

You aim the twin mg's just as you aim the gun, following the tracers. The commanders remote controlled mg has full 360 coverage.

Given the size of the slots, I would think there is at least some sort of control over the twin machine gun's elevation and perhaps even a little side to side movement.

Could be. But I'm definatley not sure. Must have been 12 years old (30 years ago) since I was up close to one of theese. Was allowed to climb all around the inside of it. Fun :)

Tier 9 td the Strv 103 got no fence but the tier 10 td the Strv B got the fence. And the fence is there mostly to break down heat shells rather then HE. he will stil explode and deal a good amount of dmg even if it hits the fence in the game.

well what is a role of a main battle tank?... for me it sounds like being decent in every area. a tank that can work in attack and defence... sounds understandable but i have a hard time see it that way on this tank... strv 103 is an ambush tank pritty much same role as the tank destroyers had durring the ww2 thats why i see it as a td

It does not have a turret that can be rotated 360 degrees ( it has no turret at all :P ) and therefore it is not a tank. But in Sweden we call it a "tank" due to we have other criteria.

Not really, only everything with a calibre of 121 mm or more can pen it. That is all the mediums excluded, heavys tanks from france and america. So the only ones able to fight it will be the Germans, Russians and japanese/chinese. So, you can conclude, it is very op for all guns smaller than 121 mm but prey for all guns 121+

if they bring in the overmatch mecanic, allot of other tanks will become way more OP. they need to find an alternative way to boost the effectiveness of the swede armor. wont happen this patch but they will do it next patch, they didnt give up on the idea to make swede armor relative, they just rejected the idea of the overmatch change would FUCK things up for the rest of the game.. the already "op" russian tanks would be unkillable from the front.. gl penning the is3 and is4 turret top., not to mention the obj 140.

actually what they did was to add a angle limit to the overmatch mechanic 76"for x3 which made the tiger II stronger

not from the front you wont, especially not when you have the Anti-Heat bars on the front.

+Dawn Polhammer yes, just add "armored" in front of what I said. The less formal name for tank in Swedish is "Pansarvagn", to match the full German word you could say "Pansarstridsvagn" but nobody really would. Compound words make names so much cooler, take note english!

Yes. However, Strv itself is more of a Main Battle Tank and less of a pure TD it was classified in WoT.
