Small fact : The Chinese character that you can see at 0:27 means 'Lightning Fish', which most Asians use for referring to the torpedoes.

It's not necessarily _lightning fish -_ it's actually closer to _fish thunder_ or _fish bomb._ Gunpowder utilizing weapons in East Asia were in many cases classified with the suffix 雷/Thunder because they made a _thundering_ sound. In Japanese, the term 魚雷/gyorai/lit. fish bomb, torpedo comes from 魚形水雷/gyokeisuirai which means _fish type water bomb_ literally. Bomb because they explode, water because they're used underwater. Fish because it swims. If it's detonated mechanically you have a 機形水雷/kikeisuirai, lit. _mechanical type water bomb,_ which is abbreviated to 機雷/kirai/naval mine. Depth charges simply explode, so they're written as 爆雷/bakurai/exploding bomb.
