WoW: Extinction, the Void Lords break through the realm barrier and consume Azeroth, their ensuing fight with the Titans, including Sargeras, wipes out everything in the universe.
Beautifully realized. In game it feels like the loss of life was just brushed off, but this captured it perfectly. Wish the actual world was reacting more to silithus being decimated.
Man, not only does it tug at the nostalgic memories of all the time you’ve spent there, but it shows the trivial futility of those low-scale, endless conflicts when compared to the cosmic-level threats sitting just out of sight at any given moment. I found myself feeling sad for every last person and creature there. What a moving video! Amazing job!!
I felt sad for the exact same reason. All those wars and fights you were a part of, either implied by lore or actually through PvP... invalidated by shitty writing where they couldn't keep it in their pants, and had to reveal the entire fucking universe and all its mysteries. Instead of just writing a good story in a medieval fantasy world... Garbage. Great video though.
Yeah...I assumed this was Blizzard until I read the comments. I read the title too fast and didn't look at who made it. He made a really good demon hunter one too. Which I also mistook for Blizzard until I saw the account name. -.-
They should add something similiar, as you could see what happened to everyone during our siege in antorus when sargeras stabs silithus. Or yeah just put this up with his permissions.
Really? I do admit that Blizzard kind of glossed over the fact that there were indeed people living in Silithus, and we mostly got that *phew* sensation and felt lucky the sword hit such a barren and desolate place. This is a really good showing of how the sword did in fact kill a bunch of people. However, I can't say that I agree with Blizzard doing a poor job of showing the tragedy of the night elves in the burning of Teldrassil. The quest where you have to save, I think it was 100 or 1000 people (?) but it's absolutely impossible in the given time frame was, in my opinion, an amazing way of seeing and feeling the tragedy.
@Zerebrat Eightyseven yes it was soo hard!! I felt so bad when I only managed to get 20-25 :'( I didn't know it was timed so I took a really fast break before heading into rescue mode xD
I looked it up - Kilauea's lava is 1000 C+, shuttle re-entry measured 5000 C+ just past the tile protection (there's an air cushion effect), so take it from there. P.S. Shuttles re-entered slowly, compared to most.
Blizzard messed up by not having an ingame massive pvp event in silithus with a countdown as well as the sword slowly falling. Abit like ffxiv with the calamity
Might as well control the one thing you can: How you react to your own death. "Fuck it" was both amazing and dramatic but I couldn't help laughing at the end because it was just so....IRL human. Nailed it.
You made me feel bad for the silithids. I mean, you always fight and kill them without a second thought, but when it comes down to it they're just simple animals. Seeing them running for their lives but having absolutely no chance to survive felt a bit too real.
They are only beast without any personnality, on the chess they are only poin, but they are like ant or wasp or any insect soceity they are a comon spirit
Dennis Dubose the cinematic for legion was different from their in-game cinematics. They make ONE for every expansion. I'm saying their in-game ones aren't as good as this one, and tbh they aren't. No one is lying.
Antonio Are you talking about the cinematics like Gul'dan defeat etc? Because those are way better than this. If you're talking in-game in-game, then yeah, duh, this is better. Those cinematics aren't edited really.
Caius Juvonen Illidan defeating Gul'dan is not as good as this. They hardly even have lighting in that one. This one has lighting, custom facial reactions, and blood. Blizzard has never had blood before, or at least from the ones I've seen. And they have cool camera angle changes like when it went from the blood elf to the night elf. Blizzard hasn't done that yet. But it is just my opinion, at the end of the day. Edit: look at the detail on the sword at 1:51. How can you say Blizz has done better than this? It looks frikin real! Blizzard's always look like the 2004 graphics.
I'll be honest, my motivation to play wow at the moment is at an all-time low. This video though, reminded me of my first days of wow. Playing a game and embarking into a world that was so big and had such limitless potential. Thanks IK, for renewing those feelings even if it might be just for the moment
Yeah no this has little to do with the early days of creeping dungeons and raids being the oddity. It looks like a lived in world though. gotta give him that.
Bartoc that comment was spot on. After all these years of playing, sometimes I wonder why I keep going. So many of my family and friends have stopped and my original guild that I had so much fun with has long been gone, but I keep thinking somehow, someway, some day I can get that feeling back. But you're right, it likely never will come back.
While in game wise for the current wow timeline, it would be dozens at the outpost at most and maybe a few hundred silithid. I don't think the horde or alliance had much purpose there after the war of the shifting sands. Especially with the threat of the legion any remaining forces would be reduced to skeleton crews. I find some appeal in carrying things forward which the game doesn't do so well.
In lore everything is bigger than in game. The horde and alliance have no reason to be there, but the cenarion circle would for sure be trying to bring life back to the land, and the twilight's hammer is still there in large numbers. Hundreds at least.
Best machinima ever. I wish you'd make the burning of Teldrassil like this... The scene when the Blood elf looks up after being shot then everything is obliterated is just.. breathtaking
This right here, has to be the best WOW fan made cinematic I’ve ever seen. The moment when the blood elf got shot and looked to the sky as the sword came down was very powerful it had me crying. The feeling of hopelessness when such a thing strikes is really powerful and you captured it extremely well here.
The thing I love most about this, is the attention to detail. Look at how the people start to burn before the fire even reaches them, simply because of the immense heat that's being pushed forward. This was amazing.
I always HATED the creepy silithid. Killed hundreds of them myself. But there was something about seeing then flee for their lives, desperately trying to cling to life and so afraid, that made you feel for them and want to save them.
@@Kyletheskulldude7 I love how it only wiped out one zone - An impact like that would have destroyed the entire continent and damaged most of the world.
@@banjothefox9263 the asteroid that cause the mass extinction of the dinosaurs was around 10-15 kilometres wide, so yeah the sword should of just destroyed most of the planet, the atmosphere? It’s gone, all life probably down to microscopic levels would of been extinct, but thankfully Azeroth has Lay lines, and magic, and eldritch gods, and guys like Medivh who are probably planet busters at full power
After almost 2 year i can say that this video is already iconic When i think about the end of legion expansion i imagine that human dying in the flame not Sargeras ora something else
Un'goro is below sea level, Silithus is around sea level. The sword pierces through the crust deeper than the insect caves way below sea level in Un'goro, and reaches into the sky much higher than the maximum amount that your mount can fly. There is no way to explain to someone the scale of this event, they have to see it for themselves.
The part when the night elf shoots the blood elf and the sword hit Azeroth is breath taking this is so amazing I can’t even explain how awesomely talented this guys is
That and the Human warrior running and excepting his fate lets the flames take him at 2:15 was just as great as the Blood Elf and Night Elf. Too bad this isn't in the game would of made that patch cinematic SO much better.
This video is very powerful, when I first saw the news about Silithus destroyed, I was like “a 10 year old zone with like 15 boring quests, on settlement and creepy insects getting destroyed? Well, better destroying this shithole than some beautiful zones”, but now I really feel bad for everyone who died in silithus, even though there were not many. The moments when sword hits the earth and when a soldier accepts his death are very strong, and makes feel sad for them, and even for silithids. RIP to all cenarion druids, warriors, adventurers, silithid, and qiraji who were unlucky to be in Silithus during battle for Antorus. Also, Blizzard should hire you, these machinimas are amazing.
Exactly, the thing is not about if the cinematic is good or not, (which I personally think is awesome). It's about a moment we knew already happened but this shows this last moment of the old and known Silithus and the last breath of people there. It's really sad. When I first came to silithus I couldn't stop wondering what have happend with the living beings who used to be there.
Yeah I mean I get the human embracing the flames is cool but can we talk about the Blood Elf looking up at the sky after being shot? THAT WAS AMAZINGGGG
I loved that a bit more then the guy dying by flame but I want them both as screenshots, please tell me someone actually saved these as screenshots so I can use em'?!
it was meant to show how irrelevant the conflict between the 2 factions really is compared to things like sargeras. it didnt matter who won the fight between the 2, it didnt matter that the blood elf lost and died, because a mere second later, everything there burned to ash.
“The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things..”
It was a seemingly sunny day in Silithus, a rogue stood watch on the tower, the horde had their camp at the nest of the silithids and single skirmishes were going on in the desert, a human warrior rode on a black silithid near the entrance of an'qiraj. Two Riders came from Un'goro and and headed to the cenarius keep was exited by two raptors and their riders while a paladin and a rogue entered the keep on horseback. One Tauren entered the egg cave under silithus and held up a torch, one human warrior gathered something from the desert while a undead rogue went to ambush him in his endeavour. One female rider rode through a battlefield filled with twilight cultists like it was nothing to her. Then a great and big shadow entered from above, a glowing top of a sword entered the zone at a rapid speed while one orc warrior and nightelf druid watched it from the gates of an'qiraj and a elven tower, one human paladin fought a troll shaman, one night-elven hunter pierced the heart of a blood-elf rogue with an arrow of a crossbow who fell on her knees and looked up at the sky, seeing the burning sword in the sky, opening her mouth in shock as the sword destroyed the cenarius keep like it was nothing, sank deep into the crust of the planet called Azeroth. To the sword, everything was the same, silithids, the horde, the alliance, every living being in the zone was turned to ash in less than a minute, the silithids fled into the tunnels but the fire didn't stop there, it burned everything it reached, silencing the cries of the silithids. As a few adventurers including the warrior who gathered something earlier ran from the fire in hope of escaping, the warrior looked back, slowed down to a walk und widened his arms as he embraced the fire, as if he didn't wanted to die in fear but go out in a blaze.
Édouard Manche you don't only need to be good, you need to work FAST AND GOOD and you need to follow other's ideas in cinematic making, its not working alone man and making one cinematic per week, you have tons to do and you are not free like alone, its a job
Puppespreu probably because their country was a victim of Russia's actions. Usually victims of geopolitical offenses don't take too kindly to those who commit them. Not that I'm justifying his hate, but I can certainly see what invoked it.
...there just are not words. this was amazing on so many levels. this seriously should be ingame. magni should show you this after explaining that the cost of victory was really friggin high that day. while you where patting yourself on the back and collecting your loot this was happening down below. brutal and somehow tragicly beautiful. I salute you. o7

omfg!! how?! lack of dialogues and pathos. there is no big fireworks like in the main movies. simple and beautiful... and why I didnt see Your movies before?! like and sub!!!
@ 1:45 when that Elf looked to the sky in her moment of dying, one wonders what the last thing going through her mind was, seeing the end for everything probably in a 20+ mile radius. Between the somber music and no dialogue it really captures the despair and hopelessness of the situation that nothing in the area will survive this attack on their world. In general when everyone looks at this all I can think is if I were there, it would appear that the sun is falling and there's nothing that can be done to stop it. I wonder if this is along the lines of what the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki saw when Little Boy and Fat Man were dropped on them.
one of the best scenes is the blood elf getting shot, looking up, and realizing what was coming. and this is for a simple reason: it was meant to show how irrelevant the conflict between the 2 factions really is compared to things like sargeras. it didnt matter who won the fight between the 2, it didnt matter that the blood elf lost and died, because a mere second later, everything there burned to ash.
bugs get cuter the closer they get in size to a puppy, a puppy with a shell, once they go beyond puppy and reach horse they get significantly less cute. of course if they happen to reach human size and have vaguely humanoid appearances then it's ok to fug the bug. these are the rules of bugs in videogames, they do not apply to arachnids... except for the "fug the bug" clause, that applies for all vaguely humanoid creatures/entities/hypothetical concepts.
Is's a Master - Work, 100+ Cinematic Designers from Blizzard, and this from you - i think, work in Blizzard, and the Game was already Epic more and more!
Why reach out to someone who is better than the the whole company at creating cinematics for WoW? They would admit they suck as a billion dollars company
np :) hf and enjoy this Extro of World of Warcraft ... for me WOW ( from WC3) ended with the defeat of Sargeras ..now its loke WOW 2.0 we even began to get each other as enemys ...its a REBOOT and the Snapcount in this reason is even more fitting .... you can say the CLOCK START when the Snapcount ENDS !
