If you have a very good listen to this entire track and try to figure out what is going on in the track, it's actually a medley of themes from WotLK or Arthas' past: 0:00 - 1:30 - WoW main theme 1:30 - 2:27 - The vrykul 2:27 - 4:08 - The expedition to Howling Fjord by Arthas against Mal'Ganis or by the Alliance and the Forsaken 4:08 - 5:48 - The conflict between the Silver Covenant and Sunreavers 5:48 - 7:30 - Conflict with Illidan 7:30 - 8:09 - The call to arms against the Lich King.
+Nightronos To be honest Woltk hardmode was much more challenging in terms of gameplay and bossfights than vanilla wow, which was basically a gear check most of the time. I do miss vanilla the most though, but if I were to play it again on a private server I'd like atleast some improvements made in TBC & WotLK to transfer over, the token system for tier sets for example, seeing a boss drop a tier piece for a class and then realizing noone of that class needs it is quite sad.
Yeah but vanilla and tbc difficulty wasnt true difficulty. As the other guy said, it was a gear check. Even hellfire citadel in wod has more complicated mechanics than anything in vanilla or tbc.
Vanilla and tbc just seemed to be harder as gear was so stupidly broken and important, not trying to trash vanilla but way back then the game was really broken. Which is why barely anybody got to experience raiding content.
best expansion of wow! dark fantasy setting, great instances and raids, snow almost everywhere and icecrown was EPIC. plus the soundtrack It was the time of Arthas who was everywhere even when you were leveling up. Now you get PANDAS!!! P.S Warlords of Draenor is the last chance to make things right for this game
It's because his body was affected by the unholy energies that kept him in a state of undeath. Think of it as the juice, but in a necrotic form of essence. Unholy might as they called it.
OMFG faved! totally awesome man thanks for posting- I'm so listening to this in Naxx10 tonight (tanking /flex) I've been hoping to stumble across a compilation like this, and lo and behold here it is. :) Music is nearly as epic a Pirates of the Carribean, maybe more so in its own way.
I remember ever time I logined into this game I would hear and listen to this epic theme song for the Wrath of the Lich King man this game was my childhood in the early 2010s, ahh those were the good old days!!!!
The Best Music of all Add Ons. I hope this emotional feeling and the dark prevailing mood are come back with the next add on. The Epic North of WoW with its Fallen King.. Arthas.
Carl Frisén Cata was about a fucking dragon shitting our world, we are going to an alternate timeline to slaughter a shit tons of orcs with some Burning Legion things, pandaria was a bit darkish too with mogu/da dandarking/sha things but the brew and fluff just hide it.
I have to say that I think that Wrath of the Lich King was the last time WoW was really good. The main antagonist, while poorly written at times, was the baddest mofo on Azeroth and loathed by everyone. Northrend was outright awesome in every way. Game wise, it was near perfect, with difficulty spanning the gamut from easy to hellish, and everything open to all in one way or another. Hardcore work was rightly rewarded, while those who just wanted to play and have a bit of fun could still see everything with a difficulty curve they found acceptable. Wrath was, to the playerbase, balanced for everyone. The only people that really complained were those that thought endgame content should be exclusive and felt that the only way they could see themselves as top-tier player was by denying things to everyone else. And the Arena PvPers, but they complain about everything anyway, to no surprise to anyone. Safe to say that I really miss Wrath. Cataclysm was garbage for everyone, but magnitudes worse if you played Alliance like I did, and Mists was bland and rife with just as much one-sided factional bullshit and crappy writing for everyone not on Metzen's preferred team. Now Warlords is come out, and it's looking like it's just going to be another horde romp, which is as much a disservice to horde players as it is to Alliance ones. Yeah. I /really/ miss Wrath.
I love this peice so much. I have to say that at 0.45 though I always get goosebumps, the build up and then a thunderous noise. Begin the battle, love it.
This music gives me chills.. STILL!! I don't know how or why, but this song has got to be one of the most epic songs. It's beautiful, it's powerful, it takes you somewhere else.
everyone says they hate it and shit and bag it out. When they didn't even play the game at this time i first started playing and i was 12 years old and was like in awe when i first entered as my orc shaman still will never ever forget what i did on that guy true place in my heart
Well, it really depends on what your good and evil is. You start as a part of the Lich King's army, but at the end of the quest line for the Death Knights, the Lich King casts you aside and doesn't want anything to do with you. You were a mere pawn in his mind.
No need to say that this sounds like other songs. They took their old, epic songs, and mixed them together with a new one. To make this epic piece of music. And it is, indeed, epic.
+monotonous Im 28, never had a gf either, stopped playing and the freedom is awesome. Games didnt help me in anything except learning English. If you knew God, he would free you from that any many other things that take freedom away. :) I meant no offense :)
This theme bring back so many memories. My favourite expansion hands down. I miss raids like Ulduar and ToC. Hell even OS was fun on hard mode (especially when you got super cool dragon for yourself as a reward from guild master!). Good old times ;_;.
WotLK is when I started. Best intro music for sure. Miss the old days when I was a noob. The game was so much more fun and exciting. Now its just grind grind grind.
I agree. Wotlk was their finest work. The lore, cinematics, quest areas, raids and item builds were amazing. I quit as soon as cataclysm was released. I played wow since it was released. Cataclysm killed it for me.
i don't even play anymore, but i nearly crapped my pants reading your comment. "I feel proud to say that I am an honorable member of both factions" whahahah roflmao, just priceless!
The battle quickly escalates as Scourge are torn to shreds, while siege machines hail fire upon the Scourge, then the Scourge somehow turn the tables. The soldiers of both factions seem to simply fall. The Lich King then walks out upon the walls to witness the battle. Then, the Horde and the Alliance unite as one, forcing back the Scourge. The Lich King then enters the battle and silents all.
I heard it comes out a week before Chirstmas, but I also heard it from the same people who said that Teldrassil will burn. Thanks for giving me a more reasonable date.
When I hear this, I always imagine a run of ICC, where the last dramatic piece of music is the Lich King battle, until the final legato, where I see Arthas at his knees
I like that with the every expansion pack WoW has out, they incorporate music from the other expansion packs into the new one. I wonder what Cataclysm will sound like...
These are the lyrics: "We are paid to sound scary, dramatic music is dramatic! Tremble at the approach of the hospital bed, it rolls toward us all! They protrude from your chin and compel you to chivvy the yak, soberly! Somberly! We dine!"
@DrKillaser Pandarens were created long before Kung Fu Panda and at one point Blizz considered including them in the first expansion, which was still a full 2 years before Kung Fu Panda came out.
I can imagine it: Kor'Kron soldiers marching and standing firm against the Scourge, with the Alliance soldiers standing next to them, marching in unison to the walls of Icecrown Citadel, as the gates open, unleashing hundreds of Scourge upon them. Hell breaks loose as the roars of soldiers and the Damned mix. The Pustualnt Giants are then unleashed upon them all, giving a certain challenge. The Cult of the Damned attack from the walls as the soldiers of both factions tear at the Scourge forces.
I miss these days, you just dont get the same sense of urgency or epic game play with Cata like you did with WotLK, BC, or Vanilla. Rest in peace World of Warcraft, you were awesome while you lasted....
He said "Pretty amazing, wow is the best that ever happened to my life, I love it and couldn't live without it, it's the world's most played game. There! :>
It truly was! I liked cata because it revolutionized questing. and TBC because of Outland and its pure awesomeness. I wasnt around in Vanilla. I started around the end of TBC so i kinda "grew up" in WOTLK.
i think this is the best piece of music in wow of all times... sometimes i just stuck on the menu and listen to this song... if i just found the .mp3 of this..
@TheGrahamAker You do make some very valid points there. The Pandaren are really only part of the expanded universe, and I was REALLY hoping for the Emerald Dream for the next expansion. =/
