To be fair, I think the Kagero gave him the win, not so much by accident.

Really great replay, but it was obvious that that Kagero was throwing on purpose, he wanted that Shiki to have his deserved solo warrior and that amazing comeback. I mean, the ingame chat even asked for it :D

16:57 to be fair to the kagero, Clogwalker and their team where asking for the kagero to be a sport and give the solo warrior which the kagero could've easily just been a good sport and followed up on that request

I think you've overlooked one of the main draws of the Shikishima: namely the SOUND of those guns.

What you call "I wouldn't recommend speccing it for secondaries" I call: "Oh look, a Harugumo strapped to each broadside!" It is entirely possible (And a LOT of fun) to build the Shikishima (And by extension the Kii) for secondaries, but you have to know the hull in and out. The rewards for doing so are hilarious: Seeing Thunderers melt due to just secondaries is the best feeling there is.

This replay is the living embodiment of the "Well, that escalated quickly" meme!

I was like "wow, the team sucked.. and this guy not doing well". Then I remember Jingles.. and then saw the massacre.. Jesucrist.. he one shot almost all 6 remaining ships!

The USN has traditional names for crew also. There are snipes, twiggits, deck apes etc. the best is for the medical corp...pecker checker lol

Even pilots are called drivers in many airforces, probably for the same reasons, it's funny. It's not uncommon to hear phrases like "I was an F-14 driver" or "I was driving my Phantom around all over [conflict zone]"

Kind of the perfect game to narrate over. Got really interesting at the end. "Cabbage Mechanics" I lol'd. I barely played WoWS but I find these videos soothing and hypnotic.

This battle is like the successful last stand of a legendary Samurai.

There is more to Shiki than Yama: - gun sound - better secondaries and longer range on them - better AA - less guns, but in-built legmod of Yama and faster reload (and with Yamamoto kicking you can get to almost 15s, which is crazy!) and last but not least - it is a premium, so free captain circling. And while you may want to have your Yamamoto strapped on Harugumo, your only other option as a T10 BB is the Shiki :)

As a Shikishima owner, yes, yes you can spec for secondaries. It has a Harugumo strapped to either side of the ship and in a full build you get 11.3km secondary gun range. Is it practical or advisable to run secondary Shikishima, no. But you can do it.

Chefs= Baitlayers... fitters and turners, and probably a few others I cannot remember.

"AcTuAlLY JinGlEs" the Shikishima is not just a Yamato with 3x2 510mm guns. It also swaps its 12x2 127mm secondaries for 10x2 IJN 100mm guns off Haragumo (in two different turret styles) with an improved range (11.3km with full build) as well as swapping most of its 3x25mm AA guns with twin 40mm Bofors. Making Shikishima a semi-viable brawler, despite its hull, and a not insignificant AA compliment either (it has the most Flak puffs of any Battleship). While it might be more "meta" to play Shikishima much like a Yamato, in general Yamato will do the sniping thing better than Shiki, especially if you invest in Yamato's amazing Legendary Module. So you're either left with playing Shikishima like a worse Sniper Yamato, or getting in there and using your onboard haragumos to shred enemies, which is fun if you enjoy brawling. (Plays best at the outer edge of its secondary range, compared to ze germans which want to get as close as possible.) The only real issue I have with my Full-secondary Shikishima is that since it needs IFHE for the secondary pen, it can't perfectly share commanders with Mikasa.

Whoa...that replay was stressful. First 15 minutes of Jingles talking to himself about why he got Stalingrad over Shikishima and that it was the right decision for him. And then 3 minutes of ... I can't even find the right words for that.

In other news, The Mighty Jingles has a saddle. No word if it’s for driving an ostrich, camel, or a horsie.

I'd just like to say that I started playing world of warships only 2 weeks ago and your videos have been very helpful for me...I can't believe how expensive HMS Warspite is though!!!

The Shikishima is doing exactly what the Project A-150 ship was meant to do: be a force multiplier and go against multiple surface threats single handedly. I found it funny how Jingles was talking down the Shikishima as it was quietly deleting ships one after the other. lol Btw.. I don't have the Shiki, but I have the Satsuma and Yamato, and I brawl in both.

I got the shikishima mainly because I’m a BB main and i don’t really like the french, they’re basically floating loafs waiting to be toasted. I do build my Yamato/Shikishima captain for secondaries, and they’ve proven viable in the past. Mainly though, i got the ship for it’s gun sound. It’s the ONLY ship in the game (until Incomparable) that you can hear firing from the other side of the map. I’ve heard a shikishima firing it’s guns at 24+ km

I agree with all your points, except, it is hilarious, that you talking about the ship as if it was not a carry-machine, as it carried the team to victory, it was funny. Another awesome video! Happy 2022

I enjoy playing my Mikasa. Secondary build. it's just fun for me. Set waypoints and mostly just watch the fun of the machine gun Mikasa. I only have two Battleships, that one and the tier 5 Italian battleship that just appeared in my port one day. I didn't purchase it. It was just there. I gave up on playing BBs, because destroyers. That was years ago now, I spend most of my time driving a Tank in WoT. I missed you while you were on vacation. glad you're back.

See, that's the secret of the Shikishima. It's main battery reload time is so fast that it can play like a Stalingrad at end game, and it does so much damage that it's perfectly capable of removing every target in one salvo. Yamato would never have been able to do that with it's slower reload speed.

I don't know, but I personally am convinced - by this video - there may just be something to the Shikishima. As a Battleship driver, and yes I realize that makes a big difference in this issue, there is something deeply satisfying about seeing enemy ships fly apart like so much cord-wood after I've hit them once. Dead by a thousand cuts is still dead, but dead by one simple , shattering THUMP has a finality to it; there's a "what the #e!! was that?" which you do not get in any other ship short of a detonation.

Cabbage Mechanics LOL - my dad told me that term 20+ years ago and I'd forgotten about it. He was Merchant Navy not RN, so it looks like it was a general UK naval term. He was also in the RAF where cooks were apparently called Slop Jockeys.

You know jingles this title is fucking hilarious cause I had "BITS" or "Back in the Saddle" training today.

Hearing Jingles talk about the Shikishima, it's pros and cons kinda made me rethink my decision on getting it. I mean, I already have the Mighty Yamato and when I saw Shikishima with 510mm guns my brain was like "Aw hell yeah." But then I saw the French fun boat and now I'm deciding on what to get.

Since we were on the topic of naval terms. i just want to point out... when you get boxes in WOWs and are in the screen to receive the, sometimes you see the guy polishing the torpedo. In the USN, we have a...saying.... Well.... many for that particular phrase. 'Dave is in the head polishing the torpedo' or 'WTF were you doing in there? Polishing the torpedo?'. I just find it hilarious that every time, I open a crate, it makes me feel like, I am rubbing one out.

More interesting fact is that clogs although popularly associated with the Dutch are not at all a typical Dutch thing. The wearing of clogs was a very common sighting among farmers all over Europe in the past. Just like the rest of Europe the Netherlands stopped actually using them ages ago.

I got the shiki before the bourg, and I did it for the sheer fear in brings to the enemy team. Look at them run lol! Also the sound of thunder coming out of these barrels. All in all, this shiki gives the feel of a capital ship and the feeling is glorious

Probably should have titled it "Back in the Straddle". In the US Navy, officers drive and enlisted steer. To become Officer of the Deck you do have to spend time on the helm. At least you did when I was getting qualified in the late 70's.
