Richthofen has unfortunately been forgotten in the modern meta. So sad to see such a great carrier be left out. It can still deliver some incredible CV snipes tho. The plane speed and the AP rockets allow easy wins against CVs such as Malta and Nakhimov.
As a very new player (only started this month) the Russian CV feels the best. Attacking with the entire squadron just makes much more sense in my mind. What's the point of attacking with only 2 planes and then coming back to see the rest of the planes go shot out of the sky.
Welcome to the game! Russian CVs are definitely great. It's one drop is its blessing and curse. If ships turn into your skip bombs or your rockets, they negate more than 70% of the damage. The advantage of having multiple attack squads in one flight group is that you can line up the second shot and land Much more hits. Don't forget you control flak. Best of luck!

I recently came back to the game and I'm still trying to learn the new CV gameplay, I kinda miss the old system, and I've been sticking with my Japanese line. I just finished grinding out the ryujo and can buy the shoukaku but honestly, playing Japan has been kinda lacklustre to me. Most of this is probably skill issue but here are my problems playing Ryujo: - I have no idea how to fight DD's: * the rockets take forever to land and there's no way to determine how much to lead besides just going by intuition/instinct/experience (I usually just try to imagine where's it's going to be 3 seconds in the future) * the torpedoes are only launched 2 at a time and seem quite slow, not sure how fast they are compared to other cv lines but only firing 2 makes them extremely easy to dodge * the dive bombers are useless, you only drop 2 bombs and they're AP anyway so at most you deal around 650 damage - I really dislike having only 2 planes per attack run * I checked the shoukaku and hakuryuu and even they only ever get 3 planes per attacking flight, except for torpedoes which stay at 2 * Having a very low attacking flight size is probably a positive since you can theoretically do multiple attacks but I honestly struggle ever getting more than 1 attack off per squadron so I'm not utilizing it well, but having a lot of planes in the flight guarantees that you always get that one attack at least Here's what I like about the Ryujo: - The AP bombs usually get citadels on cruisers and battleships which is basically 10k damage - I usually land both torpedoes against larger ships which feels nice - Secondaries seem to do pretty high damage but have a slow firing rate - The dive bombers and torps have a lot of boost Things I'm neutral about: - I don't really care about survivability or secondaries, at least not yet, as far as I'm concerned a spotted CV is a dead CV so unless the more survivable CV can actually tank long range shots they'd just be dead anyway Right now the biggest reason I'm sticking with the Japanese CV line is something you haven't even mentioned in the video, which is the Sekiryu or just super CV's in general. Super ships weren't a thing last time I played so I'm interested in them but I don't know any specifics about how the matchmaking works or if they're even worth playing. The idea of jet torpedo bombers flying at 300 knots is quite intriguing. Do you think I should stick with the IJN and that it'll get better once I get more used to it or should I switch to either Russia or just save up for M. Immelmann? EDIT: or maybe just wait for the new line with the Essex to release and play that?
Nice comment! So first let me arm you with this site where you can compare stats between ships. Very popular. Doesn't have everything but it's pretty good. You can ask for help in the CV mains sub channel or in the gameplay help channel. It's also very easy to share replays on there so people could give you feedback, myself included. Next regarding the lack of Super CV talk: I personally don't condone the use of super ships. I've used them and they are fun but it's just disgusting overkill for this game, in my opinion. Additionally, all supers are specifically designed to be credit sinks; not meant to be used over and over as they have a purposely high credit cost to keep you from using it often. As far as what you should focus or use: Hakuryu and the IJN line are precise carriers. IJN flight groups punish your reticle(precision) the most compared to all other lines if you adjust after you've begun your attack run. Because they drop torps 2 at a time and because they are so specific, you can aim exactly at the bow and stern of battleships to avoid hitting torpedo protection and getting floods. Give yourself a few practice sessions like I did in the training room. Start off against no guns on moving bots and practice your lineups. Then again vs guns on not moving vs a few ships to practice your flight path against flak while getting strikes off. If you continue to have challenges, ask yourself what you're doing wrong or what's the issue. Is it hitting flak, target selection, plane management, ship positioning, map awareness, or just hitting ships in general. If its the latter, and after you've shared replays, then you can think about moving to a different line with confidence that the Hak line just isnt for you (which is fine!). The last thing I would ever recommend, is trying to save up for one of the tier 10s. The balance between plane speed/hp vs aa/flak moves into the AA's favor the higher you go. There is just much less room for error, and if you're running out of planes or not getting second attacks now at tier 6, it certainly won't happen at 10. Hope this helps!
Awesome video. I’m a new player and I love the Royal navy. However all I have read is that the Royal navy CV line is really bad and that the RJN dominates the meta. Is this true
You see all the CVs in-game. Truth is, random battles are just that, random. In NA, with all the DDs, Audacious can do some serious work. Myself and another few CV players actually think she's underrated. Long range cruisers are a but of an issue, but you can really impact the DD gameplay which usually drives wins.
It's not bad, you really need the game to go on for a while though. Impact vs DDs is sub par, so div up with some DD players. It's a good change of pace to be sure.
@@mercRus even without DD this line deals more damage than midway line. It is a support CV but deals even more damage. There is something wrong with this.
