The SAP really is the mental weapon by definition to deter any DD rushing since that is somewhat a big problem as it happens quite regularly. Also I like the addition of the spotter plane having the ability to finish of your work if it runs
Probably unrelated to the video but I bought Mogami and watched your guide (about 2 years old) and saw how delighted you are at 100 subs. 5k subs later you're still here and still doing well. I must say, your work here is absolutely amazing!
At the time, the Littorio-class battleships were beautiful and were fast enough, but the problem is that the 381mm guns had a large dispersion, this is because of the bullets that fired very far, so they struggled to hit the furthest targets . however these battleships had good anti torpedo protection, however I believe that in my opinion the Vittorio Veneto is a balanced battleship with a bit of inaccuracy in the guns xD, I can't wait to play the battleships of the Regia Marina🇮🇹⚓
A problem that plagued the cruisers was shell manufacturing inaccuracies, which could lead to dispersion issues - Italian gunnery was pretty good. Not sure if that was an issue for the BB shells as well. I like the RM line so far, it's different, but balanced, has its own niche, but doesn't powercreep others. Fuel smokes can turn a brawl into your favour.
I remember farming vittorio yesterday with my akizuki,of course the first rule of thumb when being spammed by ton of HE shell is to never extinguish fire unless you know you're safe
The tier X bb I think has 2 precise aim I. This is the reason why I am so hyped for this ship. I’m sooo excited for Vittorio Veneto and I can’t wait to see how I play this against a Roma. But also to absolutely blap a dd in the face with the SAP
The tier 10 gets a precise aim 1 from what I have heard. Apparently it gets two charges of precise aim 1. So that definitely changes the commander a bit.
Indeed, that would change things. I've had a quick go at the quad turrets, and so far, the dispersion looks abysmal. Could be that we'll see a switch in T9, and T10 compensates. Needs more testing.
Man I was so into this line....I am a German-ship lover both in game and irl but even with my German-Bias tendencies and opinions I can't help to fall in love with the Littorio class I think they are absolutely beautiful and aesthetic so much so that I'm gonna order a 1/350 scale model of Vittorio Veneto as my first scale warship even before than the Beast or the lonely queen of the north.....Is going to be a hell of a project but is going to be totally worth it.
I’m very excited about the Italian BB line, only managed tier 5-6 from the event but the Tier 6 is very fun. It’s a tier 6 ceaser. I have Roma and Ceaser and loved playing both of those ships, almost as much as I love playing Scharnhorst/Odin.
@@FunandGameswithTerry Scharn, Odin, Sims are my go to to break loosing streaks. Used to love gneis until I got Scharn. Poor gneis doesn’t get much love anymore.
Got Veneto a couple of days ago and I love it, I coincidentally put the exact same set-up you put on her, currently farming for Lepanto but I have a question, have you played Lepanto? How does she play?
I've only had a test game or two. First impressions, the quad turrets are doing a number on the dispersion (as they normally do). Depending on what the tier 10 is looking like, we might see a switch in style. But I need more testing. Might try for a review next week.
Awesome review. I was one of the lucky 200 that got the legendary Italian captain in the black market event. So do u think his purely a cruiser captain? Or would he be viable for the BB line? And would u go the SAP OR AP Skill if u knew you would only be play the bb line?
Iachino or Sansonetti? Both have the improved SAP pen, which I would definitely go for on the CAs. For BBs, different question. The difference in damage between SAP and AP isn't great, and the AP is already very punchy. We might see low-calibre, i.e. 381mm, in top tiers, where you'd need all the pen you can get. I'd lean towards APCS, but would have to test it.
@@FunandGameswithTerry I have Sansonetti. Since I’m a BB main I was going to put him on the tier 10 when I grind it. From what we’ve saw the AP an SAP have been fairly close in damage . Didn’t know if it was going to end up like the HE captain on the USN line where it doesn’t make sense at the values they put on it to not still pick AP.
why not the concealment module ? you already have the best tech tree turn time. A great combo with smoke to engage/disangage, you basically have a cruiser surface detection, with little more punchy guns haha
Looking fwd to climbing this line... although the reward tree jump start didnt work out, busy dats, no time to play, ended up 4 wins short of Amdrea Doria... Grr... thought i had til midnight, not noon!!! So then, i go ahead and buy the resource "branches", only to find the crates are gone and those keys are worthless. Ive been angry with the game today!!! But.maybe tomorrow ill be back to enjoying Cavour, and building xp for the grind. Any idea when the tech tree will appear??? 😡😠😡
Event keys might be useful in future events, unless they got cashed out. Not sure. I don't have a release date for the line, maybe a month or two, judging by how the French DDs were handled?
somehow i found out her guns perform better at mid to longer ranges. I struggle to citadel battleships in close range while i get much more full pens and citadels in longer ranges...
I’m a huge German BB fan, t6-9. Bismark is my most played ship, I’ve found it to be shocking good at range. I bought the histo camo for it because I found myself playing at range most of the time. Just the first half until I find an opening to exploit but if I never find the opening I end up at range the entire game. I stil try to get into manual secondary range but that’s still almost 8km.
That's a good way to play, actually. Don't yolo early, but what you can consider, if you don't find an opening, make one. You won't survive, but if you can take one or two enemies with you, and leave your team in a much better tactical position, it can be worth it.
@@Brendan200 Bismark is the king of brawlers, Odin a very very close second. Bismark is actually one of the more accurate tech tree tier 8 ships so no more shotgun blasts from Tirpitz once you unlock Biz. Scharn is really good as well, although seeing as you have all of them I wouldn’t get Scharn unless it was for free xp or you have a ridiculous stock pile of gold and Scharn is on sale. Scharn is great, don’t get me wrong but with Odin and Tirpitz… there not much difference.
@@Brendan200 don’t do that. I mean if you really want to skip ahead, shoot. But it would be better so just grind, youll complete battle honors that way, and realistically it doesn’t take all that long
terry i think the commander skill mist weaver didnt work on fuel smoke... in 22:18 the fuel smoke is still 15 seconds I guess that skill only works on those basic smoke generators
If you have Roma, choose of keeping or selling Vittorio Veneto If you don’t have Roma, make yourself at home Vittorio Veneto it’s a free Roma alter all, sadly no RRB for it
My first thought was that its a nice tactical thing in skirmish to have smoke so you can easily get away and preserve your points if you get focused… now without precise aim and im not sure if dispersion improves with the scout plane.. not really, but we will see how things develop .. wont change the meta i guess but seem to be fun to play Turn off your powersafe mode ☺️ With legendary sap+ skill cruisers should stay away i guess 😂 Mine is just sailing on black amalfi so smoke and everything ready 😂
Yep, I need to remember that when recording 😜 The dispersion on this one is pretty good. I haven't played Roma enough to judge, but obviously she doesn't have the precise aim. The fuel smoke is really useful to cover turns, or to get the edge in a brawl. It's sort of a hidden rapid reload - you'll get a free salvo or two in before they'll target you again. Of course, once people get used to that, and blindfire, that may diminish. Scout plane improves detection, but mostly I like the elevated angle for aiming.

For this italian2 things, the somewhat fun constricting factor is the fact that only 2 commanders have skill to boost sap shell penetration, and they are either locked in a gamble box, or offered in a severely limited sale scheme such as in that bull black market event. 5 seconds before time for sale started everyone with their grandmas and their dogs were furiously tapping the buy button as if they were firing full gun build friesland trying to register into the purchase process, to be one of the 'lucky' 25-30 persons who could get the alloted commanders. What a bull event. 👎 The skill should be made available to a l l italian commanders so free to play players can also have access to the skill.
Italian BB line is a nightmare vs anything not a battleship, just shoot everything else with sap and laugh maniacally as you murder DD and light cruisers
