She really needs no introduction - the swimming no-fly-zone, US Navy flamethrower, bane of everything on the water and above - the one and only USS Worcester.
Actually the adrenaline rush really Made a difference when you have low hp and try to dodge more shells as possible it can really set bbs on fire effectively If you combined it with IFHE ;)
Wow. I had no idea you guys go so in-depth on these ships. Like for me it’s just basically a mobile game I like to play when I have nothing else to do. I’m at Cleveland right no in the cruiser line. But I also got lucky with crates and got Smolensk, Eugen, Maya etc.
My first ever t10 ship I had finished grinding normally in wows blitz. Due to the general population preference in the server I play, every day there is a certain time in the afternoon or in the evening between 5 pm to 7 pm that it is practically impossible to enjoy the game at all without the existence of sky pests. So I had to choose a line to grind that is acceptable to have a bit fun during that unfun period of time and thats why in the end I chose this line and finished grinding to 10 first.
Terry the large calibre AA also includes the 3inch rapid firing AA guns which you see on DM. And Terry you forgot the AA ammo supplies for for AA dakka
I'm actually not sure what qualifies as "large calibre" for this. I'd assume rifle calibres, 20mm and 40mm would be "small", and 76mm / 3in, 100+mm etc. would be "large". DM also has the 127s / 5in which should be dual purpose. But at the end of the day, the numbers are just made up :)
I’d love to see an AA build in a few games, with the AA consumable as well, the 3% large/small aa damage. I forget what it’s called but the refined diesel, high grade coal etc etc AA consumable and the historical camo.
I’m currently going for the Des Moines, since well… she’s a heavy cruiser with light cruiser reload! She’s definitely the most powerful tier 10 cruiser in terms of fire power and the rate of fire of her guns!
Des Moines is a great ship. Her AP can citadel battleships (that are not German) at close range, and her AA is amazing as well. Slightly less utility against DDs than Worcester. Just don't give broadside ;)

Got a question with the Worcester. The issue is - like any cruiser it's first job early in the game is to take out DDs. So you rush up, open fire and get detected. Because the guns have high arcs, it takes quite a few shots to kill them DDs. So you get zeroed by the enemy BBs in the process and deleted lol. U got no smoke to hide yourself and difficult to dodge 2 BBs shooting at you. Unless you don't do your anti DD duty for your team? But those shima torps..
Hello Terry. New nice review, for one of my favorite ship in the game. On my Worcester, I have take the same elite bonus, slot 1 and 2. But in slot 3, I have take the AA range. In EU server, per moment, it's impossible to play without CV (and I don't play in platoon with CV players). I think it's a very good mix for the power of the gun and the efficiency of AA where the range is very important (to kill a lot of plane before the attack and not after). And I have the historical camo, must to have for gun and AA range. This ship and the Halland (unlock last week, so great) are the best in CV game and in front of 5 DD (radar power). Of course the velocity shell is the most big problem... But one problem for a lot of good thing. 😉 It's funny because we always find cv player who try to focus Worcester full live in the beginning of the game or the friendly ship behind. After two attack by all the squadrons, it's great we are sure at 99% to have a clear sky medal and we don't have a lot or any damage 😂
The Seattle is good, not aa power like the Worcester but very playable in T9-T10 game. I have to play with in the future, because honor mission not completed and after sell because need credit. With the beautiful matchmaking of this summer, I have a big collection of defeat, go to 70% at 55% victory in 2 weeks on the Seattle... So free experience to go on the T10.
I'd include the Seattle as well. One of the best T9 ships IMO. Same number of guns and utility as Worcester, and while the AA doesn't quite match up, it's still good enough to do some serious damage.
Working towards “Wooster”… Just unlocked Seattle… although this is a Wooster video, you had a lot of nice things to say about Seattle - my thoughts… pound for pound in it’s tier Seattle feels like it could be a slight downgrade from Cleveland. Survivability is nearly the same. Main guns are better due to fast reload, but without secondaries, total DPM is less. When hunting DD’s I actually use those secondaries on the Cleveland a lot. The long range AA on Seattle is less then Cleveland but the range is about .6km longer - not sure if that is enough distance to make up the difference… especially when you are going to face T10 midway planes. I do think that it feels more accurate then Cleveland. I’d say Seattle vs Cleveland - I think Seattle wins but I don’t think its as powerful at T9 as Cleveland is at T8. What do you guys think?
I felt preety much the same in the Seattle. Especialy when I got into T10 games. Worcester on the other hand felt like Seattle on steaks and weights xD
For me, Seattle is a natural progression in the meta from T8 to T10. There are a lot of things you can get away with in Cleveland that you can't do anymore in T10 games. Top tier tends to be very defensive and tactical, whereas T8 can often be more of a brawl. Also, Seattle's guns do more damage, and up the fire chance to 5%. Her AA is still decent, and the range pushes you a bit more into utility play. I really like the Seattle, personally, but it's a switch. Totally agreed with the DD hunting / secondary aspect. Longer range radar, though.
Try to play the highest tier you're comfortable with, such that you'll end up ranking well in the team. T10 can give you lots of trophies, but also cost you lots. At the end of the day, league is more an indicator of how much someone has played, rather than how well.
At 21:35 I am pretty sure that Izumo was trying to shooting at you, He was probally doing Some blind shot at you Terry, considering that there arent any big Ship that is appeared on your area.
yeah, might have been a blind shot, but off by a mile :) They wasted so much ammo on me on that flank, that's exactly what I was trying to achieve - just prevent them from pushing there, and survive. Any fire from battleships that I can sustain isn't going to hit my team.
2 question Terry: 1. Did you at some point Friar Lantern map were too dark for long range aiming? Either because of my phone (i use Samsung A71 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1) or its a real dark map for long range gun fighting, not to mention when you fighting a black ship or ship with a dark cammo 2. For AA defense skill, which 1 is deadlier, Woster line or Vermont line? Thats all for now mate. Thanks n stay healthy
Friar's Lantern is really dark, especially when I'm playing outside, the "night" maps can be quite difficult, even at full brightness. Indoors it works ok, mostly. Asus ROG 3 is what I'm using. Worcester still has the best AA. Let's take a quick look at the stats: Vermont: 310 / 553 damage, with 3.6/1.8km range. Air defence alert doubles those, for 620 / 1106 damage. Worcester: 247 / 436 damage, with 4.2/3km range. With active air defence alert, increases to 494 / 1308. So while the Vermont technically has the more powerful large-calibre AA, she doesn't have the range, but the huge difference is in the small calibre AA range. 1.8km is pretty much "right above the ship", so even a Vermont with active skill will only have a 620 AA at 3km, whereas Worcester a) fires earlier, and will have a total damage output of 1802 at 3km, pretty much triple that of a Vermont. Summary: Worcester is a support cruiser that can provide very effective AA cover to nearby ships, pretty much exclusively due to her long range small calibre AA, and the level 3 skill. Vermont is a very potent AA weapon, but more towards self-defence. For funsies, compare the Halland, a.k.a. "Pocket Worcester" or "Bofors demonstration platform": 232 / 305 at 3.9 / 2.7km range. With skill up, that increases to 464 / 915. She also has the capability to cover other ships effectively. The range is very crucial in that regard, especially around the small calibre AA, where the level 3 skill effectively triples the damage output - for large calibre, it's the same for both.
@@FunandGameswithTerry i see, i thought it was my phone which got some problem, till my friend suggest me to raise the brightness which i reluctant to do. On my game with Kansas, mostly i score the Clear Sky than at North Carolina. I also thinking of sending my team CV to bomb that ship due to her murderous AA, unless the BB were smacked from all over the place. Nice reply btw mate
No, this is the "allround" build, not the AA spec. Sorry for the confusion - I usually record the matches first, to get a feel for the ship, before recording the review part.
Damn, I just realized that although I'm American and you are German-Australian, you've been pronouncing "Worcester" correctly and I've been mispronouncing it all along!
The Seattle was terrible for me. The dispersion at close range is so bad that all a DD has to do point nose in or away and you'll only land one or 2 shells at a time. The DD pretty much have to be full broadsiding to land any decent amount of shells. If you look at the gaps of the guns, they are farther apart than larger caliber guns on the Des Moines.
I tend to need two or three games until I'm adjusted to the shell velocity, but every DD probably turns tail and runs when spotting a light cruiser with radar and sonar ;)
19 planesssssssssss thats almost a quarter of the hakuryus plane gone to a single ship for context thats 1 plane short of 2 full dive bombers, torp bombers and fighters squardon

Am I the only one dreaming about USN giving for example (Premium) Roanoke a smoke generator in place of dfaa xD? Sounds suspiciously like Belfast to me... So doable.
Terry... Off topic but need help!!! Its my first time having to choose APCS or IFHE... Its for my Giulio Cesare and I'm just not sure!!! I do lots a DD chasing with it but of course lots of other ship shooting too... Can't decide...!!! USNVet, JRDJ, NA Server
APCS on the Giulio would be my choice. She's got 305mm mains, the HE penetration should be more than sufficient for full pens against mid-tier DDs, and her AP is already excellent. The bigger problem you'll have is things like Omahas, which are so thinly armoured that you're mostly going to overpenetrate their broadside. But I'd definitely stick with APCS on that ship.
