World of Warships - Built For Brawling 

HOLY MOLY!!! hahaha. Well, butter me up and call me a biscuit as I have made it to the promised land 🤣I am absolutely on cloud 9 right now as you have checked an item off of my bucket list 🙌 I started playing WoWs in 2019 because of you and my love for Naval War History as several of my family members served in the Navy in WWII and also in the Korean War. Thanks so much for the feature Jingles and glad you enjoyed the battle and hopefully others here as well 😄 That was my First Battle in Scharnhorst '43 as well, hahaha. Scharnhorst 43, the gift that keeps on giving, but still. It's secondaries doesn't disappoint, one thing that this thing that doesn't have the original is the Engine Boost!

'Allo Allo!! - one of my most favourite shows ever, even got to see it live in Sydney many years ago.

7:30 - New Mexico with it's engines knocked out apparently does not only become a fort but also switches nations and is a Duke of York instead a sentence later :D

Extra funny thing about Scharnhorst '43 is that it was a very easy premium ship to obtain, you simply had to play a few days in a row during the Christmas event and you had it. I've had matches during that time where 5 out of 6 battleships (both sides) were Scharnhorst '43's (yes im also partially guilty for the large amount of them, it's a fun ship)

From what I can tell, the '43 actually does the same damage per shot from its secondaries, at least according to the wiki. So the secondaries are just flat-out better.

Having the 43 I will say it's frustratingly fun. Trying to get in range without getting focus fired is a bit hard but when you do it is quite fun.

FYI Jingles, Germany intended to build a pair of improved pocket battleships called Panzerkreuzer D, when the navy learned about the French Dunkirk class. Who were very obviously pocket BB killers. So no Ds but actual battleships to be able to take on the French. Hull was easy, a few modifications to a late WW1 battlecruiser. Guns were a problem. The next generation 15" guns were years away from being ready. The best that could be made right away were the improved 11" guns for the cancelled D class.

I think the most underrated part about this is the fact he got almost every type of kill possible. Cruiser bitchslap, snipe, close range guns, secondary, torpedo driveby. All he was missing were long range torps and a fire.

I have always said the scharny is one of the best looking WWII ships ever made.

The Scharnhorst just rewrote what happened at the Battle of the North Cape

Someone other than myself has referenced 'Allo! 'Allo!, and it's my favorite quote! This will almost certainly be the high point of 2024 for me.

I never had the original Scharnhorst, so I don't miss the 20 second reload. The 23-second one on Scharn '43 is perfectly workable if you ripple fire. And the secondaries and speed boost are excellent.

From what I understand, and have read, the Scharnhorst was supposed to be fitted with 15 inch guns, like the Tripitzs. But it never happened. I have both, and they are both good ships. Nice to see a video with some one playing the Horst.

Actually Jingles, as @longrider42 mentioned, Scharnhorst was never designed as a commerce raider, nor were her guns supposed to deal only with convoy escorts. She was designed as a battleship, armed with 15" guns. As naval rearmament was a mess, and the 15" guns were late, the Kriegsmarine elected to go with 12" - a caliber it was well familiar with - with the option to refit later on.

9:50 I can relate to this. Wanting to launch the torpedoes but instead "fat-fingering" the keyboard. Pressing 4 instead while you want to press 3. Thankfully Flimsy corrects their mistake in time to punish the Yukon!

Hell of a fun game to watch. I liked my Gneisenau but the Scharnhorst '43 is everything fun about it, plus some quality of life.

The range on the guns always struck me as odd. In real life, it had the interesting distinction tying the Warspite in landing the longest hit on an enemy ship in WWII at 24Km. Yes, the guns in real life were stupidly accurate, if lower caliber. What did the ship in was interestingly enough, the fact that they didn't design the upper decks well enough and at full speed it would do significant damage to itself from water slamming into the front end. It was in the docks twice for major repairs due to excessive water damage. In the game, though, it occupies an odd space where it won't overpen most smaller ships but still does decent chunk damage versus most other things.

Love my Sharny43! Get a bit cocky with it sometimes and over extend but more often than not it's awesome. Thanks WG for the present!

It's nice to know that the old WoT "Stat-Padders" have moved over to WoWS.

The only thing that is worse on this Scharny, is that she is forced to have the useless fighter consumable, over the moderately useful spotter aircraft. Well played Flimsy, good to see someone from A-D-F get featured again

I have a grand total of 11 German ships in World of Warships. 5 of them are either Graff Spee or Shiny Horse.

Scharn 43 is super fun, especially in asymmetric. Next to the Bismarck sisters, I've played her the most in the last 2 weeks of any of my ships.

Triple div scharnhorst '43 Let the shenanigans begin. It was rolling krakens between the 3 of us.

I accidentally killed 4 ships in a ranked battle the other night with this ship - including the classic "BB with torpedoes, one ship either side with torps" one, them having both already fired their guns, sent torps so I had nothing to lose - it is indeed a fun ship to play when your team permit you to get close (i.e. they don't all run away and fire ping pong balls over their shoulders from the next map!)

I have been having a lot of fun (and success) playing the P. Rupprecht. It has full secondary build and for it's captain I selected Gunther Lutjens making it a formidable BB. Add in the torps and.......well, like I said, I'm having fun!

The problem wish Scharnhorst is that it's shells go all over the map artistically avoiding to hit the target.

Sometimes I feel like I'm horrendous at this game, then I see players like the New Mexico, and I remember that I'm just kinda bad.

I was playing this yesterday and i rounded an island to see a sub on the surface waiting to torp me…. so i torped him back! 😂

The New Mexico probably thought that this guy was going to continue running full speed ahead and come into view around the corner of the island giving him a nice broadside. So he's just sitting there all this time not doing anything Just waiting for something that's never happening.

New Mexico might have been a bot - lots of them in the game since about november (and by that i mean, that there was yet another spike-botting was alrdy an issue before that). Seems like WG had to boost the "Player" numbers for the new year. Beside that and the comicly bad dispersion he got on the Königsber TWICE, this was a solid match, showcasing how map awareness can make all the difference. you know...instead of the "hurr hurr! Guns go BOOM BOOM!" approach a frustratingly big part of the wows playerbase seems to favour.

The other reason the the class was built with those 11” Guns was because they where the largest German Industry was capable of making at the time (German maritime industry was basically gutted as a result of the Treaties that ended World War One (something the British ensured was in there)j

I love the Scharnhorst because it’s a true battlecruiser unlike some of the other ships WG has dropped into the game. I love having my cruiser with a bit more tankiness.

I can't believe how good this ship is compared to how easy it was to get. First game in it I got 6 kills and second game I got 4. I'm pretty sure it now has more krakens than any other ship I own and I'm not even playing it that much. The thing is a beast.

I have the B and ‘43 versions and I enjoy the ‘43 way better. They performed very similar and the secondaries are definitely better on the ‘43 than the B. Both are good but the ‘43 is more fun to play.

Those overpens against the broadside Konigsberg weren't really a surprise. The Konigsberg's armor is *so bad* that against a battleship, you're probably better off *not* angling.

An impressive game. Though what I'm more surprised by is someone actually has a Yukon battleship. Thought that catastrophe of a release left no one buying it.

Actually Jingles, the Yukon isn't a Battleship, it's a Battle Cruiser. At least, she sure does a lot better if you play her like one.

You need a great Arctic Camo for your Scharnhorst found for " Festive "Free" Trees (Christmas Tokens) found in the Armory? It comes complete with Icicles (you do have to zoom in?).

Id say the NM show great sportsmanship but he did kind of give up near the end of the round. At least he didnt try to run to the edge of the map or _'fight his way out™'_ . Just accepted he wasnt going to win and didnt waste his or anyone elses time.

In games I've played I'll take DPM over chunk damage every time.
