I like the Swedish DDs. The trade off for the torps doing fart damage is that you are actually able to land them at all ranges without relying on the goddess of luck guiding ships into their path.

That's why IJN DDs are (at least for the typical player) some of the worst torpboats despite having the hardest-hitting torps. Damage only matters if you actually hit anything, and the IJN torps are the easiest to dodge of any in the game.

As someone who hs been a DD main since beta, I'm not that much of a fan, just spam torps almost blindly all game long and hit something whenever you happen to hit something, as the ikeabotes promote, has very little to do with predictive skills you need with most other DD. On top of that especially Halland is the poster child example that WG CAN actually do something about the woeful state of AA, but just choose not to, even if that has nothing to do with her torps, or even being a DD.

In fact, the French DD torps from t8 and above are the most easy to hit in the game :) I just finished the line yesterday and I was mad that I didn't considered to play them earlier. It took me two days or around 12h play time to do it and I can say that this is the most fun I ever had in a DD! Before that the ''Pan EU'' DDs were there. Halland is great and all but not quite there. It needs a better heal or around 15% better DPM to be that nice.

Why wouldn't it be ? Hell they used it too create their own system of government. In their own lil world. Where what they say goes no matter what the truth is! But then again that system seems too work for any form of Government. Doesn't matter if its Communisms, Democracy, Imperialisms. It pretty much works for any and all of it. It has a proven track record plain and simple. It is also probably why the old saying, Money talks and Bullshit walks was invented. If enough money is talking then any bullshit will walk.

The main point about hallands aa is that this halland is full aa built, as all the ships in clan battles are. If you spec nothing in aa they are still not bad, but if you put everything into it (6th slot, and the captain skills) then with def aa even fdr stands barely any chance against that flak.

I have begun to notice more that investing in AA doesn't make one invincible to carriers, but it certainly helps dramatically. Often, the people who complain most about carriers are those who make no effort to counter them.

@@christiankroemer4267, problem is that no matter how hard hitting AA can possibly get, most of the time it is usually never enough time cuz atleast most air attack animation makes the planes immune to being damaged. Just watch the aa damaged stop ticking once the planes goes into attack animation

High-tier Russian CVs will have access to a consumable that calls in a shot from the Death Star's superlaser. We did plenty of internal testing and determined that instantaneously destroying an entire planet is fair and balanced.

I like the Swedish DD's, doing ticklish damage doesn't matter when you can get a new set in the water significantly faster. Allows you to pump out more area denial and cause more floods. Where the other DD's torps are like sledgehammers to a ship's kneecap, Swedish torps are like 200 small but deep cuts.

The halland has solid AA, in a game where no ship really has any AA to speak of (minotaur/austin asside). But in true power-creep style, WG added the FDR, so even if the halland takes 700,000 damage off of the squadron of planes, no biggie as FDR still has a few hundred planes left in each squadron.

The Halland and the Friesland are hands down the biggest plane eaters in the game. They're truly impressive in how fast they annihilate whole squads. But sadly they're really the only 2 ships that can fully defend themselves. Everything else needs backup.

the halland is actually meta in CB because of carriers. It provides the ability to cap while being able to screen allies against planes. It would never get picked if carriers wasnt a thing

@@johnnyenglish583 it makes no sense anymore. I've had a run of 9 games with 9 crushing defeats one after the other this week. The matching is a complete joke. I've been building up my Lightning as my Jutland isn't ready for battle yet, and the only way to survive is to always be in a position that you can't fire back from. Constant radar and fun police means smoke is now irrelevant, and as for team mates, they're probably having their own issues, or I really am being put in tears with truly dreadful players that don't realise the importance of providing cover for the spotters in the early part of the game. Sorry for the rant. The Beatty's (most of the BB players I'm matched with) of the world really piss me off.

I don't get two comments by Jingles about Halland. It doesn't have poor detection it has exellent detection, and it is famous for having devastating AA prowess so Jingles should not be surprised by it. It's because it has great detection and AA protection that it doesn't need smoke. Also, Halland has wonderful AP guns which I routinely use to citadel cruisers. It isn't some kind of second-class ship which seems to be implied.

Flamu shortly after the rework and subsequent AA nerf predicted the release of ships who's AA while on paper no better than other ships in class would actually be effective, a lot of the ships released since that rework started in 0.8 have effective AA with DFAA active including the new balans. Halland is a 0.9.3 ship and lo and behold it's AA is actually effective, the new balans despite no long range aa is also wildly effective, NEAT. Old ships like the DM remain straight garbage for whatever reason, I long since abandoned the use of DFAA and AA upgrades on mine despite it's on paper numbers being slightly better than the halland and much better than the new balans(other than the short range ofc which is wildly high dps). It's a way to double dip incentivize the player base, both to buy/grind carriers and the new ships that have an effective defense agains them.

Radar should have diminishing effects. If you are radar/hydrod, when that runs out you should have complete immunity for 2 minutes, after that the next radar/hydro should only effect you half of the time, then 2 minutes of immunity, then the next radar/hydro half of the time again, repeat. I've been in wars where I had to sit behind an island the entire game because of: radar, hydro, radar, hydro, radar, radar, radar, radar, hydro, why-am-i-even-playing-this-game. Thats when some genius on your team asks you what you are doing and leaves you a -1 karma. Excellent game.

Jingles...Battlecruisers have Battleship level fires. So 60 seconds unmodified. The reason its usually never 60 seconds is because you run the damage control module and/or the basics of survivability commander perk.

Well the fire lasts on the big cruisers 60 seconds. The only exception is Graf Spee that has 45 sec fire duration. It should be 45 sec cause the commander rework made it impossible to take the BB skills.

Really jingles. As a britisher you should be able to pronounce that name. You almost use the same sound for your high tea: Tea and Skaones (Scones), So make it a scone, but make the "o" sound closer to "come"
