@@Sterncold The closest British equivalent classification would be a destroyer leader, but the only British ships actually (somewhat) comparable to these oversized "contre-torpilleurs" in terms of size and firepower were the Tribal class. When launched these French ships didn't had an equivalent in other navies, it was only later in the war that comparable ships were built (like the Italian "generali romani" light cruisers / large destroyers which were specifically designed to counter them or the late US Allen M. Sumner class).

Lolipron-Sama well actually the term “destroyer” originated from Torpedo Boat Destroyers, which are designed to deter torpedo boats. The two concepts sort of merged together to become what we know today as destroyers.

Those in the industry were okay with it, most white men were okay with it, and the world at large was okay with it. But incels are a touchy, ill-tempered breed. Right on, this deserves far more upvotes. I have no problem with female protagonists. Jill Valentine, FemShep, Samus, Aloy, Amanda Ripley, Catwoman, Gaige - they were all fun to play. What causes problems is when a character's only defining trait is that they're... a girl. That's not really very interesting on its own, and if that's what the writers have invested into the character, then the game feels tiresome. It can also easily be preachy and insulting, when the writers try to have the character succeed because girls rule and boys are icky.

It amuses me when people for some reason start imagining that art or entertainment shouldn’t be politically charged, or somehow recently BECAME that way. At the very least, it lets me know that they don’t know anything about art/media history.

@@DoomShepherd Youve got it the wrong way around. Since recently Games (also tv and other media) are trying incredibly hard to be as politically correct as possible to avoid backlash from SJW's. So instead they get backlash from hardcore gamers for conforming to said SJW's. If anything, we need more politics and society issues in games, because they can make for very intriguing stories, and make you think.

Yep, that's the only Reason I have a Problem with it. Just make the available Female characters strong rather then genderswapping or otherwise diversifying long established and well liked characters. Or make original Content with new characters. But don't make the Main Character from my favorite Book Black or Asian (or female) even though the Book actually has those Ethnicities and they live in a completely different part of the World. Keeping them clearly lined out also makes sense because you can more clearly tell where characters come from. But I'm getting off-track. Ghostbusters was a bad Movie and when I read that some Critics liked it I was really surprised. On the other Hand most Critics hated Rambo 5. And while the Movie definitely had it's Problems it wasn't the ones the Critics mentioned. Sexism? Not really. Yes, it's a masculine Power Fantasy and the "Daughter" is an Idiot, but that's not a gender trait but more of a Teenager trait. Stereotypes? Kind of. The Latina Housekeeper and the Mexican Gang could have been Americans. But there is Gang related Crime in Mexico and since the "Daughter" is Mexican it makes sense for her to be there. Also, the Bad Guy in the first movie was white, in the second it was Asians and Russians, in the third it was Russians and the Middle Eastern People were the Good Guys. Are we only allowed to have white Bad Guys now as long as the Director of a Movie is white? Just balance it out, don't cater to stereotypes and have it make sense in the story ffs. I'm done.😅
