Silly as it may sound, but Wows replays remain my favorite on this channel by far. They are just like an espresso; so much joy compressed into such little amount and the best way to start the day.
@@thepiratemongoose8965 thanks, I was about to say the same. Thankfully some poor souls throw money at WG to be able to play the game "properly", for I couldn't be bothered.
The worst part is that watching these repalys, I remember how much fun I used to have with this game, and the urge to go back surfaces. I know I shouldn't, but it's like being a former drug addict.
I remain convinced that the mid tiers in all WG games are the best place to have fun. Also much more viable for free to play players and most ships/tanks are either real or atleast realistic!
the progression is also relatively fast and you can play without premium! The issue in WoWs is of course all guns at these tiers have terrible accuracy so angling and all that doesnt matter much. Atleast we have missions for T6! I wish we could get something for T5 as well.
If I play that like a cruiser I die in minutes, if I play it as a big-ass-destroyer-that-hunts-destroyers I do well... and yes, it's made out of paper, unfortunately
Not a bad ship at all... Hood, on the other hand... I made it work, eventually, but I think I only got a couple of main battery hits total in the first 15 battles in it (or so). It was way worse than the Gneisenau, despite the two extra guns. Then it got better at hitting things. Or maybe WG just has silent-buffed it.
I remember a battle in my Emerald where I managed to dev-strike a full hp Kongo in a 8-torp unseen ripple from behind an island. He came onto general chat like 'Well....'
Jingles and his brilliant commentary. We didn't see the new Mexico eat japanese torpedoes and flood as the camera zooms in on the new Mexico eating the torps and exploding
Jingles: "Can't remember the last time I saw a game when someone scored 10 kills" Me: Well...there was a certain CV game featured on this channel less than a week ago...never change Jingles!
While I don't play it often, I do enjoy my Arizona despite my preference for fast battlecruisers. It's really fun, but not enough to convince me to go down the US BB line.
My Emerald sunk a fair bunch of arrogant and unuware Scharnhorsts and Gneisenaus... When they take more than two torps directly to the nose, they tend to go BOOM.
I've always played Gnessy as a mid-range support battlecruiser. She got me into gold tier ranking... you can throw shade but I have a special fondness for her playstyle!
Actually Jingles, as you know, destroyers were designed to fight Torpedoboats and then they became the very thing they swore to destroy! The only reason they are seen as anti sub vessels is because they were the cheapest and most efficient ship to equip depth charges on. But this beeing WW1, interwar and WW2, it kinda fits that they arent good at it. Subs are just all around stupid though, because they essentially hunt DDs.
That Emerald player is quite a chad. Tho being named "Darth Revan" was quite a statement, didn't matter he was on the worse ship in the battle, we knew he'd kick ass somehow.
That sub was deleted out of existence. I can just imagine the captain looking at his crew and saying “it has been an honor.” before getting smacked with 16 inch guns
Jingles, you keep bad mouthing the Emerald. I'll have you know it's an excellent destroyer! Whaddya mean it's a cruiser? 16 torpedo tubes, smoke and hydro and it out accelerates DDs. It's a fat destroyer, play it like one and it's a monster :)
Submarine issue was the same problem Navyfield had back in the day. Submarines were too broken and were designed to take on battleships in the game, so the ships designed to hunt submarines were grossly out classes HP and firepower wise. So ironically the most effective weapons against submarines were battleships that switched out secondary guns with hedge hogs.
Akchually, Jingles, airstrike depth charge attacks do have the benefit of range, but, have very few bombs they deploy per attack (2 is the maximum I recall). Some ships also only get one depth charge airstrike, whereas ships with point blank depth charge attacks typically get two. I'm not sure which has the shorter cooldown.
you're forgetting that they tend to do 2-3x the damage of ship based depth charges and can have roughly half the cooldown (20sec vs 40 sec), on top of being far easier to get direct hits with. In DDs its not uncommon for me to get 15+ depth charge hits, but still not kill them, while usually I kill a sub by the 4th strike in a BB if not earlier (even gotten dev strikes with 3 hits)
that was A Game of Throws combined with Clutching victory from the jaws of defeat. i've found the key to German BBs is simply patience. Know what the ship can do & can't do & play within those perimeters & you'll be successful. Heinrich, Bismarck, Preussen, GK all play a similar game.
Hi Jingles Do you have video from the beginning of WOT ? I can't seem to sort your videos, starting with the oldest ones ... 😕 I miss the first maps and tanks ... there was an American Tier 2 tank that almost everybody used ... can't remember the name and the typical map it was used on. Everybody was on opposed hill
With Jingles, a Royal Navy vet, bein unable to identify ships with the name of the ship posted on screen for him it is no udder surprise that the Ark Royal’s air craft torpedoed the Sheffield in the hunt for the Bismarck. Keep it up admiral the contents great!!
Jingles I hope you see this I recently ish posted on another video about my daughter naming her doll jingles because she loves listening to your videos - I would like to let you know I'm now led on my bed with my 24hr old son who is listening to his first jingles video! Many thanks for your content as your voice seems to keep my children calm and relaxed.
13:55: Colorado and New Mexico share a border several hundred miles long. They are two of the states that form the only place in the US where four states join at one point ( it has the inspired name "The Four Corners"). The other two states are Arizona and Utah. I and most of my family live in Utah, I have an older brother living in Phoenix, Arizona, my father was born in New Mexico, I know this part of the world well. The amount of mind boggling scenery in the area is beyond belief, there are archeological sites ranging from Ancestral Pueblo (1000+ years pre-Columbus) to the Jurassic eras. If you love unforgettable scenery, this part of the world is worth checking out, but some advice you should keep in mind is, this area is deceptively vast and DRY. Another thing to note is, if you, like Anakin Skywalker, don't like sand, this isn't the place for you. It does get everywhere. Enough with the geography lesson. Treats and scritches to the furry Mistresses of Caer Jingles please. 🐈🐈⬛👑✌️🖖 After posting the above , I listened to this again and realized Jingles was talking about North Carolina and Colorado which are in fact separated by thousands of miles. D'oh.
I do you one better: strangely I had very good games in the Gneisenau at the second grind, one just had to go something like 10 km or less. In the final games before the end of the grind, I even managed to do 2 salvos = 2 kills spree at maximum range and not against sneeze at her and she's sunk ships. and a dev strike or two.
Hey Jingles i have a question for you: You one, a long long time ago, mentioned a Book in a Audible ad. It was a story about a society that plays a game to select its leader and a citizen of a downtrotten planet comes in to be a contender. I cannot find that ad but the book sounds ineresting. What was the title?
Serious question, see it all over. Doubt anyone else uses 'spartaions' as a name. Why add numbers? The online number naming started late 90's when we got bigger pools of people in one place. Last decade people use number added when it's useless, why? Not talking about replacing letters with numb3rs, i can get behind that. Someone comes up with a unique name like Spartaions and then fucks it up!
Hood same protection and firepower as a QE, (yes trading an inch of thickness for angling to produce a similar apparent thickness), she qualifies as a battleship, and before you say "but the RN called her a BC", they had the policy to call all capitol ships the exceeded 25 knots BCs, some rightfully so such as the Renown and Repulse, and some not so much, such as the "fully armored battlecruiser" Vanguard as well as the WWII KGVs. However Kongo is a battlecruiser, similar armor to the other T5 "splendid cat", the Tiger, better speed, a slight edge in main gun firepower with a half inch of caliber, so it was very fitting that Spartan here punished this Kongo,
Jingles: The New Mexico, bad armor, bad guns, bad speed, has nothing going for it. Me: I love my New Mexico and have had a number of good games with it. Does that mean I'm playing it wrong?
"I mean a 10th kill would be nice. I can't remember the last time I saw a game where somebody scored 10 kills." -- Jingles. Ponders the Graf Zeppelin Video released 1 week ago where it scored 10 kills.
Hood also has around 10k more health points and its guns are godly for taking out cruisers with their short fuse time, you also have to remember hood was in game way before they started doing a BC split so she doesn't benefit from some of the features the BC line got, but given her torps in real life were absolutely useless it might have been a good thing.
