World Pipe Band Championships 1996 

This video shows some footage taken at the 1996 World Pipe Band Championships.
All the clips were taken at the end of the competition (which is why everything looks so messy). The following bands are shown preparing for the final march past:
Simon Fraser University (pipers tuning up)
Field Marshal Montgomery
Strathclyde Police
Boghall and Bathgate
The remainder of the video shows a number of bands marching back to their buses at the end of the competition.
This was my very first video - hence the occasional appearance of my finger! I had purchased a JVC DV camcorder the week before. DV cameras had just been introduced to the UK. The quality is quite good for 1996 (but pressing the HD button will not make much difference). This was nine years before RU-vid started.
I remember spending the afternoon too shy to point the camera at complete strangers. Late in the afternoon I realised that if I didn't make a move I would have nothing.
