Being a hongkonger I was really surprised as I take this MTR maybe twice a week. I don't think of it as anything special ngl but this made me reevaluate my thoughts. tysm.
I’ve been in Hong Kong since 2012 and it’s metro is pretty good, and the people here are REALLY nice, once I saw some kids parent couldn’t get in time,so the kids were on the mtr alone, the people aboard stay with them until the parents arrived.
Here is some additional info: sometimes on stops they will have a “MTR mall” which is well a mall and they can give you MTR points and every stop there is a MTR shop which again gets you points
Nova :D wtf?i live in hk and don’t heccing understand wdym I mean metros r supposed to be like this edit: oh god what happened to the reply section? Damn yall im sorry dont need to get so pissed, lol.
I lived there for 4 years and it felt normal to me then but now I’m living in New York I think I was lucky to live there because their metro is definitely a lot better than New York’s
Japan is also the best example of best metro. The train is never late but only one time which was 36 seconds.they returned all the money to their passengers for being late and the train driver/operator said sorry to each passenger on the train by himself for 15 minutes
• critic • , UK , USA and other places have coronavirus but they aren’t in China Just because Hong Kong isn’t in China doesn’t have coronavirus. Haven’t you heard of the Hong Kong protests How they revolt against the CCP Hong Kong is a completely different place just because it is China doesn’t mean it is exactly like it inside of China there are many different cultures
@@hidumbkid126 Did you read the comment? It said China, but (s)he said it as, Hong Kong wasn't in China. Yes, I have heard of them, I wasn't talking about the culture.
The 1,000,000 HKD fine (130,000 USD) actually goes back to the people in a thing called "fare rebate", in which if you take the metro during the "fare rebate" period you get 30% off your ticket until the whole fine is "returned" to the people.
Another words, it’s a referral of sorts, right? It’s similar to the small “referral” you pay when you purchase a large soft drink within a plastic bottle and recycle it using the shops recycling system to receive that referral back. Thus, resulting with simply just paying for the liquid soft drink within the bottle and then subsequently recycling the plastic bottle it came within.
I had been to Hong Kong last year!! The most enjoyed thing of all was the metro, it was like a mall which never made me feel bored. Enjoyed shopping and spending time in the HK!! Wishing to go again if possible.❤️
Yeah but there are often staff checking the metro stations so no people actually spend the night there, which is also one of the reasons why it's so clean
Actually I live in Hong Kong and take the Hong Kong Metro everyday. Sometimes it actually delays and stops in the middle of the trip, just not longer than 30 minutes
Shenzhen also has a really clean metro station to i have been their couple of times thry even have friendly officers inside train making sure everyone is safe
I’ve been to Hong Kong b4 and it’s sooo convenient especially for visitors that travel to many places daily , u could literally take the train/metro to anywhere you want coz there are stations everywhere !!!
True im from Philippines and their metro is way alot better than here. No lines and in just a few minutes we would arrive our destination.. I also love their trains to Disneyland cuz the windows is shaped like the Dineyland's logo lol.
0:50 It can cost up to HKD$50 It depends how far you go. You scan your octopus card before you go in, and when you get off you scan again to pay. Also when I went to London for vacation I was like: Omg why are these so expensive!
Hong Kong's metro system is clean because there's no eating inside. The network is extremely extensive and the frequency is so good. I'm from Hong Kong and I just enjoy how quick the trains are.
aaah takes me back to 2009 when I was there...the hong kong metro is indeed clean and impeccable...I felt alot better when I was there touring the city
100 Subscribers with no video CHALLENGE! well, as a hongkonger that goes to singapore very often, i can say that i've been delayed in train faults very often in singapore :D i know thompson works well but 1. it's a relatively new line 2. we're talking abt the overall system so...
@@Justin.salmon yes so I said all other 5 rail lines have increased their MKBF, which shows that both operators have greatly improved their maintenance programmes. Especially the older lines(NSEWL, NEL)
