What if they opened a Replica store of 2 pizza time theater locations like the first one ever with the portrait stage and another one with the balcony stage?
Thanks for the mention Kurt! I got lucky and was able to get a tour through a friend of a friend who's no longer there and when I originally posted the video. Chuck E. Cheese corporate threatened that person's job unless I took it down which I did immediately and then we negotiated a re-edit which is what's in the video today. I got to see way more stuff than I was able to show in the video and there's some really amazing history up there on that third floor. Love your videos bud!
@@bloodeagle6458 I wish I knew the answer to that. But they are the way they are. Its the same reason they are requiring all their managers to destroy the animatronics before putting them in the dumsters after each knew remodel and then send then proof. Even the old wall art from the stores. Its a very sad corporate policy. I've been trying to get a tour of the Corporate HQ in Dallas for over a year but they keep putting me off :(
Hey, that's ridiculous. I'll never understand companies like that. So rad that you got up there.. now that your friend doesn't work there anymore, you should put up the entire video. Anyways, thanks for making the video, and thank you for watching.
U guys need to work there if guys want to see the third floor if I was u don't go alone is creepy scary a little girl died there I used to work there I been up stairs 3 floor they have old stuff old machines I seen a little door and I seen the little girl like 2 times she wants her mommy tu return she scared to be alone by her self ask Andres his the manager he works at chuck e cheese he would take u to 3 floor
That was my hometown chuck e cheese. My dad still lives down the street. It was so amazing in the 80's/90's The whole place used to have that carpet! That main area was partially closed off so you can watch the show. Upstairs had the best arcade games and downstairs had a ball pit and all ticketed games 😊
Because I grew up in San Jose and spent lots of time at that Chuck E Cheese, all the others I've seen don't compare! I can't describe the atmosphere in that location in the 80s and 90s but I'll always cherish the memories
YeAH, seeing that Giant Chuck E Cheese was always the highlight of coming back from visiting my cousins who live in San Jose. Ever since I was a little kid; I can’t believe it’s still freaking there.
I grew up going to that Check E Cheese, spent many birthdays there. Used to be a big toy store. Edit: I don't know about now but that CEC used to get PACKED! If you ever want to do a video together about that place, I would love to help with that. I could try and ask the parents if they have old photos. If anything, I have many fond memories.
This was my childhood Chuck e cheese's I grew up close by it's awesome back in the early 80's and 90's it was the place to be back in the day if you lived in the 408 area code
I live down the street from this chuck e cheese..went to many parties there as a kid and held my own kids parties there..the place is really busy on the weekends. Would been cool to watch Kurt do his thing In person. .love your channel.
Thing I missed the most was the two story play ground. They had tubes to crawl through that went over the stage so you can look down over the people sitting and watching. It was a huge maze of a playground that was great for hide and seak.
Awesome video, I thought I'd provide a little extra information on this location. This was the third out of fourth Pizza Time Theatres in the San Jose area, the first location being in the Town & Country Shopping Center (Now Santana Row) which opened in May of 1977, and the second being in the Blossom Hill Shopping Center which opened in December 1978. In 1981, this location opened its doors, which would be the largest Chuck E. Cheese in the United States, but not the largest ever, which was in Jeddah Saudi Arabia, that closed a few years back. The fourth location in San Jose was technically in Cupertino, but was on the city border. 2:28 The artists name is Jeff Tritel, the statue has been there since opening in 1981. 3:14 In the rightmost window, the Beagles, a Cyberamic dog-show based off The Beatles, used to perform in there. In one of the left windows, there were RC cars, backed up by the floorplans of the location that were revealed about a year ago. 4:10 That large neon-red sign came from a closed location back in the 80s. Although the location is currently unknown. 4:22 The area near the red exit door used to be the Cabaret lounge, where Dolli Dimples would sit at a piano and perform songs. 4:32 The area with the circles of light and the massive TV was where The Stage was, also known as the “Balcony Stage”, which would be swapped for a C-Stage in the 1990s, and then a 2-Stage later on. This location also had a Studio C. 4:41 The reason why this area is so large is because it used to be the Lounge, where The King, a large lion would sing. 5:31 The third floor used to be Chuck E. Cheese’s University, which included offices, a test kitchen, among other things. In the 1990s, there was artwork which featured Chuck E. Cheese characters, along with Disney characters, however Disney sent a cease-and-desist. Some other things to note is that Cheesevention 4 was held here, a Chuck E. Cheese fandom meet up. There’s several videos online of this location which shows it in its prime, and I heavily suggest you check them out. I’d love to see a video on the Stockton Children's Museum, which has the giant statues that were in the windows when this was the Magic Village Toy Store.
WOW !!! GREAT VIDEO ,, YOU SOUND LIKE THAT ACTOR ON SAT NIGHT LIVE IN THE 80S,, THIS C E C IS GROWING .. WE SAW SOME THAT WERE SMALLER SHOPS.. THANKS..
Yes bro this is my home town and this was one of two Chuck E. Cheese's I would go to as a kid. This one is the one the 80's kids would call the "big" Chuck E cheese on the east side of San Jose and the other one was called the "small" Chuck E cheese on the south side of San Jose. In the 80s there was Chuck E cheese characters in all three windows with Chuck E cheese always in the middle. In the 80s the 3rd floor was open. Since there was two Chuck E cheeses you were really cool in the eyes of your friends if you got to have your birthday at the "big" Chuck E cheeses. The "small" Chuck E cheese was rad also because it had a huge 3ft deep ball pit and a thing called the Cheese Factory which was basically a fun house built into the wall inside of Chuck E cheese and it had carpeted tunnels with hot light bulbs that you had to climb through on your hands and knees that only kids could fit so if you didn't want to leave yet you could go hide in there and your parents couldn't get you out because they were too big to fit inside. The big Chuck E cheese was like a dream come true I remember as you approached on the freeway first thing you saw was 3 story High characters, it was like going to a kids fantasy dream land. Thank you for doing this video it brought back so many memories for me, I'm going to look through my photo albums now to find photos of my birthdays there. Please do another video on this one and look up the small Chuck E cheese also, it's not there anymore but you could probably find it on the internet. 🤘😁👍
Oh my gosh you were so close to me! I live like 15 minutes from there been here my whole life. We used to go to that Chuck E. Cheese as a kid and my kids went there too. Now they’re grown! Check out the history of it, used to be a toy store back in the day and it’s haunted!
I use to live in Freemont off the Nimitz Freeway from 91 to 93. I took my daughter there for her 3rd birthday. It use to say Chucky Cheese University in big letters back in the day. I thought the windows had characters in all 3. Me and my buddy wanted to make a shirt that said we graduated from Chucky Cheese University... It was definitely big and fun.
Ayeeee. You’re in my area. So fun fact, that Chuck E Cheese on the closing block and is slated to get turned into a….well…an Adult “dance” club. Timeline is unknown by the rumors. But it does sound like its on the list to close at some point. Its super cool though and you’re right, its always been said to be the world’s largest!
did they film terminator 2 there ? 4:56 it looks pretty much the same place when the t-1000 searches john connor while john connor play a flight simulator, at a similiar place
I used to live 23 minutes away from that chuck e cheese and now that people are making vids about it it makes me feel happy cuz I got to ride past it and see it like 1,000 times I went there when I was 4 don’t remember much but very easy to get lost trust me I did get lost💀 but yeah
Sorry to be such a buzzkill dude but Company Man's channel said Chuck E. Cheese JUST went bankrupt. They're trying to figure out how many locations are going to even stay open. People need to go out and support these places dude, and they're frickin babies after the coof. They think they'll die of the sniffles in every restaurant or mall so those places are all dying. Nathan "Dad" did a video from inside a completely empty Pizza Hut recently. You have to go to these places for them to stay open, people. You can't whine "aaww man, what happened to Pizza Hut?!" if you never go.
I wish that every Chuck E cheese had one animatronic but not a complex and expensive one. Also it would only be in the party rooms so it would normally be off
Definitely would go there for the museum. In fact from your other video that one that's being gutted in California should send its memorabilia to them including the animatronics. It needs to be seen and on display. Refurbished for generation after generation. I could care less about the food and games show me the third floor. Its just being wasted and set out to rot. Preserve the memory. The cool statue is kinda awesome. This looks like the megaplex in five nights at Freddy's security breech .there should be a putt putt a go cart ect. This place is gigantic enough to do that. They could charge admission just for that. The display windows of the nostalgia is perfect. This is what us 80s/90s kids want to see. We will take our kids, our , grandkids, and so forth there. Its something that they might not have the funding to do a show all the time with the animatronics but to show a video of the making of those and the gears motherboards ect in a glass box. Its just needs to come to fruition. Please try to get us a tour or floor 3. We need that in our lives Also if they do need to show the history of showbiz as well as some of the characters are no longer present but are available in someone's home or other restaurants now. Showbiz bought chuckeecheese so it goes to say without showbiz there wouldn't be chuckeecheese without showbiz
I live in San Jose and this place is a staple here. This place is said to be haunted because when it was a toy store someone had fell off from the 3rd story. Bay Area landmark
101 South my dude it was a staple of my childhood growing up on the east side of Salinas. But it was a Toy Store with giant toy soldiers in the window.............and it was opened for most of my childhood from at least the 1970s. You coming up North stop by if you can- Heath
Did you know that when the with the TV inside had a Chuck E. Cheese cyber ram like in that window and in it’s not a collectible store that is not for sale and it’s covered with plastic Wrapping
Wait...... Let me see if I understand this.... what is most likely the biggest CEC in the US... instead of making THIS location the last remaining location in the country that has animatronics and make it a big museum with the retro posters, signs etc... they've already taken out all the animatronics and updated the whole location?! There gonna make the one in Northridge the 'vintage' location... Sounds like they didn't think this through...
It's funny. Two channels that I'm subscribed to (and watch on the regular) had Chuck E Cheese entries this week. Kurt, if you're interested, here's a link to the other video that I watched after your's.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BbI3zOm2BkE.html
If your near Campbell off the 880 hit up Taco Bravo its off the freeway and open really late. Its like Taco Bell but like the Taco Bell of the 1960s and WAY Better and worth a visit you will be glad you went they are open until 3am and get one of the Taco Bravo its like the Old Taco delights and Taco Bell but thats doing it an injustice tons of ingredients fresh inside a fried flout shell do not miss this hole in the wall and it is in one of the original Taco Bell buildings I cannot say enough about this joint
This was my family's go to Chuck E Cheese in the 80s. We usually went on Saturday or Sunday nights. They had animatronic Beatles (monkeys if I recall) that would sing their early hits. My parents always sat us on the 2nd floor where there was a huge animatronic Hound that was set up as the Vegas era Elvis. In the main floor was Chuck E Cheese's band. We never sat down there but I believe it was old timey/bluegrass type music. There was a giant maze shaped like a block of cheese on the bottom floor. I think it also went to the second floor with a slide and such. I didn't go on there much because I was interested in the video games. Also a kid pulled a knife on me inside the maze 😅 The whole building had video games and foosball type games . The third floor was a bit smaller but I spent many tokens up there. It wasn't as popular because I think it stored older games. I remember the green carpet well! The pizza was pretty good and they had free refills on soda. They also serve beer so the parents were happy. Thanks for sharing a spot in my hometown! Cheers
I'm from San Jose and loved going there as a kid. There have been stories about ghosts in the 3rd floor where employees don't go to. They have a lot of classic stuff in the 3rd floor of the building.
What a sad looking chuckecheese 😢. I remember going to a few and seeing huge play parks in them which was amazing! Now everything is just focus on video games, my guess is more money for them that way. Just looks like another arcade unfortunately.
@@crosswalklarry Oh burn you got me with that zinger. Ive seen you on the internet comments section before. You are very dedicated and precise. Congrats once again on your victory here.
If I was CEO of Chuch E Cheese I would turn that company around in a HEARTBEAT. All I would need is one decent location and not even a whole lotta money. They just need to go back to the basics. And actually move AWAY from games. Back to animatronics, ball pits , and inflatables. That's all.
You should of seen this place in it's prime, back in 1995 when I was young this place was always packed full, almost impossible to find a parking spot. Always a long line to get in. The arcade was amazing with all the latest Japanese arcade games like Virtua fighter and time crisis series. You could barely move around with soo many people playing the arcade games.
