This thing hisses and puffs up if you are face to face. Its eyes glow and stare at you from high on the powerlines. Also, any aussie can confirm the amount of time they have been woken up 2am from one of these on their roof.
There's one (a brushtail) that lives just outside my mum's back door . She gets fed regularly and even had a little Joey a few months ago that has since grown up and moved on. Edit: She's got a second Joey now😊
Birds eye View he gets millions of views and sponsorships by meeting animals. Of course he needs money he’s not gonna leave his work and work for free here. He earns a lot
Awwww, Blossum is SO adorable!! Seems very chill and docile. Ive never seen one before. Her hands are soo cute, she grabbed her treat right out of your hand 😂😍 cuteness overload!
We have to kill these possums in new zealand they are a pest... I had a possum die in a trap on my deck the other night when it was raining. I came out to remove it from the trap the next morning and i saw a paw reaching out from its pouch, it was brutal, i had to kill the baby :(
Kind of sad that the toxic Paul brothers get such a long feature, but a channel like Brave Wilderness, that actually shows educational content is there for like 1 second.
I recently moved to the country and have at least 1 on my roof and in my yard every night. How do I befriend them ? I went out there last night and he was jus chillin looking at me standing on his back legs. They don't seem to be afraid of me. Even when I went out there with an axe thinking some manbearpig was in my yard weeks ago.
I have a ringtail possum who lives in a nest in a potplant in the spare room of my apartment. He leaves each night after sunset and comes home about 2 am. As I am on a high floor, I leave a window slightly open for him and he climbs up and down the drain pipe. He is mostly asleep during the day, never leaves any droppings and I don't feed him. I check to see if he has come home each morning and always think he is so cute when I see him curled up. I really enjoy sharing my home with a wild animal.
I think the American possum looks cute in its own way too. With its slightly cross-eyed gaze it looks like a funny mixture of a little helpless, a little flipped, but also somehow tricky. Somehow like an underdog. That makes it more interesting in my eyes. I like it. I also like the Australian possum, but it is "just" cute.
I'm Australian and I'm happy to be one, especially with all the beautiful animals that are here, and even though there are many deadly animals, its still a great place!
I wish I was from Australia. But nope. I’m from socialist western Russia. Aka Canada. We got some polar bears. Lots of animals that don’t live anywhere else. We also had our own type of original bandits similar to bush rangers. Most where natives. But not as cool as the most famous bush ranger.
I have these gorgeous little animals in my garden nightly and have fed them, they also like stokes too. If ever anyone in Australia has a bad day, just go feed these beautiful animals and your day will be complete.
“Possums” in America are actually Opossums whereas the Australian ones are just called possums. The ring tail possums in Australia are also very cute as well as the brush tail ones (which sometimes create chaos by running across the roof of your house...)
YUP! We found a baby one on the ground and my dog was about to eat it even though the mother should've looked after it. We couldn't give it to any possums in the house because they would eat it if it wasn't theirs. I GOT TO HOLD THE BABY POSSUM IT HAD BIG EYES AND EVERYTHING AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Tae tae kook no at my house I still see them in the day... sometimes it’s them sleeping in a camouflage tree... I litterally saw one in the day a few days ago... yes but it is true that they are much more common at night.. it is also very frustrating when u have a bunch of them living in your roof...
@@taetaekook945 I’ve lived in Brisbane and Hobart, and I’ve seen plenty of possums in both and never known them to be aggressive. At dusk you can see them walk along the powerlines every night just about anywhere in Brisbane.
That opossum is actually a rather famous one, its name was Heidi and it lived in a zoo in Leipzig, germany. Her squinting eyes made her pretty much the only opossum celebrity worldwide. Sadly she didn´t live long(like pretty much all opossums) and was euthanized in 2011 because she was doing so badly due to her old age(3 years old.. You´ve gotta feel sorry for this species).

These are the only species of possums you can find in New Zealand, you sadly see them dead on the side of the road everyday. It’s cool to see how everyone loves and are amazed by something so ordinary for me...
