Since abalones are so cheap this year, I prepared 'Abalone Pot Rice' for you to enjoy with your family.
If you check out the nearest market, they'll be selling abalones at a cheap price.

It's really easy to copy but tastes fabulous, so try making it for your family!
"Abalone Pot Rice" 1 - 2 servings
"* Abalone Pot Rice Ingredients
2 bowls of rice (400g)
2 abalones (10 mi size / around 100 g)
1 white part stem of green onion (50g)
2 tbsp of sesame oil (14g)
2 tbsp of cooking oil (14g)
Sauce Ingredients
1/5 of onion (50g)
1/5 of green onion (20g)
2 cheongyang pepper (20g)
5 tbsp of dark soy sauce (50g)
About 1/2 tbsp of minced garlic (8g)
1/2 tbsp of brown sugar (6g)
About 1 tbsp of whole sesame seeds (6g)"
"1. Clean the abalones under running water with a brush.
2. Pour water into a pot until it covers the abalones, then turn the stove to high heat.
3. Prepare the sauce while waiting for the water to boil.
4. For the sauce, dice the onion into 0.5cm pieces, cut the green onion and cheongyang pepper each into half vertically, and slice them into a 0.3cm thickness.
5. Crush the whole sesame seeds in a mortar.
If you don't have a mortar, add the whole sesame seeds to a plastic bag and crush them in glass sauce bottles.
6. In a bowl, add the diced onions, sliced green onions and cheongyang peppers, dark soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, and crushed sesame seeds, mix them well, and your sauce is ready.
7. Once the water in the pot comes to a boil, add the prepared abalones and blanch them for 1 minute to 1 minute and 30 seconds.
8. Cool the blanched abalones in cold water.
9. Shuck the abalone by placing the spoon between the abalone and the shell.
10. Use scissors to remove the viscera of the abalones, then remove the abalone teeth by pressing them down with your hands or by using scissors.
11. Wash the prepared abalones in cold water, then place them on a cutting board with their muscle attachment part facing up, make two long cuts along the surface, and slice them diagonally into 0.4cm thickness.
If there are extra abalones, pair the prepped and blanched abalones in a bag, remove all air, seal the bag, and store them in the freezer.
The leftover abalones are great to make abalone soup with or feel free to add two more in the pot rice."
"12. Roughly chop the viscera.
13. Slice the green onions, which are for the pot rice, into half vertically, then chop them into 0.4 cm thickness.
14. Place a frying pan on the stove, turn on the heat, drizzle cooking oil, 1tbsp of sesame oil, then add the prepped green onion, abalone meats, and viscera, and stir-fry until the green onion becomes wilted.
15. Spread the cooked rice evenly on the surface of a steel pot, drizzle 1 tbsp of sesame oil, and place the stir-fried abalones on top.
16. Close the lid of the steel pot, then cook for 5 to 6 minutes over low heat until the rice is slightly scorched.
Cooking the rice over low heat is crucial as it will release moisture and steam.
Keep checking if the rice is burning by smelling it while keeping the lid on.
17. Once the abalone pot rice is ready, add the sauce, mix it well, and enjoy.
Add butter for extra flavor.
Abalone sukhoe (parboiled abalone) is tastes best when dipped in pot rice sauce, sesame oil with minced garlic and salt, or chojang (Red chili paste with vinegar)."
